[it would be good if this day was just like any other day, get up, work, work some more and then check by his brother's house to make sure everything was okay and then return home for a nights rest. today was that one time of the year that he hated. the anniversary of his father's death. normal families would go to the cemetery and pay their respects, have a drink or two and a dinner in honor but not when you were born to the father of one of the more powerful heads of organized crime in the city. it was bad enough that you had to be reminded by his lieutenants that you were a traitor to the family in the grand scale coming together of the men under his control but to be trailed by your own, two undercover officers easily picked watching him throughout the day. born into a family and no matter what you done, you were always persecuted by it, regardless of innocence.]

[now the rest of the night was free, taking to a local bar holding his own commemoration for him, cracking the seal on the second bottle of whiskey and pouring it into the glass that long lost its ice.] Cheers. [raises to glass up to no one but the row of bottles across the back wall, knocking down the drink no longer feeling the burn. everything was comfortably numb.]

It's almost two in the morning. [answers for him, reaching over without concern for personal space and feeling the back of his head for a bump, to make sure he isn't bleeding. has never considered herself to even be very good at seduction at all, but isn't here to seduce him for the one night stand, and knows men are at least very touch oriented from research.] Does this hurt? [presses down hard, estimating about where his head made contact with the bar.]

[you can't go past a bit of human contact, something as simple as a soft hand on top of yours was enough to draw attention to it, give enough of a side effect as a hand down your pants grabbing your junk. a concerned stranger was surprising but in a good way. people never went out of their way to help others anymore.] There might be a bruise in the morning. Right now, don't feel much. [can feel the hand, rolling his head back closer to it, pausing, enjoying it, maybe happy memories. isn't even a one night stand kind of guy but he is human and humans crave closeness and sleeping back to back with your brother isn't the kind you want. this is a stranger! no, bad Hashirama. call up your brother now and listen to him whine about the hour and then get him to pick you up.] Can I buy you another drink?

[feels another little pang of guilt for doing this, because it's almost too easy, and it's obvious Hashirama is just... lonely. really lonely. can sympathize, as nice as it feels to be touched, has missed doing the touching. not even intimately, just the closeness. doesn't care about sex or some deeper meaning of making love. is already in love, that isn't an issue. but has longed to be embraced, and knows she shouldn't because it puts her at an emotional vulnerability. didn't consider this before starting the night out, and is sure fucking him on the first date won't be approved. Hashirama is a bit too drunk to perform well in that area anyway, so doesn't think it's going to be an issue. would almost prefer it, since it's easier to understand carnal urges over emotional ones.] Yeah. You can. [offers a smile, letting her hand drop down to the bar, next to his.] You should drink some water. [scolding tone.] Start getting some of the toxins out to lessen your hangover tomorrow.

[takes his seat again, thankfully on it, and asks the bar tender for another round of that kiwi something and just like a scolded child, gets that glass of water. puts the cap back on his bottle to take home and hands over the money when the two drinks and placed on the counter top. is going to be eating instant noodles for a week to make up the costs for the night.] Somehow, I don't think I will avoiding that. [lightly chuckles at himself and stops just as quick, gulping down the water, already lost enough from dehydration.] So why are you trying to socialize? Were you meant to meet someone?

[just takes a little sip of sugary... badness. but its the best you could get at a bar without you know, drinking alcohol.] You ever get the urge to just... go outside sometimes? I mean, places with people. I'm not usually... I don't talk easily to people sometimes, but I do enjoy being around them. Sitting at a crowded cafe, just people watching.

I've always felt I never quite fit in, so I prefer to just watch. But sometimes it's just too lonely to watch everybody else's life. So I thought I would go to a bar, have a few drinks, and just talk to anybody around. But I ended up just watching those guys over there play pool. And everybody else here is with somebody, but you weren't. So even if you ended up being a jerk, I came her to try, so at least I did that.

I understand what you are saying completely. [unfortunately a little bit too well. as much as his obsession... no, passion, was for catching Madara, all of the man hours he put into the case so far hadn't got them anywhere. all of that time wasted where he could have been out with someone or at home with his wife. every species needed interaction with their own kind. Hashirama wanted to go and spend time with people as well but the drive to stay and work was too high and kept him in. spend most of his life watching and not participating in the lives of others.]

Hopefully I can make the night worth while then. I can't offer much but some foolish rambling and a refill on your kiwi, but company is always good. I have been told I was a jerk before so I can't say that you might not think that. If you think so, I can at least tell you who is going to win that game over there so if you get in fast enough, you could place a bet on the winner and clean up. [now is just rambling. feels good not to think about work or the bad stuff that surrounds his family. just talk about anything.]

... You know who will win? [intrigued, turning momentarily to glance behind them to the pool table. has been watching Hashirama all the time, and knows he didn't turn around once, but... oh, the mirror behind the bar. that would explain it. gives a thoughtful hum and turns back to him, playing with the straw in her glass.] Let's make a wager on that. If you can guess or not. If you guess correctly... I'll give you my number and let you take me out for dinner. [be cocky in your flirting... that was a specially marked note in her directions.] But if you guess incorrectly... then you have to keep buying me drinks for the rest of the night, and I won't give up my number.

