"The Polar Bear Jack Prelutsky
The polar bear by being white Gives up his camouflage at night. And yet, without a thought or care, He wander here, meanders there, And gaily treads the icy floes Completely unconcened with foes. For after dark nobody dares To set out after polar bears."

PASSION DRIVEN. ; No, he didn't need to say anything. This was nice...this was right. Just being in Jayson's arms, that was enough for him. He didn't need words, all he needed was Jayson's presence, that was all. All he needed was him. He was perfectly fine just holding him. He'd never let go..

Jayson Dylan Emmerson came into the world kicking and screaming on July 1st, 1983, born to Dylan Emmerson and Sabrina O'Connor. His birth was unexpected but the two were happy. Dylan was beyond thrilled at the birth of his son, but Jake Emmerson, Dylan's twin brother, knew he had a lifetime struggle ahead of him. Jayson's uncle was a Were and part of Nathan Williams' pack.
When Dylan and Sabrina learned little JD was born into the pack, a Were from birth, their lives tumbled down around them. Dylan was a Were and Sabrina soon joined him when they mated. She loved Dylan and thought this was what she wanted. But the changes were unexpected. And then the life started growing inside of her, and it drove her more to the edge. Dylan wouldn't dream of not letting his child be born and convinced Sabrina that together everything would be alright.
If only that was true.
Sabrina pulled away after Jayson was born. Dylan tried to be a good father and not let their family deteriorate but some things were inevitable. Dylan fell into a live of anger and despair, drinking more and more heavily. Sabrina disappeared, and to this day no one knows if she's even still alive. Jake was determined that Jayson would want for nothing and took the boy to the pack to raise and take care of as his own.
JD grew up with his uncle and adopted pack brothers. He grew from a shy boy to very quickly a rambunctious and inquisitive one. He was not quite ten when Nathan brought the quiet scary boy to their family. JD vaguely remembered what it was like to be the new one, to be scared of things so he struck up a friendship with Connor. Very soon they were unstoppable, Connor the loud and charismatic one, JD the persuasive charming one who kept the peace as best he could.
When he was 18 JD convinced his father that going away to school would be alright. He went NYU, earning a degree in computer engineering. Jayson got a new nickname of "Aces" when he started working his way through school by holding weekly poker games and doing very very well for himself.
But always he still yearned for home. Connor and he had grown apart a bit as they'd gotten older. Jayson knew that Connor would be the next Alpha of the pack and he supported that. He knew that he wouldn't be the Beta but it didn't matter to him. Jayson knew his place in the pack and would be there for any of this brothers at anytime they needed him.
Things changed quickly in their world and Jayson, working in Buffalo as an EMT, got word that the pack was moving to Alaska because of pressure from the government. He knew that he couldn't manage to have his family that far away and as he always did, Jayson supported the pack and left for Alaska as well. He now lives in the same building as the rest of them, working as a bartender at The Dizzy Trout and also as an EMT for the Birchcreek fire department. |
Jayson, or JD to his close friends is loyal to a fault, especially to Connor Williams, Kevin Vandelia, & Aaron Dumas. He is a fierce supporter of the pack but can be extremely reckless at times. Through the years Jayson has shown himself to be a prime example for great compassion and gentleness and can often show light-heartedness during grim times.
Because of his second nature, JD feels unrepenting in his desire to be good and do well, but that second nature also leads to moments of being cocky, self-assured and smugly sarcastic. He fears being rejected again, as his parents rejected him when he was little.
JD also fears not living up to his family's name, losing the only family he has left, and especially of failing Connor.
Sexuality: Bi-sexual and he will hit on anything, especially closer to the full moon. |

