They'd been teammates for years, moving eventually from Young Justice to, eventually, the JLA reserves. Always together. He supposes, in hindsight, he could have saved carefully, put off the proposal, got her a ring, but it would never be worthy of a princess... and, really, saving carefully and waiting wasn't his style.
So, when he wins a prize at the state fair throwing darts - he has a little bit of an advantage with the whole accuracy thing - he skips the big teddy bear, and gets the smaller one... and one of the silly little glittery plastic ones on display as his prize - turns from the counter, and offers over both teddy bear and .25 cent ring down on one knee.
"Will you marry me?"
