CHARACTER INFO: BOOSTER GOLD.

The Application: Player Information.

Player Name: Queen JJ, Ruler of Earth, the Sun, the Universe and, yes, You.
Player Age: 666.
Contact Information: sexyfuntime69@emeet.com.
Timezone: Whatever timezone you want me to be in, bb.
Experience: lol.

The Application: Character Information.

Character Name: Michael Carter, but really, he'd rather you go with Booster.
Superhero Name: Booster Gold. It was SUPPOSED to be Goldstar, you know, but there was a bit of a cock-up with that plan. But hey! Booster Gold, it's cool, too. Macho, don't you think?
Place of Origin: 25th century Metropolis.
Current Location: Currently chilling in a not-so-sweet pad over at the Metrotower. He spends a lot of his free time longing for that kickass mansion he once had, and avoiding that stuffy mansion he now supposedly shares with his 'wife'. It smells like old cat!

PB: Chris Pratt...or Owen Wilson! IDK!

Abilities:
Booster's abilities stem solely from various pieces of equipment he stole from the Space Museum where he worked in the 25th century; this advanced technology allows Booster to keep pace with many of the other superheroes, although without it, he is simply an average, unremarkable (aside from his great hair!) man. The powers he possesses when donning his suit include:
Super-strength: His power suit enables Booster to withstand and exert a great deal of force.
Energy Blasts: Booster is able to attack enemies with his wrist blasters.
Force Field: The power suit, equipped with a force field belt, projects a strong shield that can protect Booster, and those near him, from attacks by various weapons and/or other objects.
Infrared Sight: Not only do Booster's goggles enable him to see in infrared, UV, and X-ray vision, they also magnify his surroundings.
Time Travel: Circuits in his power-suit have gifted Booster with the ability to time travel.
Flight: A Legion Flight ring, also stolen from the Museum, has technology that grants Booster the ability to fly.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths: Booster, although commonly considered dumb and dull by most who know him, can sometimes display the odd stroke of ingenuity; it is this fact that has allowed him to be a shrewd - and yes, once rather successful - businessman (if you ignore the fact that he trusted an agent who left him bankrupt and homeless, of course). He's a clever conversationalist, if a bit (okay, extremely) tactless, and is a loyal friend to those who have managed to earn the label. Booster's a superhero for a reason, after all; sure, a large part of it may be due to the fame and glory bit that goes along with the career, but a small, tiny, minuscule part of Booster actually does like fighting the good fight, standing up for what's right, etc., etc. Oh, and Booster's always down for a laugh - don't they say it's the best medicine? He's a firm believer in that notion, at any rate.

Weaknesses: Booster Gold may indeed be a superhero, but he's definitely one of the more questionable one as far as the higher-ranking members of the League are concerned; his tendency to be self-centered, and his neverending quest to make just ONE more buck have caused Booster to be eyed with a great deal of scorn by his superiors, and even simply by his peers. Even during times of extreme strife, Booster is often inclined on focusing on himself, and how to make himself look good, rather than how to actively solve the problem at hand. He cares a lot about fame and glory, and it definitely shows through during missions. He can be foolhardy, jumping into action without getting the go-ahead from those in-charge, which can often lead to even more trouble for the League. His tendency to laugh it all off, and his constant pranking with his partner-in-crime, the Blue Beetle, does nothing to help matters. All in all, while Booster may not be the League's enemy, he can definitely be a liability at times.

To summarize:
Booster's strengths include: talking, talking loudly, spiking a mean football, and being a Grade A ass.
Booster's weaknesses include: talking, talking loudly, betting on his ability to spike a mean football, and being a Grade A ass.

Personality:
Loud. Obnoxious. The frat boy who never quite grew up. Booster Gold loves money, is absolutely obsessed with fame, and more often than not can be self-centered to a rather grating degree. Nevertheless, Booster is a superhero for a reason: he has courage, and while it can more accurately be described as 'extreme foolhardiness' in his case, it is undoubtedly there, and is the very reason that Booster has survived for so long in a career characterized by confrontations with crazed psychopaths, fanged beasts and, yes, Batman's death glare.

While Booster is undoubtedly an obnoxious sort of character, born without a shred of humility or tact, he is simultaneously the sort of person who makes himself the life of a party: at the heart of it all, Booster Gold is just fun. Yes, he's immature, but he knows how to have a good laugh, and even more notably, how to make others laugh, and perhaps it is this very reason that's prevented him from being killed by his peers. There's just something somewhat endearing about a guy that can find humour in even the direst of situations. Booster Gold, he's kind of like a kicked puppy dog.

