Storyline for Justin Finch-Fletchley
HOUSEMATE RELATIONS SEVENTH YEARSo The Good Friend || Susan BonesIt seems that based on their shared company and general friendliness they fell into a friendship that couldn't be avoided. Justin's always liked Susan's company and sense of humour. She also helped out a great deal in studying for Herbology and Astronomy - which he struggled slightly in himself. He enjoys her playfulness and general company. Like all of his friends, Justin has made a habit of watching out for her where he deems necessary. Ultimately, he'd definitely go out of his way to help her where he can. o The Good Friend || Megan JonesJustin has liked Megan Jones' company from the first day they met at Hogwarts. She's cheerful and bubbly and rarely fails to bring a smile to his face. Whether they're chatting about the newest quidditch strategies, newest gossip, or helping the poor girl finish her procrastinated homework - they're usually in good spirits. In many ways he's found the girl to be great fun and they've managed a steady and pleasant friendship over the years. o Best Mate || Ernie MacMillano --- || Evelyn Riverso Best mate || Zacharias SmithIn the beginning it's fair to say that these two had their share of differences. But with time they've formed a surprisingly strong friendship. Justin seems to understand Zach's personality more than most. He blames his wealthy muggle friends from home who prepared him for the wrath of Zacharias Smith. They know details about each other that not everyone knows, they have their share of inside jokes, play harmless pranks on each other, and happily get drunk together when it's necessary. Zach helps keep Justin laid back while it seems Justin tries his best to censor Zacharias from making a complete ass of himself. They're so opposite in personality that it all seems to work out in the end. o Good Friend || Garrick SummerbyIt seems that sharing a dorm together it's imperative to be civil with others. Thankfully Garrick and Justin managed a pretty decent friendship early on in their Hogwarts careers. There's a mutual respect that keeps them from suffocating each other while the other one's sleeping. They have their share of inside jokes, shared secrets, and stories that are happily retold in social gatherings. SIXTH YEARSo The Surrogate Kid Brother || Booth HuntingtonJustin and Booth hit it off fairly well. Justin, being a friendly sort went out of his way to help Booth adjust to the new found world that was Hogwarts. With their personalities it seemed that they adopted a sort of older/younger brother dynamic. Justin's no bull approach to things took it upon himself to look after Booth who seemed to lack the ability to stand up for himself in certain situations. That in turn translated to having to help the boy along both socially and academically. Justin's always found Booth to be a nice kid and a decent friend. They might not spend all of their time together, but it's pretty much known that they're friends and Justin's always around if Booth ever needs to talk. o The Surrogate Kid Sister || Melanie Roberts Melanie was one of the first first years Justin introduced himself to in the fall of 1992. As luck would have it she was also one of the first younger years he felt himself flexing his "protective muscles" for. In many ways, Justin's found himself looking after Melanie like he does his kid sister. Always looking to protect her even when she doesn't need protecting. Though this can be relatively annoying at times - he can't seem to help himself. There's just a sense of vulnerability and innocence to her that Justin's found himself eager to look after. They have a close bond that makes them privy to keeping a number of each other's secrets and being aware of one another's quirks and personalities. o The Odd Ball | Gelsey Kennicot Justin's never really been able to get to know Gelsey. In someways her strangeness has kept the boy from having the undying urge to interact with her frequently. He's learned over the years that no matter how often he tries to talk to her or be friendly it usually ends in awkward silence. He's convinced the girl just doesn't like him...so he gives her her space. INTER-HOUSE RELATIONS SEVENTH YEARSo The Academic Challenge || Hermione GrangerAs everyone and their brother know, Hermione Granger is the best of the best when it comes to academics. Justin's always admired her intelligence and courage to show it. Like most he's always eager to best her in marks, and though the occasions are rare when they occur Justin's prone to victory dances. They get on fairly well otherwise and have since the start of their academic careers. Though Hermione can be a bit overbearing Justin's managed to accept that that's her nature and it shouldn't be held against her. All in all he finds the Gryffindor relatively decent and doesn't mind her company. o The Academic Rival || Morag MacDougalJustin and Morag never really hit it off and have yet to do so. The Ravenclaw's