[even drunk, you can't fight cop instincts to watch what is going on around you. that pool table had been the source of looking at over the night while he refilled his glass, noticing something peculiar about it.] Deal. [holds onto the chair and swivels around on his butt, arms back holding himself up.] The one in white shirt will lose. [almost 100% certain of that.] The other one will steal this victory.

White shirt is being hussled. Four game streak, low bets, not much lost. Cocky red shirt came in all up in arms about being the one to finally put him down, doing for the drunk act lowering his skill level. White has gotten cocky in his winning but the others would have been playing the part for it or genially sucked. The bet they are playing for now will make up the losses and triple them. Coming down to the end, red will show his true colors and give up the act... and crush him.

You noticed all of that while drinking that whole bottle? I'm impressed. [has always been street smart, but the world of hustling and card games and tricking people for money was always somewhat of a foreign concept. perhaps is just foolish enough to believe there's good out there somewhere, and if you wait long enough maybe someone will pity the starving kid. or you could die. wonders if she didn't have someone to make her steal, if she would have starved to death waiting.] ... [watches the game continue only partially paying attention, wandering thoughts for a moment before snapping out of it when there's a sudden cheer from the guy in the red shirt, and the friends of the white shirt all jeering in disappointment.]

So you were right.

We both have our skills. [still got it. age hasn't slowed him down one bit.] It was easy to spot, you just have to know what you are looking for. [and now he had won something, a prize of date and a number... the question was after he woke up the next morning, would he remember and would be actually dial that number.] It wasn't a fair victory, I already knew the outcome before it happened so how about I still buy you one more drink as the runner up prize.

[just as this one is finished, the slurp of a straw against the ice heard loudly as if a punchline to some good comedic timing.] Deal. [takes a tentative sip of the drink, as if unsure about it. knows exactly what she ordered, but... yeah, has to pretend. probably shouldn't be good at this, but just because she's doing well doesn't mean she enjoys it. had to pretend as if she couldn't handle liquor at all, then order something strong, and pretend to be drunk to get back to his place, then wait for him to pass out, then install certain equipment... one step at a time.] Aah, this is strong. [looks unsure, frowning a little.] I don't actually know what I just ordered, but the first time I ever went into a bar, someone ordered that from across the room, and they were so excited about ordering I thought that it must have been something good... [bites lip.] But don't worry, you paid for it so I'll finish it. Maybe if I drink it faster. [and down it's going to go!... gradually. little cough.] ... Mm, not really close, but not far. I had to take the train to get here... so more far than close. I wanted to go somewhere with people I definitely didn't know, for a new experience.

You shouldn't... drink... [that was gone too fast. one drink couldn't get a person drunk, as drunk as what he was at least. she will be fine.] I live down that way, sort of close. It is late and the train at this hour is bad. Not saying that I am a good person or anything or you should trust me, but I have a bed and a couch. You can sleep on the bed, if you think you can't... get home.

[but you would be with a safe person. has a pretty badge. don't worry about bad guys that want to break him shhh. they won't harm you.] Have you drinkened anything before? Or your first time? [has to put arm around to stop the unsteady way, knowing floor will hurt in the morning.] You should sit down on something more stable. [under normal circumstances would have punched any guy who approached her that way right the fuck out, but has to play this part and... sort of enjoys it. not in that she has to pretend to be a lightweight, needy girl but... feeling like someone cares. there's comfort in at least knowing more about Hashirama than he revealed, which wasn't a whole lot, and it makes it easier to relax. but still, there's an embrace happening... should it be?] Yeah, outside. [lets him lead her out, feeling embarrassed at the few eyes that look up and watch them leave. despite being able to play coy and calm, relationship sorts of things... are also new. like every girl had the fantasies about the prince charming figure, but her price charming is far from ideal. but when you're saved, you're saved. you can't start finding faults in someone you owe your life to. but can't help but wonder, if that prince charming saw her right now... would he be jealous?]

[knows as they step outside that there's someone out there, either from Madara or connected to him, watching her, making sure she's doing her job... stills, leaning back against Hashirama just slightly, as if needing the support. looks over the landscaping, wondering where they're being watched from.] ... This makes me feel young. You really haven't drank much before, have you? [its refreshing for a woman of her age not to have gone a little wild and ordered a drink, a good stiff one just to try it. she was appealing to him so much right now, it was playing to everything he wanted, almost everything. blond and big breasts would have sealed the deal.] Take a few deep breaths and relax. Enjoy the feeling, it's not bad. If you drink for the sake of drinking, it will get you to but if you do it for relaxing purposes, you feel refreshed. People always think that. There is nothing wrong with offering a friendly arm of help but today in society, everything takes things the wrong way. Just a rough day at work. [she is attentive. loose lips not good. not going to come out and say that he is a son of a deceased mafia boss. not good for trying to make friends or pick up... not that he is picking up.] Just saying as general, people are bound to their heritage and don't get a chance to redeem even if they shouldn't need to.