Not one for beating around the bush, Booster's blunt honesty and petulance often come across as utter stupidity. He just doesn't know when to stop talking, and sometimes, really, he doesn't even realize that what he's saying is completely not appropriate in a given situation. However, this isn't to say that Booster's a complete dunce; he can, just like any other superhero, display a rare stroke or two of cleverness. After all, how else could he have built a multi-million dollar company from the ground up? (Just ignore the fact that it went bankrupt, please.) Yeah, he comes across as kind of an asshole, due primarily to his self-centered gloryseeking attitude, as well as his ever-present greed. However, it should be taken into account that Booster's obsession with money stems from his complete lack of it as a child; now, that's certainly no excuse for his antics, but it's a reason for it nevertheless.

Self-centered and seemingly arrogant, Booster can often be found boasting about his wonderful qualities (there are SO many, you know). However, Booster's also rather prone to mood swings; one little insult and he'll be licking his wounds for hours afterwards - he's not the sort to take well at all to constructive criticism, and it is this fact that highlights Booster's underlying insecurities. As a second-stringer in the Justice League, he has a pretty huge inferiority complex, especially what with having to measure up to his Metropolis super-neighbor, Superman. It should be noted, however, that under all the selfish commentary and narcissism, Booster can be a loyal friend: just ask the Blue Beetle.

Yes, Booster has flaws: one might say he has even more than the average, run-of-the-mill superhero. He's not always fighting the bad guys out of the goodness of his heart, he expects rewards for his actions, and he's obnoxious as all heck, but at the same time, he's not the most terrible guy to hang out with. Yeah, you could do better - but you could also do a heck of a lot worse.

Relationships:
Skeets: If we're reviewing history, Skeets is a robot from the 25th century that Booster kidnapped and brought with him back in time in his quest to become the next great superhero. Perhaps a victim of Stockholm Syndrome, this little security robot, equipped with historical data and a voice of reason that can talk even Booster down from his manic highs, has developed a rather close relationship with the superhero. He may be comprised entirely of wires and metal, but there's a connection running there powered by something other than just electricity: Booster and Skeets are a true duo, and you'll never see Michael without his robot following close behind, often engaged in an endless stream of chatter. Always ready to help Booster in a mission, or extricate him from a difficult position, or to simply summarize his 'feelings' with a disappointed, "Oh, sir," Skeets can't be considered anything but completely and utterly indispensable to the superhero.

Blue Beetle: When Booster was recruited by the Justice League, the one member that he clicked with straight away was fellow B-Lister, Ted Kord. There was something to be said for being second-stringers in a team where power and prestige pretty much determined hierarchy; two men that couldn't take themselves seriously were hardly the types to ever make their way up the ranks of the JLU, but they were the types to see an opportunity to bond over said fact. From the very first BWAHAHA, incited by, yes, an immature (yet to them, absolutely ingenious) prank, Team Blue and Gold was a gogogo, and the two have been united ever since in their quest for laughter, money, and oh, getting the hotter girl. While Ted and Michael may argue a lot - a lot - it's almost always in fun; underneath it all, there's a solid friendship there, backed by loyalty and trust. In fact, Booster considers Ted to be his closest friend.

Elongated Man: Friends of a sort, and by 'of a sort', I mean the type that complain, whine, and compete more than they ever actually bond, Ralph and Booster both have that 'JLU second-stringer' thing in common. (I'll have to talk to whoever ends up playing EM about this one, actually, since most of their interaction occurs in the comics!)

Green Lantern: Booster harbors a bit of a grudge against the Green Lantern, for no other reason than that people always mistake him for the bastard. I mean, come on! They don't look anything alike. He's Booster GOLD. He wears a SHINY METAL SUIT. Where's the green? Nowhere, that's right! If he hears ONE more kid he's EVER-SO-HEROICALLY rescued from a burning building say, "Thanks, GL!" Booster is going to have to kick some serious ass - or, you know, just sit in a corner and settle in for a good, long sulk.

Superman: Two superheroes, one town. It was never going to end well, but with Booster's grating, loud personality, it was hardly a surprise that the Big Blue Boy Scout instantly took a dislike to the other superhero. Although they may sometimes team up together to beat the odd bad guy destroying Metropolis, most of the time, the two just don't get along. Superman sees Booster as nothing more than a power-hungry, sorry excuse for a JLUer, and Booster sees Superman as something of a threat - mostly to his potential fame and glory. I mean, why does SUPERMAN get to have a Day named after him? It's not fair! Booster's saved JUST as many kittens from trees, AND he has better hair.

Gladys: Booster's sixty-five year old wife, whom he married in an admittedly rather desperate get-rich(-fairly)-quick scheme, is a formidable woman who can make even the loud and brash Michael Jon Carter act like a meek kitten with a mere glare. Not only does she insist on not dying, day after day, Gladys also insists on actively torturing her young, virile husband; in fact, humiliation via crossdressing is her preferred method of doing so - she SO adores it when her ickle Booster dresses up in that fabulous little Wonder Woman get-up she bought him for his last birthday.

