NAME: Jessica AGE: over 21 E-MAIL: aramiv@gmail.com AIM SN: AramiVahagn EXPERIENCE: almost 10 years
ic information NAME: Daniel [Christopher] Molloy ( his middle name isn't mentioned as far as I can find or recall so I made it up ) AGE: 32 DATE OF BIRTH: April 1st, 1955 DATE OF DEATH: 1987 [if I've figured that out correctly] in San Francisco, CA MAKER: Armand
PERSONALITY: Daniel was, and still is to a degree, inquisitive and passionate. He is very much a California child, loving the water, sand and surf. Writing is his life and he wanted to be successful and change the world. He grew up in the 60s and 70s and is very much a free spirit of those times. He followed his own heart and let his writing guide him. He didn't have a traumatic childhood or live through a horrible event, nothing that would make him so vulnerable to the sway of Louis' life.
Daniel Molloy was a quiet, shy kid who just kept to himself, didn't make a scene and didn't make waves. School came easy to him and worked hard and stayed out of trouble. Daniel had few close friends he trusted and often hung out with them. Very early on he loved to write, and kept numerous journals as a child and as he grew up until the writing bug hit him for fiction and journalism. At first he wasn't sure if he wanted to be a novelist or a journalist so he tried a bit of both, trying to find his way. Being a bit invisible allowed him to blend in with others, take notice of them and their environment, and write about them accurately. He likes his friends, loves his job, but only lived a shadow of the life he could. And as much as he loved writing, it wasn't enough to fill Daniel's life. His family life wasn't terrible, but it wasn't ideal either. It just was. His father had always worked too much and his moth couldn't get past the on-going trauma of war and society in the 60s & 70s. Neither approved of Daniel's desire to be a writer and thoroughly thought their son was falling into the counter-culture revolution. He began finding himself in the bottom of a bottle more and more often and though he would never admit it, he was an alcoholic and it was killing him. If Armand hadn't changed him when he did, deep down Daniel knows that he wouldn't have survived much longer.
He had to learn a lot about himself, and Marius helped him. When The Vampire Armand came out, Daniel hadn't seen Armand in a while, and he had lost his mind with only Marius to care of him. He was silent and withdrawn, battling the insanity and voices in his head. It wasn't until much later, several years in fact, that he was sound and ready to read the book, hoping to gain insight into the vampire he'd loved for so much of his mortal life. He was well into rediscovering himself and healing, or Armand's words would have been more damaging than they were. Yes it hurt to hear how Armand thought of him, that it was only in loneliness that he'd been changed. But Marius helped him and Daniel wanted to heal, and to live. Daniel wasn't the same person anymore and while did hurt especially coming from Armand, Daniel was becoming his own man, learning to live life again, even if it was an undead life.
Daniel's writing is a big part of who he is and he is happy, and sane, once again. He currently lives alone and has the possessions that make him the happiest - his computer and books, his movies and CDs. He likes research as well and it isn't surprising sometimes to find him consumed in books or the computer looking for answers, as well as perfecting the question he seeks, a lot of that stemming from his years being with Marius. Daniel lives near parks and has his pick of the deviants that are near there at night. He has no qualms about killing but has issue with feeding on the innocents. With a new lease on his immortal life, he is a bit more reckless and cheerful, and is constantly enthralled and amused by what he has become. Daniel is still wonderfully innocent. He's not as shy or reserved as he was as a mortal. Daniel no longer craves the solitary life despite living alone. He knows that living alone doesn't mean he is lonely, and he's not. He feels no fear, or paranoia, and has no guilt about the need to kill.
He has become a talented painter and photographer, both of which he continues to do as they helped him during his insanity. He is loyal to his friends and those he keeps as family. Daniel has shown he can be relentless in his pursuits but he has also learned it doesn't have to be a bad thing and tries to remember that, though the lesson was hard and is still a learning process. Daniel realises more now than ever just how young he is, and how much he has to learn. He has love for and interest in the mortals and mortal world which might be considered a weakness by some but Daniel never sees it like that. He likes studying the mortals, to see how they behave and interact in hopes of someways explaining how and why he was the way he was. He made a lot of mistakes and though he isn't holding onto his humanity as much as Louis did or is, there are some things he doesn't want to lose or forget. After a miserable mortality he is now learning and experiencing all that immortality has to offer him and enjoying it to the best of his ability. HISTORY: Daniel got the chance and interview Louis, and once the story was told, he wanted to join him, to become what he was. But Louis wouldn't turn him so Daniel researched everything he could and looked for Lestat, hoping he would do for Daniel the same thing he did for Louis. But it was Armand he found and Daniel's life would never be the same. Three years of chasing and be chased before Daniel could resist no more and he and Armand's relationship truly began. Of course he wanted Armand to give him the Dark Gift but the older vampire refused. For twelve more years they spent their lives together, loving and living, fighting and making up. Daniel enjoyed his link to the modern world, and for being Armand's link to it as well, even if they fought about it at times.
