| Coast City Detective in Gotham |

Jess Byrd, Detective Byrd to most, is a Coast City detective on loan to Gotham City. She was powerless but a really smart woman. She knew her job inside and out. She was currently involved in a case involving a stolen antique necklace referred to as the Star Sapphire due to how the gems had been cut and set. It wasn't the kind of case she usually worked but it was connected to a string of homicides within the city.
She is combing over a crime scene after dark. Her heavy boots clunk on the ground as she moves about going over the details again.
She doesn't like the CSI guys in this town. They're not very flexible with how they think.
"Okay." She turns. "We missed a bullet."
Where'd it end up? Jess rubs her jaw thoughtfully feeling a tension headache starting to form. Missing something like that could make or break a case.

Jess is getting used to the idea that she and Harry are going to have a baby. She is staring at her profile in a mirror. Her stomach doesn't look like it has gained much weight at all. She still runs like crazy. It could be that she isn't putting on weight yet.
She looks... concerned for a moment. Is she doing okay? She worries that she might not be eating nearly enough for the baby since she is a distance runner.
So, Harry will find his half dressed girlfriend surfing the net for prenatal information with a concerned look on her face.

It was another day for the team. They had dealt with another disaster doing as much as they could to get everyone to safety. Jess thought everyone had gotten out fine. Only that wasn't true. She heard about a cop who had died doing his duty. He had gotten his partner and a couple of kids to safety.
Jess felt a sense of guilt over it. So she did what she thought was the right thing. She didn't wear a badge so instead she put a black arm band over around one arm close to her shoulder where it might go over a patch if she had one.
She was going to go to the wake. It turns out that the wake was going to be running all night just in case anyone wanted to sit with the body. She had seen lots of cops and a few fire men go in and out all night. She was getting tired but she felt like this was a personal failure so she was going to stay the entire time. Jess was aware though that she was getting very tired. She really wants a cup of coffee. She doesn't want to give up her vigil though.
She would feel guilty for failing this cop again.

She had wanted to learn more about what it meant to be someone with part of Ion in her. That meant learning more about the Green Lanterns. She had decided that it wouldn't be so bad to let the Guardians pick someone out for her to team up with.
That someone was Dex. She wasn't quite sure how it had happened but they ended up in the middle of a war zone trying to find a Prince who would be able to put a stop to this madness.
And now they were dodging around gun fire and explosions while trying to find this kid.
"Oh for crying out loud," Jess grumbled as they had to duck and wait again as ships bombarded the city they were combing through. "Can't we do something about them, Dex?"

Jess is staring into the pantry. This is scary. Someone had bought all of her favorite things.
And what looks to be like everyone else's too. She raises one eyebrow and then the other. For a moment she isn't sure if she should laugh or not. Instead she shakes her head and moves to sit on a stool in the big and very shiny looking kitchen at their new head quarters.
She is hungry but all the food that appeals to her different tastes is off putting just a bit. It's too easy. That's when she gets a bright idea.
She starts to dig around for materials. She'll try making pizza. That will make things just hard enough to be interesting.

Physical description (face, build, weight): A leanly built woman with green skin and darker green hair. Also to be noted: her eyes are green too. Both of her ears are pierced and she prefers to dress in clothing that doesn't restrict her movement. She also favors heavy boots because they can survive any wear and tear she puts them through.

Abilities: Jess can mimic a Green Lantern on a basic level, she can do constructs and fly. She can't impose her will on others or anything else though her will power is strong enough if it were not for the shard of Ion she would make an excellent Green Lantern candidate.
Weaknesses and flaws: She has great difficulty lying to people. She currently also has student loans she needs to pay off and is terrible at managing her personal fiances.
If someone needs help she can't say no to them even at her own expense. She also has no heroic experience and finds herself impulsive when it comes to fighting having a 'look before she leaps' mentality currently.

Backstory: Jess wanted to be a cop just like her Dad so she started to school. She was good at it and enjoyed life as a college student in Coast City. Then Blackest Night happened and everything went nuts. During Blackest Night Jess died saving some fellow civilians and was revived by the Compassion from an EMT who found her body. Jess became one of the six people who found themselves as hosts for fragments of beings from the Emotional Spectrum just after the events of Blackest Night. Jess has assumed it is dying and coming back to life that turned her body green like this.
She has no idea about her powers, just that her skin is bright green and her hair is a richer dark green.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: The introductory plot Dylan has worked out.
What are you planning to do with this character? New Guardian plots I'd like to see her trying to get rid of her student loan debts while trying to be a brand spanking new super hero and watch the shenanigans of her working with her new team.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Slowly I would like her to become less impulsive. Maybe turn that into a bit of over confidence and play up her becoming a bit of a hot shot over time as she learns to control herself and then temper that with learning to be a team player to see her shine side by side with her new friends.
