Demons in Love

Dolemeck came back from another day at work and just looked somewhat tired. He hung up his wool coat on the wall, dropped his backpack (which was often filled with weapons or supplies for wood carving) near the front door, and began to wander into his bedroom, only to open his door to quite a shock. Diana had somehow managed to get into the apartment he shared with Tyler, and was in her natural form. She had on nothing but a black bikini, and her tail was swinging back and forth as their eyes met.

"How did you..." Dolemeck was trying to piece things together before Diana grasped the sides of his face and gave him a kiss.

"I told your land-lady I was a friend coming for a visit and you forgot to unlock the door for me." She spoke after the kiss and smiled a bit. "Well, in my disguise at least. I doubt she would open the door with this appearance."

"Aye, I understand. but you promised to tell me when you were coming to visit, Diana." Dolemeck looked slightly upset, enough that it caused Diana's smile to fade. "My roommate may not approve of... your natural form. No matter how much I find it utterly attractive. He's a bit... cautious when it comes to the super natural."

"Understandable. Not many are like us." Diana spoke in a matter of fact tone of voice. "It just has been so long since I had seen you, and I was worried, Dolemeck."

"I am sorry, I did not mean to make you worry." His hands gently grasped Diana's. His thumbs would move over her knuckles as he held them. "I have just been so busy. Between the Tyrks within the city, my jobs, and trying to get my GED... I am just so exhausted."

"You might be trying to do too much at once, my darling." Letting off a sigh, Diana guided Dolemeck to sit on the bed with her. "I know I cannot be your psychologist due to our personal relationship, but you need to have time for yourself. Doing so much at once will wear you down, and could lead to another break down."

"It is just so hard. I never knew modern life in this era would be so... complex." He flopped back on the bed, placing his hands over his face. "It is not fair to you, either. I feel I have been so wrapped up with things here that I have neglected you, Diana."

"That is why I am here and wish to speak with you." Diana gave another smile as she straddled Dolemeck's hips in a playful manner. "I am thinking of relocating to Portland. It is not too far from here, and it has a very high class area with computer programmers and CEO's who require my services. Plus their minds are always so fascinating to see. No two humans are alike, after-all. Not even twins."

"So... we could spend more time, together?" He asked as his hands dropped down from his face.

"Of course! It will be fun. We can have romantic dates, go on nature hikes, destroy lesser demons..."

"You may have had me at the lesser demon part." His voice came off as a bit more demonic with that statement.

The Adventures of Young Argo and Dolemeck (Meme)

The playground was busy with many children running about and playing games. Some were seeing how high they could go on a swing set, others seeing who can climb up the slide the fastest, and then there was Dolemeck. He sat by himself crying and away from the other children. Not because he was made fun of for the sailor suit and cape he wore (which his Mum Venus thought was utterly adorable on him). No, it was because a group of older children walked over and took his most precious toy, a stuffed cat named Mr. Beanie! No one had come to offer aide, and just left the young man to cry.

The Next Morning... (The Misadventures of Argo and Dolemeck Part 2)

Diana woke up first with a content sigh. The demon she just met was still asleep, holding her in his arms as though she were something precious to him. The night had been a rough one for him with many ups and downs, and the psychologist in Diana was a tad bit worried about that. This kind man had more stress and anxiety than a small dog in a room filled with kindergarteners! No one should be that stressed out or anxious!

Trying to be as quiet as possible, she slipped out from Dolemeck's arms and put on the top of his "moo cow" PJ's. It was hard for her not to smile back at his sleeping form, as there was just something special about him. Perhaps what she told Cyndi was true, he was a keeper despite his issues.

After another half hour, Dolemeck awoke to the smell of food. He gave off a low groan while sitting up in bed, his hands rubbing at his face. Last night did not happen, did it? As his green eyes looked about the room, he realized it pretty much did. While feeling somewhat more relaxed now, there was still a ting of guilt over what he had done. Though even he knew it was due to his strict catholic upbringing that he felt that way.

"Oh, you finally woke up!" Dolemeck raised an eyebrow as he heard a voice coming from the small kitchen in the rather lavish hotel room. "You know Argo and Phil will probably be coming over to check on you, at least I hope they are. You should get yourself showered up!"

"Diana?" He practically drug himself out of bed, managing to find his sleep bottoms and put them on before heading into the kitchen. He was a bit shocked to find her in the top to his PJ's that he wore, and making breakfast. That was something he normally did. "What are you doing?"

"Making us breakfast. What does it look like?" She turned back to grin at him. "Are you feeling any better?"

"Aye and nay." He admitted, his voice somewhat soft. "I just... I feel somewhat guilty I panicked so much, and that I was not such a gentlemen. I should have courted you properly before..."

"It's okay, really." She smiled back at him, putting some scrambled eggs on a plate for Dolemeck, and then herself. "Look, we both wanted some fun and there is nothing for you to feel guilty about. Nothing that happened between us was bad. It was... beautiful. You actually treated me like a queen!"

"Well, I desired for you to have as much enjoyment as I did." His voice remained somewhat soft. Despite her words, he still felt somewhat embarrassed over their tryst. Dolemeck had fainted and panicked twice that eve. Not only that, he was more high strung than usual. "Miss Diana, I am sorry I..."

"Stop right there." She pointed the spatula at Dolemeck with a grin. "There is nothing to be sorry for last night. We both had a wonderful time and you managed to get some sleep."

"How did you know I had not slept well in... "

"You were very high strung, had fainting spells from stress, and some severe anxiety." Dolemeck could only blink at her words as he took a seat by his plate of eggs. "Dolemeck, how long has this been going on?"

