I'MA TRY?
Give me any one of my characters and one of yours (OR TWO OF MINE!), and I'll tell you how they end up together and about their first-born—even if they are unqualified to have children!

Max Fancourt and Elsie Branstone were of course Hogwarts sweethearts, and if you weren't at some point either extremely annoyed or entirely nauseated by them, then you never had the pleasure of spending more than five minutes in their presence. Well-liked in their respective houses, both went on to become house prefects fifth year and then eventually head boy and girl seventh. Their academic aspirations were not prompted by the hope of garnering the other's attention, however, and it should be noted that it wasn't until the very end of sixth year that Max finally plucked up the courage to ask Elsie if she would like the idea of going on a date with him walking around Hogwart's grounds not on duty, of course, and preferably at a time that it wasn't ungodly dark or blindingly light out. Two promenades around the lake, one ridiculous Madam Puddifoot's meal, and an exceptionally sweet Hogwarts Express goodbye kiss later, the couple finally (to a surprising amount of their peer's chagrin) made their relationship official and thus started the summer of many, many late night love letters.

Both Elsie and Max had lined up prestigious internship opportunities over the summer before their seventh years (Elsie in St. Mungo's and Max in the Minister of Magic's office), but as the law dictated, even busy worker bees had to take an hour off for lunch Monday through Friday. Between eating lunch together everyday, quaint weekend dates, and enough owls to stock shelves worth of desk draws, their workloads did not get the best of them and all-the-happier Max and Elsie stepped onto Platform 9¾ September 1st with the determination and happiness that any dating Head Boy and Head Girl would have.

Their year as Heads went by quietly, much to their relief, as Max and Elsie were for the most part accepted as approachable, fair, and honest by the student body. Their only downfall was, of course, how unbelievably perfect they seemed, which irritated and alienated quite a few of their fellow Seventh years for whatever personal reasons. But seeing as Max and Elsie rarely ever fought, and didn't put much effort into appeasing the thoughts of others concerning them, they spent their final year at Hogwarts happy, delighting in the other's success however big or small, and in love.

After finishing their education, Max's family began to pressure him to travel abroad immediately to begin his Grand Tour. However, not wanting to leave the country, or Elsie for that matter (who had been offered and already accepted a spot in St. Mungo's healing program), he instead decides to stay in England and move in with Elsie to an incredibly small but fitting for their budget flat. Determined to use appease his family while using as little of their money as little as possible, Max takes up his old job in the Minister of Magic's office and he and Elsie tentatively began what they hoped would be the beginning of the rest of their lives together. They spent the next year making jokes about how incredibly poor they were, but their lack of monetary funds never truly bothered them. Max's trust fund would always be there in case of emergencies, and Elsie wouldn't be bound to a life of destitute as an accomplished Healer.

In October of 1976, Elsie's father fell ill, but not ill enough that he was incapable of blessing Max's intent to marry his daughter. Happy to hear that Elsie's father approved of him and the family heirloom he had picked for her ring, Max proposed to Elsie Christmas Eve in their tiny little flat, and celebrated the news with their families the next day after a night of private celebrating themselves.

All wedding plans never came to fruition however, as March 1977 Elsie's father finally loses his battle with his illness. Devastated by this, Elsie begins to unravel. She loses her job at St. Mungo's, damages her relationships with her remaining family, and in a particularly low night, calls off her and Max's engagement. Heartbroken and overwhelmed, Max retreats from their apartment in the middle of the night and for the first time since 1974, Max and Elsie spend 48 hours out of complete contact of each other.

That is, until, Max appears on their doorstep two nights later with maps, letters, two suitcases, and a manner of conviction that neither he nor Elsie had ever seen before. After explaining to her that he has quit his Ministry job that he both knew he never liked anyway, Max spends the rest of the night convincing her to let him help her and leave the country with him so they can both start anew, leave behind everything they don't want or don't wish to remember about the UK, and do everything they could possibly want abroad. She initially resists, but after hours of persuading and many tears, that morning Max and Elsie take the first portkey out to South Africa and only return to UK again for select specific reasons.

Within the year, Max and Elsie become integral parts of their community. Elsie opens up a private healing clinic for low-income families, and Max shares his time between working in the local government and studying to become an animal healer. By 1980, both Max and Elsie have a well-know reputation for a house of healing and finally begin to feel at home with themselves again.

