Why not make this a community project?
As you explore and tag on Scribbld, post here with any points in or against the site's favor that you've discovered.
PROS - 50 icons, free - No invite codes - Accounts are free - Site scheme is easy on the eyes
CONS FOR EVERYONE - LJ Login is not compatible with Scribbld! LI IS OUR SAVIOR! The version of LJ Login in that link is compatible with scribbld! - Default font is small - NO BROWSE BUTTON ;___; - Seems unreliable in terms of paid accounts/support/etc. - Cluttered sidebar
CONS FOR MODERATORS - 'Approve members' link in the email doesn't work; you must go through Settings, Manage Communities, and then click on the '# members pending' button - Most 'complex' actions (like managing tags, creating a community, etc) has to be done in a round-about way -- usually through the settings button |

IC Information |
[Mar. 24th, 2011|12:09 am] |
The cave is about a half a mile tall, two miles long, and a mile wide. The cave walls have veins of a metallic mineral threaded through them, which are yellow-gold in color and glow bright enough to provide a good reading light. As mentioned, has homes and businesses carved into the cave walls, as well as build on the cave floor out of the same material of the cave walls. The cave floor is largely covered in sand, though there are large pages of grass, and vegetation appears capable of growing there easily. At the northernmost part of the cave is what seems to be a small farm, manned by absolutely no one. Regardless, food grows and can be taken freely, and somehow makes its way into stores every day regardless. The cave is always fairly cool.
The lake at the center of the cave is a good 300 feet across, 400 feet long, and oval in shape. The water is clear and safe to drink and swim in, but about 50 feet out the bottom can no longer be seen, so be careful!
Food such as vegetables, fruit, meat, grains, and spices are all readily available. 'Where from' is not readily apparent, but there's a fresh stock of it in the stores every morning.
Buildings include those on the cave floor and built into the walls. They range from tiny, one-bedroom affairs to sprawling mansions. The only source of light is, again, the veins of glowing minerals and lamps made out of such. Neither the lights nor veins in the walls can be turned off, so they must be covered with paint or fabric if you want darkness.
Furniture and decorations are in all business and homes, oddly, and heavily favor bright reds, blues, greens, and purples.
Amenities are oddly modern. There are gas ovens and stoves, refrigerators, and running hot and cold water. However, none appear to be powered by conventional electricity.
The pocket watch received upon arrival acts as a compass and allows for voice communication over a distance with anyone else who ha a pocket watch. It seems impossible to destroy or lose them. Even if you throw them into the lake, they will reappear near you or actually inside your pocket within the next 24 hours. |

Intent |
[Mar. 23rd, 2011|11:55 pm] |
The intent of glowsite is to test Sribbled's viability as a host for an RP.
glowsite is meant to be a relaxed, casual, no-pressure RP. There is no application, no character limit, no activity check, and only two communities to keep track of (IC and OOC).
This RP is only meant to last a few weeks, just long enough to test Scribbld's capacity. However, the game has no set closing date -- if the players wish for it to last longer, it will.
The rules are simple and standard: no godmoding, no wank, play nice, and have fun. The RP is invite only, though, so unless one of the players will vouch for you, you can't get in.
OUs, AUs, and OCs are all allowed. Only three versions of the same character are allowed, and at least one slot is reserved for a canon version.
Tag your entries with '!!action' or '!!voice' and your character's full name (appended with 'au' if they are an AU.)
We have an AIM chatroom because the mod made one at the last minute: glowchat |

Premise |
[Mar. 23rd, 2011|11:38 pm] |
This isn't where you were before.
Instead it's a massive cave -- an entirely enclosed cave, at that. The walls swoop up to form a high dome overhead, visible only for the fact that the rock is threaded through with veins of brightly glowing, yellow-gold mineral. Homes seems to be carved into the walls, in addition to being built on the (mostly) sandy cave floor, and the entire city (for it's far too large to be a mere town) seems centered around a large lake in the center of the cave. Despite its status as a city, the cave is rather quiet.
Your powers are intact, and you arrived with all items you had on your person. In addition, there is a plain, bronze pocket watch in your hand. Open it up and you'll find a folded up letter stuffed into it, which very simply reads:
Darling Traveler,
Welcome to Glowsite, a fine underground settlement where you can pursue your wildest dreams.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your time here.
~Mayor Glowsite |
