Finally!
Vernique had been dealing with business in New York. Several functions of Nevell, with her about-to-be-debuted product line. Sigurdur had come along. She still worried about his fretting about things with Svalin.... and other things with Svalin.

At the end of the day, she brought him back to the New York penthouse. "You okay with ordering delivery food?"

"That ist not quite what I meant..." Sigurdur says, even as he realizes that Vernique is right. It would be unnatural if she had to settle for another prince.

"This discussion makes mine head hurt, Vernique. Svalin ist not even interested in me. If she wast, she wouldst say so, as thou didst. She didst not, so she ist not. It ist simple." Sigurdur says.

It's not hard to see why Sigurdur is a member of the warrior class. Much like the sword he wields, he cuts through all of the thinking to reach the heart of the matter.
