1. Everybody knew Pippi was an idiot, Michael was just more blunt about it than most people.
2. Despite #1, everyone was still caught off guard when he finally lost it and chewed her out for being a moron in the field. Admittedly, she had been - but people still likened it to kicking a puppy. She lost it and ran off crying.
3. Attempts to get him to apologize never went anywhere. He can be stubborn like that.
4. Everyone was equally shocked when she was the one who healed the Firestorm matrix when it became unstable, no one thinking her powers could do that. What's more, it was without any hesitation.
5. They've been friends ever since, and Pippi has revealed she didn't even remember much of the original incident, other than Mr. Whiskers talking her through it over tea. She'd been confused most of the time since over why everyone was being so mean to Michael.
