Thomas and Sarah- Meme- Angst- Seperation (AU)
She'd been gone for months without a word and with no way to trace her. Just vanished into thin air. Had it been anyone else he'd be mad that they could even pull that off without him finding them. But with her...well he'd admit he was more hurt than anything. If she was going to up and leave he'd expected...well at least a goodbye, or some note or something. Not just an empty place and no leads to follow.

Which is why she's the last person he expects to see when he drops by a supermarket in one of the smaller neighbourhoods on his way home. There's an initial moment of shock and then it hits him what she's buying and her...condition. He probably scares a few of the other customers by the way he stands there, eyebrow twitching in anger, and glaring daggers at the young woman innocently making her purchases.

He never makes it home. Instead he follows her, recklessly still in his civilian ID, as far as he can without alerting her to his presence to where she's staying. Still blinded by anger, he doesn't wait till it's completely dark and changes to Robin gear to sneak into her living room ahead of her.

A tall shadow looms behind Sarah's couch, eyebrow still twitching, as she enters.

	"Well that and I don't like their idea of shelving," she admits. That actually helps. She gives him a tiny smile and starts to look around to see if she could spot something that looked right for a nursery. There was a lot of stuff aimed towards teenagers and kids. 	He doesn't mention that the last shelves she had from Ikea had met an...unfortunate fate. She'll find him staring and frowning a bit at some children's shelves with little birds all over them. Some of which resemble robins awfully closely. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Yeah...let's get out of here," he says, already backing out of the store. Batman sheets. What was this world coming to?

"Oh? Like no jumping off tall buildings I suppose, even though that is tons of fun," he shoots her a small smile.

They leave as fast as possible, Thomas ignoring her giggling over more Batman-themed merchandise, and to the other store before she has a chance to see the bedroom display of an entirely Batman-themed toddler's room. No way was he allowing this place to give her ideas.

	She had snuck a store catalog into her purse. She was going to tease him the first time she set a crib up. "Not until he's fifteen. Not.... solo anyways," she decides very firmly. Sorry Thomas but she won't budge on that. "Besides, I think that other place might have something more to our tastes," motioning to the displays in the front windows. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He raises an eyebrow at her, "You thought about that already? About crimefighting?" That honestly shocked him. It hadn't yet occured to him to even think about that. 	"Not seriously. Sometimes it feels like he's trying to back-flip or something. But I think that's just my body not adjusting easily to this." 	"I thought you said you wanted something...bright?" Because nothing here was looking very bright. All things given he prefered dark colours but probably not for a kid's room. ...This might mean they were going back to the store with the abomination that was that Batman rooom. 	"Go...back? To the other store with the Batman bedsheets?!" The look on his face tells her he doesn't think it's a good idea. "But...yeah this isn't for a nursery." "Okay, did you want one last look around the store? I need to run and grab something at one of the other ones but I'll be back in 15 to 20. Meet at the car and we'll go for lunch. Bacon for sure." No he will not be questioning this craving, especially since it's bacon. And she needs to learn to love bacon, he's not going to push his luck and mess this rare opportunity up.

She decides that's a good plan. She nods at him.

"I might be able to find something I like." She gives him a slight smile. She thought she saw something she liked in a corner and look a close look before she decided she had to go with it.

It had tiny little foxes running up and down it chasing after birds. That was just way too cute.

She's getting it because it's for the baby. Really. Given the size of the box and everything she decides she'll have the thing shipped to her building. It takes her almost twenty minutes to do the whole thing and she added some batman sheets to the order just because.

And she gets back to the car looking very pleased with herself.

	Poor Thomas once he sees that box. He may need to change his codename because of it. If anything it should be the robin chasing the fox! He's already waiting at the car and gives her a curious look, "Oh? Buy anything." There better not have been any Batman stuff he thinks. Or robin stuff. Especially those shelves. He gives her a suspicious look, not quite believing this box was so innocent, as he gets into the car.

"Sure...normal." He waits till she's gotten in too before fishing out something from his jacket.

"Here," he says while handing her a phone. "It's a pay-as-you-go one. So if you need me or something you can reach me," he shows her the phone he got for himself just for this purpose. The phones aren't expensive, in fact they're just the basic ones, but if she needs something he wants her to feel like he's there for her and she doesn't need to run again.

	He may have also put a lot of tracking devices in it. Obviously though. "So...now you have no excuse that you couldn't contact me. Feel free to, even if it's not for anything important."
