Flashback (back to the regular kind)
Kristoff Vernard was nine years old, and everything was finally back to normal. He knew who he was properly again. The Master was done with his dimensionwinding travels -- and it was really him for certain, and Kristoff was privileged to be the only one furnished with proof. And life was quiet and happy again in the castle.

He was reading a book on Goedel when he noticed someone was in the room. He looked over.

"No need to bow, little one. It seems I was unexpected by you." Her tone is playful, as she floats (literally) across the room, examining him carefully, but with a smile.

"Do you know who I am?"

Kristoff, still wide-eyed, watches her and thinks.

He has plenty of information to draw on. "The Enchantress."

Processing a little more, considering the 'by you,' he pauses. "I... I assume the Master is expecting you?"

"Intelligent, and such a strong little face.." She draws a finger under his chin, smiling detachedly, before responding to his question.

"Oh.. Victor knows me well enough to expect me when it suits me; and I know him well enough to be certain of when he can... receive me." She draws her finger away from his chin as she smiles wider, laying on her side in midair.

"I've seen you flitting about in his shadow, little prince. You serve him faithfully and well."

Between the hand touching and withdrawing from his face and the fact that he's practically about to burst with pride at her words, Kristoff's trembling some.

"Thank you," he says, eyes locked on her, a little flushed.

She cocks her head and grins, teeth exposed. "Such a darling little thing you are!" She exclaims as she runs fingers through his hair. "Has the Enchantress made you uncomfortable, little prince?"

She breaks her gaze from his eyes, seeming to look off into the distance. "Is it that I'm the most fearsome thing you've had to look upon in your time with Victor? I would hope you can steel yourself against more frightening visages, if you are in his service."

The boy stays standing straight. "N-not the most fearsome at all, Madam. By most definitions, quite the contrary. And as the heir to the Latverian throne, I would face anything my sovereign and my country require me to, beautiful or terrible." Or both. Little of both. Hence the 'most' in 'most definitions'.

Amora kisses her fingertips and touches his forehead. "A sweet sentiment, my little prince. Your tongue will serve you well in this land's affairs."

She looks off into the distance, apparently sensing something. "Ah... Victor." She turns back to Kristoff. "Little prince, be a dear and tell one of the castle's servants to bring some fine wine and roast meats to your king's bedchambers. We will have need of them... in time. Farewell, for now."

She tucks her hair over her shoulders, stretches languidly, then is gone from the room.

He nodded obediently as she spoke and...once he recovered a moment after her departure, went to speak to the appropriate people about food for the Master's guest. With much warning about being careful to not intrude. He didn't want to accidentally send anyone to his death.

The recovering did take a moment. It had been a very unusual experience.
