I was being sarcastic. Clearly, it's unlikely someone would ever volunteer to do anyone else's homework - and I know that. And so does everyone else. Hence the reason it should be a source of amusement as opposed to be taken seriously and chastised.

It's on the same scale as asking someone to go to the loo for you because you're too lazy to get up and do it yourself. Or asking someone to send you a hug in the post. You can't physically do those things for other people - it's a figure of speech to entice smiles and good humour.

Why do the most intelligent people not get it, Hermione? Do they extract your funny bone at birth or something?
