Thomas and Sarah- Meme- Angst- Seperation (AU)
She'd been gone for months without a word and with no way to trace her. Just vanished into thin air. Had it been anyone else he'd be mad that they could even pull that off without him finding them. But with her...well he'd admit he was more hurt than anything. If she was going to up and leave he'd expected...well at least a goodbye, or some note or something. Not just an empty place and no leads to follow.

Which is why she's the last person he expects to see when he drops by a supermarket in one of the smaller neighbourhoods on his way home. There's an initial moment of shock and then it hits him what she's buying and her...condition. He probably scares a few of the other customers by the way he stands there, eyebrow twitching in anger, and glaring daggers at the young woman innocently making her purchases.

He never makes it home. Instead he follows her, recklessly still in his civilian ID, as far as he can without alerting her to his presence to where she's staying. Still blinded by anger, he doesn't wait till it's completely dark and changes to Robin gear to sneak into her living room ahead of her.

A tall shadow looms behind Sarah's couch, eyebrow still twitching, as she enters.

	It really does. Her shoulders had been almost rail straight because of how uncomfortable she felt. Now they were starting to look less tense. "I'm sorry... I'm bad at taking help. Remember when I got shot?" She peeks over at him. "I'll do better this time. I really didn't think that painting would hurt me but I'm sorry I did it because I hurt your feelings." It's kind of nice to have his hands on her again, just to feel closer. All this had put so much distance between them.

"Yeah...you scared me there. Don't go getting shot again. Of the two of us I should be the one that happens to, criminals shoot vigilantes more than thieves." He's kind of glad she can't see his face now, "And...I don't want to hurt your feelings either. I'm sorry if I ever did."

	"Considering I'm going into semi-retirement as a thief I think I can manage that." Oh she was doing her best to not get teary eyed either. He was very good at making her feel all kinds of things. "Well I'm pregnant so right now doing any jobs that I'd like to do would be too risky. Once the baby is born I'll need to focus my time on him for a few months until I get an idea of just what we both need and what I can do... Honestly I have enough funds to retire for the next few years but I want to do things so I can keep my feet wet. You never know what might come up and sometimes people pay big bucks to recover stolen items. That's a thought I played with. A few tough jobs every now and then once I'm ready could keep me happy," she explains with care.

	He doesn't want to say this but he really has to. "So...you'll still be a thief after then?" He's not sure why that should make a difference, she'd been a thief ever since he'd known her, but...something about her going back to that after all this was...complicated. 	"I don't know. It was a thought," she said with a sigh. "I need a job of some kind or I might get stir crazy. Not working is... weird. Since I turned ten I got to help out in little ways on jobs. He really doesn't want her to be a thief anymore, because it'd mean that...well the whole situation with the two of them and the kid would be harder and well, he didn't see how it could work. But he doesn't want to ask her to give it up either, it doesn't feel right to do that.

"You could do...insurance or security consultation. Lots of retired thieves go into that, nobody blinks." In his world his mother had opened a small art gallery, with unrivalled security and did the security consultation on the side. It was just a suggestion but he hoped she'd consider it.

	Thinking her lower back was better now, he moves on to her upper back and shoulders. "And you'd get to break in to prove it. Lot of the same job requirements but nobody will be arresting you." 	"I came here from Turkey. Jet lag," she says innocently before mentally cursing herself for letting some intelligence slip but it is Thomas and when they go see the doctor at some point he'll be able to remind her to mention that because it's important for the baby. 	"Turkey huh? Where else did you go?" He says this casually as if he's just making small talk, but he really does want to know where she runs to. "No reason it can't be like that again," he smiles. "I'm sorry to hear that," he quietly says. He wants to tell her he understands a bit, he's lost his real family. While he has a version of his father and brothers back...it's not the same. He won't even think about his mother because that depresses him too much. "...I'm sure she was very beautiful then." This was hard, he wanted to get off the topic of mothers and family but at the same time he wanted to learn more about hers.

"Really? What was this thing that got you out of your funk? Other than nice weather I guess."

	When he's finally done surprising her he pulls back and just grins. Sure he'd always found her attractive, and the breaking into things was just an added bonus, but her version of 'crimefighting' somehow just made her that much more appealing. How did she manage to push all his buttons? In the good way. He really needed to figure that out. But first he steals a quick kiss and just grins again.

"Popcorn to watch a certain thief fight crime. I'm kinda proud now," he teases. This definitely felt good, to have her in his lap and flirting again. Of course these moments of what they used to be couldn't ever last long but he was already relishing in them.