personality never appealed to the Hufflepuff and it's a feeling that's been relatively consistent their entire Hogwarts careers. Because of this they've always had a tension and a particular level of snark between them. Along with this mutual dislike came an undeclared rivalry in the classroom that's only fueled the fire. Justin's competitive nature and his stubborn insistence to not let snotty purebloods like Morag have the pleasure of claiming superiority of intelligence has encouraged a near desperate need to beat her where he can - through marks. The fact that the girl's a clever Ravenclaw seems to keep him on his toes at all times. But really he wouldn't have it any other way. o The Classroom Friend || Katherine Spinks These two took some time to warm up to each other. It wasn't until 5th year did they find themselves grouped together in Herbology and forced to get to know one another beyond just names. Justin thinks Katherine's a pretty likable girl. She's clever enough and she pulls her own weight for the most part. He has no objections to her company and they're prone to small talk from time to time. Recently Katherine's taken an interest in running to release stress and Justin's offered to be her jogging partner. SIXTH YEARSo The Grudging Acquaintance || Samuel HarperThe tale of Sam Harper and Justin Finch-Fletchley can be traced back to the fall term of 1992. During a period of great discrimination against muggle-borns and a heightened rivalry between slytherin and the rest of the school, the pair managed to butt heads constantly. With Sam's bitter name calling and Justin's thinned patience it was no surprise that the pair eventually applied what was learned in Dueling Club upon each other in broad daylight. Unfortunately, this resulted in a few days in the infirmary and two weeks worth of detention. Justin, or course, was petrified shortly after the detentions were distributed and served it while unconscious. Naturally grudge filled dislike was formed between them and they certainly don't get along to this day. o A Badly Timed Foe || Charles Vaisey One fine day during the very busy O.W.L testing week of 1996 Justin and Charles Vaisey were both having relatively bad days. An accidental shoulder collision was followed with a rather nasty exchange of insults and a few threats. Charlie's temper got the better of him and he opened fire on the back of the older Hufflepuff. The [NAME] jinx sent Justin flying forward only to smack his head on the stone floor. Justin was in the infirmary and unconcious for 12 hours - forcing him to miss the O.W.L Muggle Studies test entirely. Thanks to a fellow house member who was witness to the exchange their biased testimony saved Justin from serving detention - unlike Charlie who served detention for a very long time. Justin never got over the fact that the slytherin's little stunt nearly cost him his chance to take his Muggle Studies O.W.L (thankfully they him make it up). They still have a fairly mutual dislike for each other and show it through snark and bad mouthing one another. ~ o ~ o ~ o ~ o ~ o ~ CURRENTLY CASTINGCurrently Casting all storylines. Leave a comment email or AIM me! We'll get this ship sailing in no time. I'll storyline just about anything and everything all you gotta do is ask. o Yule Ball Date (No post-romance) o 1st magical Girlfriend! (5th year time frame) o 6th year girlfriend o More! Potential Plots (just general ideas) o #1: (Strained Friendship Plot) Justin would be exceptionally opposed to one of his friends (most likely female) getting involved romantically with a negatively viewed love interest. This plot would require that the male would be someone Justin's never been to keen on. Most likely a plot that would involve the female to constantly claim that the asshat love interest is actually "really sweet once you get to know him." Main goal would be to experience tension on the friendship as well as to allow him to flex his protective muscles for his female friends. (reserved for Melanie Roberts) o #2: (Romantic Heartbreak Plot) Justin and a good friend (preferably male) would find themselves attracted to the same female. The female would undoubtedly choose one or the other without knowing she had two blokes vying for her attentions. Thus encouraging an achy sense of betrayal between Justin and said male character. o #3: (Unexpected Romance #2) Justin and a female type end up getting a lot closer than they would have ever thought possible. He'll eventually recognize her charm, wit, and affection; while she doesnt return the favour and prefers to ignore his obvious advances. o #4: (Bullies make Enemies) Justin and a male bully like character would end up deuling over a) an insult/threat b) a bullied younger year/friend c) all of the above of d) other. The other character would find himself injured and in the infirmary for 2 weeks with severe wounds - potential scaring. Justin would be faced with a months detention and a life long enemy. o #5: o #6: |