Trixie Collins: Booster's former secretary, from his days as the owner of the highflying and successful Goldstar, Inc., is one girl that Booster can never seem to quite get it together for. There's definitely something there, but in the same thread, something else always seems to get in the way of anything further ever developing between the two. Currently, there's the big, hulking problem of Booster's wife, Gladys.

Batman: bobbles his head on Booster's desk a lot. Don't ask.

Pre-League History:
Michael Jon Carter was born during the 25th century in a rather dilapidated part of Metropolis, where he lived with his mother and sister. His father, who had gambled away much of his income and the family resources, had abandoned them fairly early on during Booster's childhood, and was the primary reason that the Carters found themselves in such deplorable conditions. Things began to look up for them, however, when Michael acquired a football scholarship to Gotham University, where he quickly became the star of his team and attained the nickname, "Booster".

However, Booster, who seemed to also have acquired his father's affinity for gambling, began to bet on his games, although he never threw them, and was subsequently caught and expelled from university. After a row with his mother, he left home and found a job as a night guard at the Metropolis Space Museum, where he met the security robot, and his future sidekick, Skeets. It was here that Booster formulated the idea to steal various pieces of equipment from the museum and travel to the past using Rip Hunter's time machine, where he could use the advanced technology to make a name and fortune as a superhero.

Kidnapping Skeets, Booster traveled back to the 20th century, where he immediately began to perform 'heroic deeds', the most notable being his rescue of the President himself. This event landed Booster several endorsement deals, and allowed him to make a great deal of money. It was this notoriety that both caught one Maxwell Lord's attention and gained Booster the label of a glory-seeking two-bit excuse for a hero by more respected superheroes. Lord, who saw an opportunity to wield power, began to help Booster with his endorsement deals.

Eventually, Booster, amassed enough money to establish his own company, titled Goldstar, Inc., and gain the title of self-made millionaire. However, it was soon discovered that his fortune was slowly being siphoned away by Dirk Davis, his agent, a fact which left Booster both bankrupt and homeless. It was around this very time that the JLU, concerned about Lord's involvement in Booster's business dealings, approached the superhero with an invitation to join the team; after all, it would simply be safer, they reasoned, for Booster Gold to be under their watchful eye rather than under the opportunistic gaze of Maxwell Lord. Booster, down on his luck and without the luxurious mansion he'd once called his home, quickly agreed, enticed by both the prospect of more fame and, simply, a warm bed.

League History:
Booster's shining moment in the JLU came during "The Greatest Story Never Told", an episode of which he was the main attraction. While the rest of the League was off fighting the evil Mordu, Booster was assigned to crowd control, a task indicative of the Justice League's relative lack of faith in both his abilities and his general persona. However, whilst assigned to crowd control, Booster, along with Skeets, came across two scientists who had inadvertently created a blackhole that could mean the end of the universe; due to Booster's low position in the JLU, no one took heed of his pleas, and he was forced to save the day all on his own, only to be reprimanded by Batman for leaving his duty in the first place. At least he got the girl!

Booster's also made appearances with the rest of the League during various disasters, including mass invasions against Earth and during the arc of Project Cadmus. He was also featured in the last episode, during the battle against Darkseid.

Post-Destroyer History:
Since major crime is pretty much non-existent these days, what with the abolishment of the League of Doom and the mysterious disappearance of Lex Luthor, Booster's already open schedule has opened up all the more, giving him more free time than any mischievous superhero could possibly ever need. Instead of using said free time in productive ways, of course, Booster has instead been whiling away the hours plotting various get-rich-quick schemes with his cohort, Ted Kord - he's going to be a STAR (again) someday, just you wait and see.

However, in the interim, the complete and utter lack of cash flow also caused Booster to have a minor freakout, leading to his subsequent marriage to the rich, rich (and just as elderly) heiress, Gladys. Go ahead and say it. "Oh, Booster."

Plot Ideas: kooey kooey kooey u no

The Application: Samples.

Journal Sample:
ATTENTION, EVERYONE! Yeah, even YOU, Bats!

All your dreams, your wishes, your WHIMSICAL FANCIES, have come true: BOOSTER GOLD is now ON the journal network, ready and willing to give each and every one of you his John Hancock! Aren't you excited? Yeah, I know you are. I would be, too.

ANYWAY, the thing is, nothing great comes without a price. Someone famous said that, you know. SO, you want an autograph? All I want is an assignment. Come on! There's NOTHING going on in Metropolis these days, especially what with SUPES just hogging every bank robbery that comes along, and a man like me NEEDS his fame. I don't spend an HOUR doing my hair every day just to lie around with NO HEROIC MISSIONS to go on - I mean, I look this good for a REASON, right?
