A short oneshot from Joe's point of view. Joe has gotten Demi pregnant, now what?

I hear her in the operating room. They’re getting ready to try to get the baby out. I sit here in the waiting room thinking ‘what have I done? Why did I do it in the first place?’ It wasn’t originally my intention, I tell myself. It wasn’t completely my fault. It just… happened. That one night, when she invited me over, and then that evil kid had to sneak into her house uninvited and tear off our clothes.

But I had still gone along with it; I had still shrugged like it didn’t matter. What have I gotten her and I into? We’re not ready. We’re too young. Sure, with Demi’s parental permission it will be okay. But what will everybody say to this? What will our parents say to this? We’ll probably both be grounded for life.

I sigh. I hear her in the room screaming with pain. I can’t believe what I’ve put her through. And I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen when we get home.

Two minutes pass as I listen and wait. It may only be two minutes, but it feels like two hours of non-stop pain and suffering, inside and out. Suddenly, she walks out of the room with the baby in her hands.

“So,” she says. “What are we going to tell our parents?”

“I don’t know,” I say, starting to cry. Because of me crying, our new little baby starts to cry as well. I sigh. They say new born life is a wonderful thing. But the truth is, it’s a lot more work than that. Especially when it’s between two people who are extremely famous like Demi and I.

Which makes me wonder, what are the fans going to say to this? I see out of the corner of my eye the flash of paparazzi taking a picture. But I am too sad right now to care.

Demi tries to distract me by giving me a kiss. I sigh. Hopefully we’ll be okay, but the truth is, newborn life is a lot more work than that. I have my fingers crossed.
