1. They met battling a source of supernatural evil that their respective gifts had led them both to.
2. He asked her if fighting was all she was for hire for. It might have been the post-fight adrenaline, but instead of decking him, she went with "You couldn't afford me."
3. That got discussion going enough to turn into a challenge, and drinks. Lots of drinks.
4. Betting on pool with Nick didn't go well, but she surprised herself with how kinky she was willing to get (the drinks probably helped)
5. The next day they figured out they'd never be a good couple, but more team ups and "team ups" had to happen.
