I need to speak to someone who has been, or is currently "in love."

They are just words. You are not physically harmed by them, so your reactions are unnecessary.

Words can hurt! Emotionally. They can hurt your feelings, how do you not know that? That's a huge part of being in love with someone, by the way.

No words spoken to me have ever damaged me in any way. How are words related to an emotional connection?

I don't even know where to start with you...

If you already like/love someone and they say something uplifting, it makes you feel good. If they say something mean, it hurts your feelings more than when a stranger or someone you don't like says it. When they hurt your feelings, it's more painful, because you trust them.

Or if you don't already like/love someone, something they say can make you like them more, or like them less.

This is based off personal experience?

Well yeah, but most people should be able to tell you that.

I will record it as such. Is that all you know?

Well no, but I'm not sure what else to tell you.

Which are you, someone in love or someone who experienced it in the past? This is relevant to the previous information you have given me.

Hmm... well... it's hard to say exactly...

I've thought I was in love before, but looking back, I don't think I was, compared to now.

What is different now?

I'm older and wiser! And I guess because I've met guys who are more worthy of my time than the ones before.

Does love become easier to understand with knowledge and age?

I really hope so... but something tells me it's still confusing no matter how much you know or how old you are.

What tells you that?

Well, adults seem to have the same problems, and you'd think they'd be better at it. That and it's pretty unpredictable.

Romantic love is unpredictable? What I heard about love for family is that it is rather stable. What makes romance so volatile?

Well... love for family has had a really long time to get right. For close families there's no question about whether someone loves you back or not, and even if they hurt your feelings you aren't wondering if they're going to stop loving you. I guess it's kind of like having a safety net.

A safety net... So love is for the weak.

I didn't say that! I think it makes you stronger. When you know your family and friends are there for you, it makes things easier.

The truly strong can stand without support. That is what I have seen.

I don't.

Well, if that's true, you're an exception to the rule. But even if you don't need it, it's nice to have it.