"Ever since I got my memories back." He placed his hands up when the spatula was pointed at him, getting a slight giggle from Diana. "Why do you ask?"

"Because I'm worried about you. I know we just met, but you seem like a wonderful person. Very loving, caring... Dolemeck, you should not be so worried or uptight! But you should also not be as care-free as Argo! He has... immunity to many things, where you do not. And I would hate for you to get hurt."

"I understand, Diana. Believe me, I understand my own mortality." He gave off a sigh as his hands went to rest in his lap. "It is just hard, sometimes. This world is so confusing and much larger than I remembered it. I have been seeing Dr. Samson for my time displacement, depression, stress, and some anxiety disorder."

"That's good you are seeing someone for those things." Diana smiled, placing a hand upon Dolemeck's shoulder. "Did he prescribe you anything?"

"Aye, he did. But I... umm... was too embarrassed to get the medicines he put on those special sheets of paper. I do not know how to get a prescription, nor do I want to worry my friends into thinking I am sick."

"There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Many people suffer from depression or have anxiety disorders." Dolemeck's eyes moved to look back at Diana as she reached over to stroke the side of his face. "You will worry your friends more if you do not take the medicine that Dr. Samson prescribed for you, however. After we meet with Argo and Phil, how about I take you to the Pharmacy and teach you how to get your prescriptions, hmm?"

"That sounds... quite kind of you. But why?" There was some confusion to his face as his own hand reached up to touch Diana's. "Why would you care or help me with such things? You just met me."

"Well, I like you, Dolemeck. You are a sweet man, and I would want you to get better so you can be happier. Plus I am a psychologist by trade, just like Dr. Samson. Only I am better looking."

That got a laugh from the cursed man. It was true, Diana was far better looking than Doctor Samson. And it was nice to have someone like him and not push him away or call him a freak.

"Alright. I would be most honored if you helped me with this... prescription thing. And perhaps afterwards we can go to lunch? That is, if you are not busy!"

"My schedule is quite open, today. So, yes. I would like to go have lunch with you and then we can get to know each other better."

"I would like that." Dolemeck smiled a bit more, finally taking Diana's hand away from his face, and placing a kiss on top of it. "Let me go shower and get ready for when Argo and Phil arrive. There is an extra shower in this room if you need to freshen up, mi'lady."

"No need, I already showered while you were still sleeping. I'll just go get dressed and greet our friends at the door if they show up before you are ready." There was a small giggle that Diana could not contain as Dolemeck kissed the back of her hand. She slipped her hand away from his and gave him a more passionate kiss in return. He came off as more than happy to return such a kiss before getting up and heading to the bathroom to go get ready. "Yep, he is totally a keeper. Flaws and all!"

Pub Crawl

Dolemeck decided to take Bram up on his offer of a good old fashioned Pub Crawl. Well, old fashioned from Bram, as Dolemeck lived in a time when pubs and taverns did not really exist yet. Dressed in an outfit like the one he wore they first met in (White dress shirt, black vest, black dress slacks, and black leather dress shoes), Dolemeck waited form Bram outside of his new workplace, Starbucks. It was best that Bram pick him up, as he still did not know his way around the city, or which places were safe to go to, yet.

Seattle

Dolemeck had no place to stay, so Tyler was kind enough to allow him to crash in his apartment until he could find his own living arrangements or continue his travels to California to visit his parents. Unfortunately, the wounds he suffered made traveling that long a distance a bit impossible, so he just stayed where he was. What made it worse was the news that the Helicarrier was attacked, and the woman he wanted to love, the one he wished to share his true feelings with, was presumed dead. Things could not possibly get any worse.

Laying on the floor of the apartment with a pillow under his head, and a blanket covering his 6' 2" frame, Dolemeck's phone began to ring beside his head. He picked it up and remembered the right button to push this time to talk. Things just got worse, as it was his adopted Mother, Venus, calling.

"Sweetie? Are you alright? You have not called in a few days and I was worried." Venus's voice, despite being over the phone, was still an amazing thing to hear. It was unlike any other voice on this planet, that was for sure.

"Mum, I am okay, I promise." He spoke softly, one hand now moving to rest under the pillow his head rested upon. "I am staying with a friend."

"That is good that you have a new friend, Dolemeck." Venus's cheerful voice continued to remain haunting as it was beautiful. "Look, sweetie... I know about what happened to that girl you really liked, and your father and I are really concerned about you. We were thinking that maybe you should come back home to live for awhile, maybe see Doctor Samson on a more regular basis to help you through this. Losing a first love can be very hard, and in your case it was very traumatic..."

"Mum, I'm fine..." He sighed, trying to give off as little emotion as possible as he talked. He loved his adopted parents, but Venus sometimes smothered him with worry. She worried if he was eating well, would not allow him to really live by himself as he could easily be taken advantage of, and worried how learning of his time displacement affected him. Now, she worried about his broken heart. "Things like this, they just happen. Nikki died as she lived, a hero. And while it hurts I never got to tell her how I felt, she would not want me to dwell upon her death, but move on."

"Dolemeck, a broken heart takes time. And you should be with family to help you through this. You should not be alone right now..."

"Mum, I have demons trying to drag me back to limbo. It's not safe for me to be around family at this point. Even if you are Atlas, I fear for your safety. I will just... I will figure something out. I will give you a call later when I am more settled."

"Alright..." Venus's voice sounded very reluctant to even accept what Dolemeck was telling her. "But if you do not call later, I will call you myself. And make sure you are eating well! We love you, sweetie."

"I love you, too, Mum." Dolemeck gave off a sigh, hanging up his phone. Little did he know he had the phone on speaker the entire time, and that Tyler could hear everything that was talked about.
