Character
Name: Gulliver Morris
Age: 18
Occupation: Freshman at College, Comic Book Store part-timer
Sexuality: Straight, but rather flamboyant.
Power: Illusion; the ability to alter ones perception; to cast an illusion that is terrifyingly real through cognitive means.

Personality
Positive Traits: Loyal, Cheesy, Dorky, Innocent trouble-maker, care-free, easy-go-lucky
Negative Traits: Lazy, no ambition, clumsy, careless, inner-negativity, outer-negativity towards certain things
Strengths: Gully's the type if friend that no matter how bad things might get, he'll somehow manage to make you smile, even if its at his own expense (which it often is). He has a way of.. well, getting away with things, especially to adults, by schmoozing them over with those puppy brown eyes and adorable smile, not to mention his charm to boot! He can be terribly positive, or positively sarcastic in situations, though it helps keep everyones spirits up. He's certainly a team player and would do anything for his friends. Gully's also a dreamer, hoping that one day he'll be able to shine.
Weaknesses: Kids that smile the most seem to have the deepest internal conflict. Gully's got his own secret battle of emotions that he'd rather not let on to other people. Its his burden, no one elses. He's truly the typical sidekick, getting enough spotlight and helping out when possible, but just not at that heroic level. He's a lover, not a fighter, and often questions his abilities if he were ever placed in a position like his favorite superheroes.
Brief Summary: Gull's a charmer. He's smart enough to know enough to hold himself well in a conversation, but his intelligence stops when effort is needed. He typically gets along with everyone, though had his fair share of bullying in the locker-ridden halls of grade and high school, though even when faced with 'danger', he still manages to keep up a smile and some witty remark to keep people on their feet.

History
Family: Dad; James, 53, Mom; Karen, 51, Step-Brother; Jeremy, 19
Brief Summary: Gully's real mom left him and his dad when he was seven, for whatever the reason; Gulliver was too upset to care, coming off most of his childhood as being nonchalant or 'well behaved' for the matter. James is an automechanic, working at one of the local shops, a pretty built guy with a background hankoring towards old-fashioned. He was built strong, bred to show no weakness, homegrown on a football field... You know the type of guy. Unfortunately, Gully had no qualities of his dad. The got along, sure, but there was always that 800 pound gorilla in the room. See, Gulliver, well, he's a bit off. Most would consider him a runt, what with his short stature and baby face for starters. Plus, he lives in his own little fantasy world. Wolverine, Batman, Nightcrawler, those were Gully's idols, those were the people that he wanted to grow up to be like. But he didn't get much of a chance to grow up playing out those fantasies, not when his Dad met another woman and married her.. And she came with a kid. His name is Jeremy. Tall, blond, chiseled facial features, dumb as a rock. Gulliver and Jeremy never got along, despite how close in age they were, and they fact that they were in school together, the same year no less! It was a constant battle for attention from either parents, until high school hit. There, at least Gully was able to pick some of his own classes and get away from the hideous beast that ended up playing football, which in Gully's eyes, was the numero uno way to his father's heart, so he simply gave up. He gave up on a lot of things since his new family showed up, and the only thing that really gave him satisfaction, or at least, a sanctuary, was a little comic book store he'd been going to since he was little. He'd gotten a job there and works after school every day. The pay is worthless, but at least he gets time to just sit and read, and there's minimal work that actually needs to get done.

Once the two boys graduated from high school, Jeremy was recruited to play football for some division two team, while Gully stayed home and opted to take some classes at community college. School wasn't his thing. He was okay in some subjects, but sitting around and doing homework? He'd rather be riding his bike or playing video games or trying to do stupid stunts.

He is very aware of his abilities, and has recently quit attending college (unknown to his parents) and has begun patrolling over in the nearest city's slums, protecting people from muggers and whatnot. Yes, he has a costume, yes its somewhat protective against blunt and penetrating trauma, and yes it covers his identity. His name, Mystic is just starting to get recognized amongst the streets.
