Thomas and Sarah- Meme- Angst- Seperation (AU)
She'd been gone for months without a word and with no way to trace her. Just vanished into thin air. Had it been anyone else he'd be mad that they could even pull that off without him finding them. But with her...well he'd admit he was more hurt than anything. If she was going to up and leave he'd expected...well at least a goodbye, or some note or something. Not just an empty place and no leads to follow.

Which is why she's the last person he expects to see when he drops by a supermarket in one of the smaller neighbourhoods on his way home. There's an initial moment of shock and then it hits him what she's buying and her...condition. He probably scares a few of the other customers by the way he stands there, eyebrow twitching in anger, and glaring daggers at the young woman innocently making her purchases.

He never makes it home. Instead he follows her, recklessly still in his civilian ID, as far as he can without alerting her to his presence to where she's staying. Still blinded by anger, he doesn't wait till it's completely dark and changes to Robin gear to sneak into her living room ahead of her.

A tall shadow looms behind Sarah's couch, eyebrow still twitching, as she enters.

	He just grins, "You have no idea..." Thomas stops and glances at her, "You know...if you don't want any bacon Sarah you don't need to. I don't want you to feel like I'm pushing you or anything..." "Just checking. Didn't want to push you into anything you weren't comfortable with."

They place their orders and Thomas throws in an oreo milkshake for himself. Granted, that wasn't too exotic but he needed something familiar given how unfamiliar this all was.

"This is really the weirdest craving? Any other things I should be aware of?" He's giving her a teasing smile but is actually curious. After all, zero experience with pregnant women.

"Sometimes I get hot flashes. Last night was a little different. Cold flash," she explains. "Mostly I've just been in the mood to snack more. I usually don't need anything extra...and suddenly I despise pears."

She considers her other issues that she's been having. "Also I'm apparently more sensitive to dust. Like.... the bad kind of sensitive. I'll need to clean more for now, I guess. Pollen hasn't triggered any reactions."

"Pears?" He's really trying not to laugh at that and manages to keep a very serious face. Too serious. It's kinda obvious he's overcompensating.

"Anything I can help with? Other than buy you food I guess." So far it seems her new quirks were...manageable. At least so far. He hopes it stays that way. He really didn't know what to expect, especially given the things he's heard about hormonal pregnant women.

	He goes quiet and looks down at the table. He wished he could've helped her, or at least been there for her. Even though he knows it's not his fault he feels like he's failed at something. "I didn't ask because I didn't want to..... to push too much at you too fast. But I wanted to get started before I start getting really tired again. Sometimes I'm only good for a short while."

She bites her lip again. "I need to start ordering furniture for that room. Don't know what might need to be assembled at my place and I.... need a new doctor. I need help finding one."

	"Hence the whole assuming thing," he smiles. "I'll do the assembling don't worry about that. The doctor thing might be a tad harder but I'll look into it." He doesn't have as many connections on the darker side of the law anymore and he doesn't want Robin connected to this, it might put her in danger. Lots of discrete work then.
