He's pretty much thrown himself off a cliff emotionally. Whatever this is between them, he can't see it going anywhere or ending well. At the end of the day as long as she's being blackmailed he can't trust her and as long as she's on the opposite side of the law...well what can he do about that? Might as well enjoy it while it lasts, he likes her more than he wants to admit.
Her arms pull him onto the couch almost on top of her and he tries very hard not to accidentally fall on her.