In 1982 they finally, quietly marry in South Africa surrounded by friends who wished they had seen the couple more over the past years. Max and Elsie find themselves back to how they used to feel; happy, and perfect, finally free from everything that had almost destroyed them in England.

Having decided they wanted to be surprised about everything concerning the birth of their child in the summer of 1985, Max and Elsie were quite surprised when after the birth of their son, the Healer told Elsie to "start pushing for the other one now!" Shocked, and happy they had decided to finalize a boy and a girl's name in advance, Benedict and Althea Fancourt ruled their parent's lives much like the circumstances of their birth, with a pleasant and shocked welcome.

Having grown up in South Africa, Benedict and Althea are a bit different than their Ravenclaw housemates. However, that has not stopped them from being just as well-received as their parents were in their Hogwarts days. Smart, curious, and caring, the Fancourt twins also have a surprisingly mischievous streak to them that their father completely attributes to their mother's half. After Hogwarts, as they are completely disinterested in any kind of healing, they have decided, as a pair, to create the next "big invention" that will rock the wizarding world just like their great-grandmother's lunascope. So far nothing ingenious as struck them yet (though they believe it lies within integrating muggle technology) and in the meantime Benedict works part time in a bookstore while he twin sister attends the muggle University of Capetown.

Odette MacFarlan and Derek Dobbs never dated in school because, well, she deemed him quite too young for her. A seventh year involved with a fourth year? Merlin no, she'd never be able to live that down. Drystan especially would never, for the rest of their lives, let her forget that 'underage dalliance' of hers as she knew he would coin it, and out of all the rather pathetic and ridiculous feats she achieved at school, constantly being reminded of something like that just seemed trite in comparison. So, Odette let Derek Dobbs fawn over her through their school years together, knowing perfectly well that she was taking advantage of his crush. But she liked the attention and Derek seemingly enjoyed running around on her behalf for whatever reason, so it was to both party's interests in the end.

He was a nice boy, a fit boy that once she left Hogwarts, Odette wistfully thought during a short lull in exploding snap on the final train ride home, they would most likely never cross paths again.

And that was true, until a little over three hours later when Odette was waiting for her father to 'finish up' with a couple of old Magpies on the platform that she spotted a familiar sandy-haired giant approach the gathering crowd. Frowning, as his presence began to make her think their friendship had really only been about the Montrose Magpies all along, she felt quite like she did when Adrian Mattias approached her in the corridor; spurred, uncomfortable, and perhaps full of a bit of rage. She remembered glaring quite fiercely at him, to which he winked, and promptly hollered over many a witches and wizards' heads,

"IS THAT WILLOW FAIRBURN OVER THERE BY THE BARRIER!? CURRENT MONTROSE MAGPIES CHASER!? I NEED HER AUTOGRAPH!"

With a sweeping motion Derek directed the crowd toward the other side of the platform, and in the moment he glanced back over his shoulder to look at Odette, they experienced a more meaningful exchange that either of them had been expecting or previously underwent with each other in the past three years. Both fell asleep that night with dwindling images of the other.

Derek and Odette didn't meet again until four and a half years later when they ran into each other in London. Odette was incredibly hydrated from yet another night out and was nearly ready to depart from another quidditch party when who should she happen upon waiting in line for cloak check?

"DEREK DOBBS!" Odette shrieked, and much to her new gentleman friend's dismay (as he thought they would be going somewhere a bit more quiet), she immediately pulled Derek out of line and marched back into the noisy party so they could talk. How was his tall self? Was he still fifteen? Would he hold her drink? Did he know how fit he had been? How he fit he currently was? She had to know.

Odette woke up the next morning with short, sprinkled memories and decision making from the night before, so it was fortunate that Derek was there, lounged beside her, to fill in the gaps. Mildly embarrassed, Odette only stayed for breakfast because he promised an excellent meal for his number one Hogwarts fantasy.

Breakfast was sex on the kitchen table, and why Odette had been expecting at the least dried toast she would never know.

But soon staying just for breakfast turned into staying just for lunch, which then turned into just for dinner, and then they were both so tired from skipping out on all their occupational duties for the day, it was deemed appropriate for her just to stay the night again and make it a clean twenty-four hours. Odette left Derek's apartment the next morning under the begrudging acceptance that she really couldn't miss practice two days in a row, in the process leaving Derek with a lot to think about concerning his romantic life. Or lack there of, actually, because was there really a lot to think about when the witch you previously thought you fancied (and fancied you back) refused to leave her sorry, repugnant excuse for a boyfriend?

