(Backdated) Dinner Date minus talking about feelings (she hopes at least)
He'd invited her over for dinner with the whole 'not talking' thing still valid. She could not express how much of a relief that was for her. God she hated talking or analyzing her feelings.

This time she showed up at his door with a case of beer. Hopefully the good kind, judging from the price. But then again, she couldn't actually tell, and had to rely on judging from labels and prices and going for something not American. Maybe she'd stumbled on something half decent...she hoped.

"Don't worry, it won't be long. Chance to finish our salads. You want a different beer with dinner? I've got some other things that might be worth trying too."

When they're finished with the salads, he takes the plates to the kitchen, and returns with a cranberry lambic for her, to see if she likes something with some sweeter notes than most beer. Besides, it should compliment the steaks, he figures.

Those are next, served alongside generous amounts of garlic mashed potatoes, and vegetables marinated in the same garlic marinade as the steaks before cooking.

The sweeter notes to the beer is certainly appreciated, but it's the rest of the meal that has her full attention. "This may be the best steak I've had in...maybe ever. Is cooking something I should add to your powers list?"

"Tim and his R&D buddies can't cook to save their lives despite me pointing out it's really just practical chemistry. Glad someone in the organization can cook, was starting to think it was a SHIELD-wide epidemic."

"Oh no, trust me, it's a weird quirk of his lab. He brews great beer, and the whole lab are whizzes with explosions, but the most they touch when it comes to cooking is the microwave. And I've been told there have been incidents even with just the microwave."