Personality: Mol is feisty and free spirited. She is fiercely loyal as well as tenacious, sometimes to a fault. But she won't back down from a fight or a lead. She is very good at cards, specifically poker and has been known to play for days straight. Mol likes the freedom of the outdoors but if she's going to be in town, or in the city, she wants to be in the center of all the happenings. It helps her gauge people and the situation around her. Better to know what's around so you can protect yourself should something go wrong. She can be a bit cynical about relationships but deep down, is still the little girl hoping for it. Mol doesn't hate a lot. She hates the bad guy, and given her line of work, that is not a surprise. Her biggest fear are thunderstorms though she has gotten better when they come on. She dislikes how much her mother tried to make her and her siblings hate their father. Robin and Julian went back and forth but Molly never did. Mostly she just wants answers, as to why, from him. She fears that he could be dead, and will never find out. Special Skills/Weapons Used: Gambling, Tracking, horse riding. She's become extremely adept with guns and is a better than average spot on shot. She can fight hand to hand but tries to avoid it as she can be overpowered despite her strength, has a Louisiana gator knife she uses well - a present from a friend; throws a mean left hook; can speak Spanish and French; well-educated on the East and West coast. Weaknesses: Cooking. She did not pick that up from her mother OR her sister. She most likely won't make a man a good wife. And second, she is really not good on subtlety either. Playing coy and all for real, beingladylike, and not as part of luring someone in, not so much her thing either.
PART THREE Molly Shannon Emmerson was born July 1st, 1845 to Mer Emmerson and Penelope Wyatt-Emmerson. She was the oldest of their three children and despite hardship, she was a greatly happy child. She enjoyed being older sister to Robin and Julian. When she was young, they lived close to her grandparents but they didn't see too much of them as their father didn't get along with them, but they did get to see aunts and uncles and Molly was close to those around her own age.
Soon after her fourth birthday, the family packed up and moved West, to California and the gold rush. Luck was with her father and he found a small fortune which afforded them the opportunity to live well, and for Molly, Robin and Julian to go to school and enjoy life in their new home. But all was not good and when she was 9, her mother took her and her siblings, and left. Molly was not happy at all. She loved her father and didn't want to leave him or their home. Penelope uprooted the children and moved them all south, to San Francisco. Molly always kept her father in her heart. As she got older, the explanation from her mother didn't change - she left because she didn't love her father. But more and more Penelope told the three of them that Mer was a bad man, that they should be glad to be away from him. But the more her mother tried to push her away from her father, the more Molly held on to the memory of him. She didn't hate him; she wanted answers, to understand things. Mol couldn't believe he just left them and didn't love them any longer.
Mol thrived in San Francisco. She continued school and made some great friends. But whether it was just who she was or rebellion against her mother, or a bit both, but Molly and lady like were going vastly different paths. When she was 13 her friends Jean-Pierre, who was from Louisiana, and Gretchen who was from San Francisco, snuck into one of gambling houses and from then on Molly was hooked. She learned to play faro and blackjack and poker. And she got to be good. So good in fact, the three started scheming on ways to make some good money. And who would be afraid of the cute little blonde girl right?
The world went crazy again with the Civil War. Living in California, they were safe from the ravages of war as it affected the east but they were affected nonetheless. Molly and Gretchen worked in the hospital, helping to take care of patients however they could. Gretchen was betrothed since she wasquite young but Molly didn't have any desire to marry, at least not in the immediate future. Penelope on the other hand, was a young woman still and Molly was non too happy that she was seeing gentleman callers, and she wasn't too nice to them. Rude would be the nicest word. She let Robin and Julian make up their own minds and didn't want to do to them what Penelope did with her.
She was not quite 18 when a new path of her life literally fell into her lap. Playing a friendly poker tournament, Molly was doing quite well. But as was happening with increasing regularity, some of the other participants got a bit TOO friendly, or tried to at least. It was just a shame he couldn't handle his liquor and passed out. Jean-Pierre helped her get him to the local jail so he could sleep it off; it was the least they could do. But when they got him there, they learned that he was wanted for stealing from the rail company. And just like that Molly had 200 dollars. She had her first bounty. Naively she thought it couldn't be that hard and what an easy way to make some good money besides getting criminals where they needed to be.
But she found it wasn't so easy. Luckily she was a quite learner. She made some friends with a few lawmen and proved herself to be not only extremely capable in the area of horsemanship but she was also an excellent shot. Jean-Pierre taught her to fight with a knife in hand to hand. All in all, it was more and more to drive Penelope crazy and the rift between mother and daughter grew more. Molly loved her mother, she just didn't particularly like her most of the time. Her career took her to Texas and Colorado, and all places in between. When she couldn't make money with the bounties, Molly was playing cards and enjoying life on the frontier.
Home to her would be San Fransisco. It was where here family was but she was old enough that she needed to make her way on her own. And she'd found what she wanted to do. That could change, it might not. She was an adventurous free spirit.
As fortune would have it, she was headed home, back to California when Molly found herself in pursuit of a particularly troublesome bandit who led her straight nearby to New Shelby. It was still a ways off to San Francisco and she figured a stop in the town couldn't hurt. Friends had stopped there in the years since it had re-established itself and often said how great of a town it was becoming again. Mol had to admit she was intrigued to see for herself.