After a bit of vaguely illegal sleuthing, an abuse of his Hit-wizard connections got Derek Odette's home address in Scotland. Odette returned home that day to the reclined form of Derek Dobbs on her doorstep, feigning that he thought he may as well get use to the country for when they inevitably married and reproduced many, many, many athletic Hufflepuff children. Or the other way around, he wasn't going to be a stickler about that. His words did earn himself a smack and a heavy quidditch bag dropped into his arms, but in the end Derek was allowed admittance within. Odette had been content with feeding him whatever scraps she had lying around in her cupboard and sending him on his merry, youthful way, and even had gone as far to retreat and find something to stuff in his unceasing flabbering mouth. When she returned to the living room with a questionable pear in her hands, Odette was met with a starkly naked and proud Derek Dobbs stating that, he felt, they had a bit of unfinished business to attend to and would he like to join her?

Another day of relinquished duties passed, though this time Derek and Odette did venture out into public for dinner. Upon returning they were met with an irritatingly displeased Drystan Fawcett, and it was quite amazing how easily the past took over the present. Within minutes Drystan had Odette by the arm with one hand and was forcefully chucking small pebbles he had collecting while waiting for the couple to return at Derek with his other. Derek disapparated with the surliest and smuggest look on his face, too entirely pleased now to be permanently shooed off by the likes of Drystan Fawcett.

After those four days in late January of 1979, Derek and Odette didn't drift apart as everyone (Drystan) hoped they would. Instead, something of a full-fledged relationship was born, though it did take a while for either of them to accept the other in realistic terms. Derek had a nasty habit of establishing that they were pre-engaged, and Odette just simply couldn't remember who he was the next twenty-four hours after said establishing, so their relationship was not without time and its own unique faults.

In the beginning they were not untouched by the war, leaving both of them unemployed in the fall of 1979 thanks to the M.A.G.I.C. Act. When reinstated, Odette worried more frequently for Derek's life with the increasingly conflict of the war and his profession, but he quickly brushed off her concerns. After all, he pointed out one night, she was in a highly dangerous profession as well and she didn't see him attempting to coerce her into quitting with the use of his honey-soft breasts. Deterred but still determined to ensure she would not come home one day to a Ministry Official waiting at her door, they promised that when one retired from their job, the other would hang up their puce or white/black robes.

1980 was the year of break-ups and make-ups, for no matter how fierce the fight or personal strife, both experienced great concern and anxiety for the other's safety in the burgeoning war when apart for too long. 1981 became the year that everything changed, and Derek and Odette finally became engaged mere minutes after learning of the news of the Dark Lord's demise. They didn't get married until two years later, after experiencing two rounds of previously unaware sibling news. 1984 was the year that Odette almost murdered Derek in his sleep nearly every night, and in 1985 they welcomed a semi-planned (on one parent's part) offspring.

Dax Dobbs is the utter reincarnation of his parents, an heir fit for the Dobbs/MacFarlan helm. Energetic, loyal, smarmy, cunning, and stuck with his father's sense of justice, Dax grew up in a chaotic household and loved every moment of it. He found himself with many, many friends even prior to arriving at Hogwarts, and thought himself quiet the lucky one to be dealt with such good fortunes of birth, character, and family. His parents always encouraged him to do the right thing (unless doing the wrong thing was more fitting) and follow his heart (unless it was being incredibly stupid), and always come out on top looking the best.

Dax ascended to his practically god-given throne in the Hufflepuff den with ease and walked among his peers as the best of them in nearly every way when he arrived at Hogwarts. Of course, he was almost nearly a Slytherin, a fact he only confided in his mother in one late-night owl of panic, but only he and the Sorting Hat knew about that and his mother laughed it off with a rather funny story, so he promptly never let that almost reality get the best of him. After school, Dax went on to become one of Gringott's most famous Curse-breakers, using his charming looks and personality to make an image of himself. Sometimes he is hired by the Ministry to help aide with theft cases, and as of now his guilty person's catch count is three. Dax sees to double his statistics by the next year and really make his parents wonder why they had ever let him leave the house in the first place.