Armand finally relented and turned Daniel after those twelve years and at first Daniel was excited. He was getting what he wanted and could now he could be with Armand forever. Right? If only the fairy tale endings were real. Daniel had been dying when Armand gave him the Dark Gift and though it did save his life, the change also brought the madness in Daniel more to the forefront.
An independent and adventurous streak grew in Daniel and though it pained him, he and Armand grew apart. Daniel heard voices, saw the future of things and was losing his mind. After leaving Armand, he slowly went insane, literally, because of the voices in his head. His Dark Gifts were growing out of control and he couldn't handle it. Through Armand, he got very strong, old blood. Though other "gifts" became apparent to him as he was change - immortality, rapid healing - it was the Mind Gifts that grew strong in him. Telekinesis ( that will grow even more with age ), and telepathy were strong because of Armand's blood. Daniel also had the added aspect of precognition that he didn't recognise in the beginning which were the voice he couldn't silence in his head driving him crazy, literally. Marius found him and took him to his island in the Aegean. Daniel had all but lost his mind but Marius seemed to think things would be alright with him eventually. Daniel lived with the ancient one and painted in his studio, saying little and smiling suspiciously, as if deep in thought. He stayed for a number of years until his mind righted itself. Painting had become the therapy that's helped him rejoin reality, filling his days with creativity and calmness despite the unpredictable life of an immortal.
For all the insanity of his mortal existence, first drinking himself to death and then being with Armand, not being with him and not having the coping skills to be alone, plus trying to deal with the immortality and life of a vampire, was far worse. But in the meantime, life was all about little train gardens, putting together cardboard houses and painting little Styrofoam trees. Daniel didn't see many people during this time, but thought often about the people and friends he missed. Daniel learned to understand more about the voices in his head, and the visions he saw, as well as the telekinesis and telepathy abilities as well. He finally regained his sanity and could see the immortal life before him in a new light. Daniel will always hold Marius in great reverence and esteem for what he did for him. Along with Armand, he is the most important person to truly affect Daniel's life. Recently even the writing bug has even come back after being dormant for so long. He doesn't just want to exist in an immortal life but to live and enjoy himself, to do and see those things he never did during his dark and troubled mortal life. LIKES: painting / Ghost Hunters / hockey / traveling / sanity / "Night Island" / model trains and trees / laptop DISLIKES: the unknown / being away from Armand / American Idol / his mood swings / being scared / being a nuisance
SIGNIFICANT RELATIONSHIPS: Armand - his maker, his one-time companion; Daniel misses him and hopes to repair their relationship now that he is back on the healthy track Marius - has a love for him that can't be taken away for Marius was the one who took him and let him find his sanity again; a mentor of sorts, and dear, dear friend Lestat - intrigued by him since he first talked to Louis; thought pompous and childish at first, has grown to like him even if he can drive people crazy (so to speak) at times Louis - a bit jealous of him though even Daniel isn't sure why; is very much grateful to him not only for sharing his story, giving Daniel the success as a novelist but also for introducing him to the world he now lives David - wish he had half the man's knowledge of the world and of history; leery at first of being around him but often enjoys conversing with him
APPEARANCE: Daniel is 6 ft tall with dark hair and violet-blue eyes. He is thin and wiry but does have an athletic, lean muscular build. He has his ear pierced which he has kept in his immortal life. Daniel wore glasses mostly for reading and though his eyesight doesn't require them, some times as a comfort, he will wear them even now. His choice of clothing has changed during the years but comfort has always been the prevailing detail. He often prefers jeans and tshirts along with his Doc Maarten boots, but he has attained an affinity for Hugo Boss if the situation requires a little bit more stylish.

JOURNAL: </a></b></a> immortalwriter
writing samples FIRST PERSON SAMPLE:I've always thought it strange that I keep a journal with as much writing as I do already. But it was something I started when Marius found me. Early on some of them were jibberish, even now I look back at them and I can't believe that was me, that I was so lost in my head. But I keep them to remind me how far I'd gone and how far I've come. Some of them are splattered in paint and speak of colours and landscapes and others are filled with random drawings and doodles as much as they are with words. I realise now that there is entirely of my life for these past years wrapped up in these little leather bound books. I've just started number 12 and I look forward to not only filling it but also to look back in time to see once again how I've changed.
THIRD PERSON SAMPLE: I play Nike in the following links. She is one of my longest running characters; that is why I chose her to use. She has a wide range of personality and emotional conflict within this game - http://asylums.insanejournal.com/ddc_archive/56275.html // http://asylums.insanejournal.com/deities_dot_com/11830.html // http://asylums.insanejournal.com/deities_dot_com/41202.html // http://asylums.insanejournal.com/deities_dot_com/50268.html // http://asylums.insanejournal.com/deities_dot_com/76278.html // http://asylums.insanejournal.com/deities_dot_com/108911.html // http://asylums.insanejournal.com/deities_dot_com/119563.html
