She pours them each a glass. "Blasted Norns. Penciling her in to bleed out twice a year wasn't enough. They decided to pitch on her emotional self-flagellation with some kind of mystic torturefilm of what happens if we lose Solver and somebody turns him into the Asgardian Antichrist. And there's no sense telling her that's unacceptable; she's got her talking points and she won't let them go. So, I've got six months to go behind her back like a sneaky bitch in the hopes of telling these people what they can do with what I'm starting to suspect is a deliberate agenda to break their stupid Hope Goddess."

I'm trying to go back over all the parchments I read before the wedding, but there's a lot, and the first time... I was focused on sensible stuff, you know? Rules about kids and housing and public insults and everyday normal things. I didn't realize she was going to spring goddess-sacrifice on me."
