Deckard: *will direct the others to prepare a space on the bed for the man to rest in and put a pot of stew on to warm for him*

Naijah: *will need help eating when he wakes. He gently squeezes the arm of whoever helps* Thanks.

*Duke suggested Deckard, GM, n McC stay back from him till they know how he'll treat J'har*
SM: *is helping him, nods*

Naijah: *he's looking all around as he eats, anyone who meets his gaze will get a small smile* Quite a bunch here, eh? *kind of surprised by ALL THE KIDS! Not that he has a problem with it, but two adults with nine kids? Wow.*

Kage: *helping too by helping him sit up while SM helps him eat*

*At least they're not a rowdy gaggle? At the moment, in any case . . . they're working on chores – mending clothes, weaving a basket, woodworking, etc*

GM: *wry, cheeky grin* We kind of came as a packaged set. *thumbing at himself and the rest of the team*

*Naijah will rest and recover for the next couple weeks. He likes talking and joking with the kids, and after that first day Terris assures them it's fine for all of them to be near the man, Terris doesn't believe he has any problems with j'har. Naijah is finally feeling good and has slipped out /early/. When the others wake they'll find him going through different kata out front. His movements are slow and fluid, but also incorporate his walking staff...and graceful jumps and flips. He kind of looks like a ninja.*

*The boys are all friendly and helpful, taking turns helping look after the man, especially once it's determined for /sure/ that he's not just acting but really is okay with all of them – Naijah might have noticed that the Humans and Amin among the boys were particularly, if somewhat subtly, protective of their J'har brothers, bouncing forward with some variation of "no, it's good, I've got it" any time one of the three were going to help him. Once everyone's up and starting chores, Deckard goes to check on Naijah, thinking maybe the man just needed to relieve himself*
Deckard: *watches for a moment, eyes wide, then turns with a grin and a wave* Shadowmaru…
SM: *comes to look . . . and /straightens/, gaping* Kagerou! Kagerou, come here! You have to see this! *there's excitement in his voice and a light in his eyes that's been missing since he and Kage got in trouble last*

SM: *diligent, asking intelligent questions – how long should it be compared to him, what kind of weight, what sorts of things will it be used for, what kinds of weaknesses to be aware of, etc . . . gets his branch cut and is always sort of playing with it a bit as they head back…not too much, though, realizing the balance will change once they start carving and smoothing*

Naijah: *patiently answers all of their questions, and it SM doesn't ask something first Kage does. They'll settle and he'll show them hownto properly carve and smooth the wood. It's probably all they do today. The next day Naijah will start walking them through a simple kata. The staff plays a large part in their balance and the moves they make. He'll keep things slow and simple, and their feet on the ground for the most part. It's...kind of like a dance, and sometimes Naijah will have them "dance" together. When facing each other, and going through the kata, it almost looks like a choreographed fight...if it was faster anyway.*

*They're not robots anymore. The training will be /hard/ and take a long time for them to get good at. Naijah is patient, but challenging them at every turn. He'll push them to exhaustion four days a week and the fifth day they'll spend time just being still, or caring for their staffs. And they run, a lot. The focus isn't so much speed, but endurance, setting themselves at a quick, but steady jog. It's thebonly time they're allowed outside of the boarders Terris set for them. They'll even get to see Naijah in action when they come across a group of slavers looking for runaways (or easy pickings) in the forest. The group is surprised, but with their training the boys will easily slip free of their captors and Naijah practically dances around and /over/ the rest of the group, dropping the remaining group with seeming ease. He's /proud/ of his students, and once dragging the men back to the road and leaving them there (still unconscious), they'll head home.*

*If Naijah wasn't pushing him, SM would be pushing /himself/. He might comment sometimes, or show concern for his brother when Kage's slower or having any kind of issue, but he never really complains at all, no matter /how/ sore and exhausted he gets. As often as not, they'll be joined by one or more of the other boys as well, if only for fun. It's just the three of them, however, when they're happened upon by the slavers. SM fights /hard/, /growling/ as he frees himself and turns his staff on the bastard holding his brother. He's /amazed/ at getting to see Naijah, though he'll have to process it later – too much going on now! . . . but then, it's over and they're heading home . . . and SM has a /grin/ on his face.*

Naijah: Well...yeh two look happy. Yeh're gettin' good with yehr runnin', good stamina, we'll start on how teh jump and land next. *they've already have been...haven't they? In their katas they do jumps and kicks and flips all the time... The grin on his face says he's /waiting/ for that question.*

Naijah: The kind that lets yeh walk on walls. *he darts towards a nearby tree, running up the trunk like he might do a back flip, but instead he launche from the side of the trunk to the branches above, and lands crouched on the branch, staff across his knees.* Yeh need teh be light on yer feet. *leaps down, and from a height that should injure him...and lands lightly on his feet without rolling.* So yeh can do just about anythin' yeh want.

Naijah: *laughs* Of course I do. What's the fun of bein' able teh do somethin' impressive if yeh never show off? *and even as theybhead back Naijah will teach them. They'll start jogging and he'll have them follow his steps exactly. Instead of jogging the trail he'll leap bushes, jump up and shove a foot against a tree to change directions, leap up to swing from a low branch to clear a rock, or twisting as he swings to change directions again*

SM: *has crouched down to hold her, murmuring support – looks up at Kage and…frowns a bit* There's only the two of us and we don't have comms to keep in contact. How about we find a place together? Then you'll know where we are and can check in regularly. If something happens to you – or to us – we have no way of alerting each other otherwise.
Kage: *hesitates...but SM is right, they have no comms... He nods* Let's go then. If those men are smart they'll expect us around water.
SM: *nods* Agreed. *will help Jen get dressed again, then will pick her up in his arms* Let's go.
*They'll find a place to hide, Kage will get them some fish (since it can be eaten raw) and some veggie roots that don't need to be cooked to eat, and will get the fish skinned and cleaned away from their hiding place. He'll come back and they'll eat then snuggle up to wait. They'll take turns keeping watch and will otherwise just try to rest.*

*As night falls....it becomes clear that Kage and SM aren't coming home. Terris, worried, goes to find them, Naijah with him, the rest of the Braves are told to stay home with Shai.*

Naijah: *it's late at night when he returns. If PJ and/or Duke are up they'll smell the faint but telling scent of blood and death on him* *softly (if anyone is sleeping , normal tone if everyone is up)* No sign of them. We found a j'har woman stabbed teh death. Overkill really. Trail of blood led away. Terris thinks he could make out Maru's and Kage's tracks so he 's trying to find them. *yes, he calls them by nicknames. He sometimes affectionatly calls them Kagemaru, but only when he's being silly*
