Perhaps you all haven't heard, or perhaps you had mistaken it with one of my other near-gallivants down the aisle, but I would like to announce that I am truly, happily getting married.

You may begin calling me Mrs. Gray at your earliest convenience.

The ring is perhaps a mite smaller than-- The ring is to die for, of course. I will follow with photos as soon as possible.

It stopped being our world a long time ago, Cecilia. Don't pretend to know what it's like to be married to a man who wants nothing to do with you because you can't give him an heir to be a part of it.

Yes, I would imagine that spending over 20 years of my life thrown about by it, surviving the death of the man I would have hoped to spend my life with and being paired with two different men who were nothing more than bargains to deal with my disgraced status as the lover of a convicted man and later of one turned down in favor of a halfblood has really not been quite enough experience of that world for a lifetime.

You are too right, Kalista, I know absolutely nothing and have not suffered half the amount as any other well-bred lady that ever lived, and had only I bothered to try harder perhaps I too could be stuck quite like yourself in a loveless marriage!

I am so glad we have this out in the open, for I did always feel so very selfish when I chanced to recall the very ease with which my life has progressed!

So it was alright for the both of us to be disgusted by the fact that Donovan Rookwood chose some halfblood slut over you, but it's completely unreasonable for me to not be accepting of your engagement to one?

You're a hypocrite.

Oh no, Kalista, I thoroughly understand your reasoning--for as you so kindly pointed out, in contradiction to your previous statement, that I do in fact know what it is like to be engrossed in that world of sorry selfish people who look down upon everyone and everything not to their level of perfection. In fact, I never said that I expected nor wished for your approval, so you are perhaps grasping for straws in the wrong place in this argument.

So please cease throwing yourself at me with your criticisms when I have only ever done my very best since this all began to write you out of my life, knowing and understanding full well why you would never approve.

Perhaps you could take a step back and realize that it is not I who is always coming to you to start a quill and parchment argument. Perhaps save your ink for somewhere not my journal the next time you see I have written an entry.
