Mikey had always wanted to be a superhero ever since he was a little kid when his dad would tell him stories of his adventures with the Star Spangled Kid. He wanted to be the new Star Spangled Kid someday which his dad had said maybe when he was older. However his step-sister Courtney had stolen Cosmic Converter belt that he had been eyeing but his dad would never let him touch and even let her be a superhero and not him which put even more of a strain on his relationship with his step-sister. When he confronted his dad on it his dad said he couldn’t be the new Star Spangled Kid much to his disappointment but then his dad said that he thought maybe when he was older he could take over his legacy as Stripe. While this hadn’t been what he had originally dreamed it did seem to fit his mechanical aptitude but even still his dad didn’t want his kid being a superhero while he was still a kid and Mikey was forced to respect his wishes. However Mikey felt he wasn’t a kid any more, he had just graduated college and he felt now was good time to try it and join up with the JSA. But first he thought it might be smart to talk to someone who was on the JSA that wasn’t family and might understand more where he was coming from than others. That why he was going to talk to Maxine Hunkel he knew her like one would expect to know the friends of siblings. As far as he could tell they seemed to be good friends and she seem really nice from to small bits of conversation he had had with her. Mikey was waiting for Maxine in Central Park on a park bench he had PATTON with him cloaked floating behind him.
