Character Name: Jake Wagner
Codename: Midnight
Character LJ (if applicable):
Physical description (face, build, weight): Jake is very clearly Nightcrawler’s son. He has the same build as the older mutant and is covered in blue fur like him too. In fact it would be easy to glance and think Jake was a de-aged Kurt. The only differences happen to be that Jake likes to wear his hair a little longer than Kurt’s short cut. His eyes also don’t glow bright yellow. He stands at about 5’8” and weighs only 135lbs.

When wearing his image inducer, Jake appears as an attractive young man with brown-blond hair and green eyes. He’s very fit and tends to wear generic but casual clothes.

Age: 17
Birthday: November 2
PB: (If using one.) Mutant: Animated Kurt
Abilities:
Powers:
-Altered Body: Just like his father, Jake has a very obvious mutation. He’s got an altered bone structure that allows him to be far more flexible than a normal human. He’s coated in blue fur and has fangs. His eyes aren’t completely glowing like his father’s but his irises are glowing yellow. Jake’s got a long, prehensile tail that’s strong enough to support his own body weight and lift a fully grown adult male off the ground. His hands and feet are much like his father’s and he’s got the same enhanced flexibility.

Super Agility and Reflexes: Jake’s natural body coordination and reflexes are far beyond that which a human can obtain naturally. He’s on par with his father.

-Wall Crawling: Thanks to his altered biology, Jake is able to cling to walls and ceilings in the same way his father does.

-DarkForce Dimension Connection:
--Dark Sight: Jake is able to see in even absolute darkness thanks to the link to the DarkForce powers. When he uses this power, his eyes light up bright gold.

--Fields of Darkness: Jake is able to release fields of darkness to blind opponents. He can reach a maximum of a bubble with a 25 foot radius with him at the center but such a bubble would drain him very quickly. Typically he sticks to bubbles of 15 foot radius. Inside these dark bubbles, he becomes he becomes hidden from sight and his scent is hidden as well.

--Potential: Connecting to the DarkForce dimension gives one access to a lot of powers. Jake has the potential reach a few more abilities from the DarkForce but doesn’t have the training or experience to use them yet. Eventually he may learn how to teleport and possibly construct making. (would need staff approval…)

Skills:
- Acrobatics: Jake has been training with acrobatics with his father since a young age. He’s about as skilled as Kurt was at his age.

-Swordsmanship: Kurt trained his son to wield a sword. Jake knows how to fight with both one and two swords. He could also theoretically wield a third with his tail. He’s about as skilled with the blades as Kurt was at 18.

-Stealth: Just like his father, Jake learned how to be a sneaky little thing. He can move across most terrain soundlessly and knows some ways to avoid electronic detection.

Weaknesses and flaws:
Obvious Mutation: Jake has the same problem as his father. He’s all blue and fuzzy. All the time. He’s got fangs, a tail, and weird hands and feet too. If he wants to look normal he needs to wear an image inducer. It’s given him some issues about his looks.

Human: All the flipping and teleporting aside, Jake’s still just a human mutant. All the things that’d normally kill a person…like a bullet through the heart…would kill him.

DarkForce Connection: Being connected to the DarkForce dimension is typically a dangerous thing. It’s no different for Jake. When using his darker powers, Jake can experience increased aggression and may give in to darker, more violent impulses.

Living Light: The living light is the polar opposite of the DarkForce. So far, only Dagger is known to possess a link ot the Living Light but anyone with such powers could cut through Jake’s darkness like a hot knife through butter. Living Light can also render Jake unable to use his DarkForce powers for about an hour when struck with it.

Character location/Home: Xaviers
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Relatives (living/dead?): Kurt Wagner (father), Laura Goldman (mother, dead), TJ Wagner (alternate reality half-sister), Richie Goldman (half-brother, dead),
Backstory:
The young man known as Jake Wager didn’t have a very exciting origin. After as hard fought battle and victor, a few X-men went out for drinks. Among them was the Nightcrawler, aka Kurt Wager. During the celebration he had a little too much to drink and ended up sneaking off with a fellow mutant who’d been drinking. The woman, Laura Goldman, had a low level attraction power that she didn’t realize she was using when she and Kurt ended up in bed that night. After a very embarrassing morning, they split ways.

Laura became aware she was pregnant when she was half-way across the country. After nine months, she gave birth to a child that shocked her quite a bit. The baby she named Jake looked so very much like the man she’d spent a drunken night with. She debated calling the man, telling him he had a son but decided against bothering him.

After two years of living happily with his mother, something not so nice happened. Laura was diagnosed with a terminal cancer and would be dead within a few months. Plans were made and shortly after Laura’s death, Jake was sent to live with his father.

It was quite a shock for the X-man to have a son handed off to him all of a sudden but Kurt cared for the boy all the same. Jake grew up among the X-men and other mutants, learning and growing. He mostly tried to avoid getting into any of the fighting or chaos, mostly too keep his father from worrying but recently has been thinking of taking on the whole ‘with great power comes great responsibility’ act and joining in his father’s heroics as member of one of the teams.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: No real plans. Maybe have him wander into a thread.

What are you planning to do with this character?: Again, no concrete plans. Just hoping to have some X-related fun with the guy. It would be nice to put him into a team too. Maybe X-Force.

What do you want to see happen with this character?: I’d like him to get over the issues about how he looks. Maybe someone convinces him he doesn’t need the image inducer.

Sample post:
“Aww man…” Jake groans a bit when he notices the fuzzy blue shape in his bed. “I hate shedding season,” he groans, idly scratching his side. The teen mutant sighs and sets out gathering the sheets from the bed. “Time to change them anyway,” he mutters.

After several moments, he has the bed re-sheeted and made and then glances at the calander. “Oh yeah!” he exclaims, seeing the date. He’s got a trip planned with his father for the day. That’s more than enough to brighten the blue man’s mood. “Right, brush, shower, dry…got a lot to do,” he laughs, moving about the room quickly.
