Brief Summary: In general, Suiwi is a nice girl. Bouncy, bubbly, energetic...she can put a smile on anyone's face. She loves (LOVES) to be the center of attention, and will happily interuppt anyone else who may be talking to get her way. Most of the people who stick around long enough to actually call her a friend get used to it pretty quick, so it's not much of a problem. With strangers, or people she doesn't know so well, it can get her in to a lot of trouble. Always one of the first to call 'bullshit', she rarely backs down for a fight...until it looks like she might be losing. When that happens, she'll usually run away. Or just lie through her teeth about whatever the argument is about until the other person gets frustrated and walks away. That approaches actually works fairly well, especially against people who aren't that smart. Suiwi can be kind of territorial when it comes to her close friends and boyfriend. It's not that she doesn't want other people to be around them at all. She just wants the guarentee that she's the favorite. If it looks like someone else may be encroaching on her place, she'll retaliate in a sneaky and vindictive way that is all Suiwi. Most of the time, that involves some sort of malicious rumor, spread with a baffiling pace throughout whatever social person her new enemy runs in. If, by some strange chance, that doesn't work, she always feels the need to step up her game. That is to say, she starts monoploizing her friend/boyfriend's time until they don't have the time or energy to pay attention to anyone else. She usually wins. When she does't, things can get ugly. Suiwi is an epic pouter. She'll ignore everything and everyone, sitting in some dark room feeling sorry for herself until someone manages to work her out of her funk. That can take awhile, depending on the level of the offense. Luckily (for EVERYONE), this doesn't happen too often. It really is hard to offend her. She handles pretty much everything with a sort of careless good humor. Any bad qualities mentioned before are only about 25% of her overall personality. Those are just the most detailed parts. The rest of the time, Suiwi really is ridiculously friendly. She's always available when one of her friends needs a hand, wether that hand is help moving or someone to go get midnight french fries with after an especially long day. Naturally, she'd rather go do something fun with her buddies, but she's not above helping them shovel crap. It's what friends do, right?
Brief Summary: Born on Oahu Island in Kaneohe, Hawaii, the first fifteen years of Suiwi Teng's life were blissfully normal. Her mother owned a cafe that did steady business all year round, while her father did something important for one of the bigger companies in the area (she never cared what he did, exactly). She did well enough in school, but her real passions were on the beach. From a young age, she'd go out with her brother. First, she watched the surfers. Once she was old enough, she pestered her older brother until he taught her, too. She had the eye and the balance to make her decent at it. Suiwi loved the ocean. Not a day went by when she wasn't down by the water, hanging out with her friends and hitting the waves. For a pre-teen, it was absolute heaven. Sure, she still had all the normal responsibilties and worries, but everything else she had going on more than made up for it.When she was fifteen, her blissful little world fell to pieces. Her father had to relocate for his job. Suiwi threw an absolute fit over it. She didn't want to leave Hawaii and go...whever it was he wanted them to go. It wasn't an argument she was going to win. As upset as the rest of the family might have been over the move, Due Teng wasn't going to relent. He promised that the move would mean more stability for the family, that they'd be happy no matter where they went. Suiwi didn't believe him, but there wasn't anything they could do about it. So, one bleak November day, they left Hawaii and settled down in cold, windy Boston, Mass. She was immediately unimpressed. For one, it was freezing. For another, the nearest ocean was just as cold, as well as rocky and choppy. There would be no surfing here. While her mother opened up a new cafe, and her father went to work in Boston, she resigned herself to being miserable. That lasted a good six months before she started to peek out of her shell. Suiwi was a novelty, even in a town like Boston. She'd always looked somewhat tropical, with her tan and tendancy to wear flowery shirts in December, and came from a place that almost none of her fellow students had visited. It wasn't hard for her to warm up to the attention. Once that happened, she achieved instant popular status. That didn't bother her, either. She didn't mind being at the top of the social ladder. In fact, she thrived on it. That was one of the few things that kept her sane. During that time, she developed a reputation for being somewhat bitchy, though most people didn't have much of a problem with her. Suiwi didn't pick on anyone who didn't start something with her first.Shortly after the end of her junior year in high school, Suiwi's family relocated again. She was thrilled. South Carolina was a hell of a lot warmer, and they were moving back to an island. Her father could commut from there, and the rest of the family could actually be happy again. Linh re-opened her cafe (again), and Suiwi bounced in to a new school with a remarkably bright attitude. It may not have been Hawaii, but it was as close an alternate as she was likely to get. Given her former living arrangements, she couldn't really complain. The Island of Palms was waaaaay nicer than Boston.During her senior year, she shocked the shit out of everyone. Up until that point, she'd been all about the pretty jock boys. Clean cut, muscley...you know the type. But when she went in just after her eighteenth birthday to have her belly button pierced, Suiwi hit it off quick with Timothy 'Timbo' Brodsky. They shared a love of warm weather and surfing. Before long, they were dating. Shortly after that, he seduced her in to the world of piercing and tattooing. After graduation, she started the process of becoming a piercing apprintice. That hadn't been the career choice that any of her family had expected her to take. To make a little extra scratch, she worked as a waitress, and to keep her family happy, she took night courses at a local community college. Beyond her wildest dreams, she found herself somewhat content in Bristol.Years later, she's still with Timbo, still working as both a piercer and a waitress, and still mostly happy with her life. She and her boyfriend take trips to more tropical places to go surfing, so she no longer misses out on that. She's got plenty of friends from every walk of life, her family does't hate her, and then there's this nifty new trick that she can do...
Lightning -- Currently, Suiwi's control over her lightning is highly sporadic. She can't aim very well, and while the voltage could certainly stun someone, there's not a chance of her killing anyone. Except maybe birds. Or squirrels. But she wouldn't do that, because their cute. Eventually, she'll get better aim and more power. Hopefully.
