Gwen walked into her SoHo penthouse and put down her briefcase. It was late, and she had yet to do her rounds. She took off her Manolos and sighed, knowing that she still had to report in.
She picked up her phone and dialed her current employer's number.
"I got them out on bail and it's definitely going to cost you. Your longshoremen being caught cold at the scene is a problem, but that's better than say, that Punisher-whacko, catching them." Gwen says.
"I'm certain I can get the charges dropped based on circumstantial evidence and entrapment. One of your man says someone's been following him around all week. Thinks it was the cops." she says.
"How do you want to handle this?" she asks.

Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: De
Email: On File
AIM (if you have one): On File
Character Name: Gwendolyn "Gwen" Lydia Fireheart, aka Black Cat
Character LJ (if applicable): apex_predator
Physical description (face, build, weight): Gwen is five-foot-seven, one-hundred thirty-five pounds. She is athletic and toned, and has dark hair in her normal form. When partially transformed, her hair becomes blonde. When in her were-puma form, she is quadrupedal and has tawny brown fur.
Age: 26
Birthday: November 2nd
PB: (If using one.) Amber Heard/Comic Scans
Abilities: Due to genetic engineering on her father and mystic manipulation (upon both of her parents, Gwen is in peak human physical condition, which she strives to maintain. She can run at speeds up to 45 miles per hour and can exert herself physical for up to an hour before fatigue sets in, as her body does not build fatigue toxins as fast as a normal human. She is also twice as strong as a normal human.
Gwen reflexes are three times that of a normal human, allowing her to keep up with someone like Spider-Girl. Her five senses are heightened to peak human sharpness and she has excellent night vision and excellent agility. She is an accomplished gymnast.
Gwen has retractable claws in both her hands and feet, aiding her in climbing and combat . She is able transform into an actual puma.
Her mother trained her in stealth, safe-cracking, lock-picking and burglary as well as Judo and Thai kickboxing. She is also well-versed in Kisani Lore (that of her father's tribe). Gwen has a degree from ESU in Criminal Justice. She attended Columbia Law School and passed the bar exam.
Weaknesses and flaws:
Her relationship with her father is strained because she is not "Native American enough" to be a full member of the tribe and he hasn't offered her a position with his company. He also demanded that she pay back every cent of the money he loaned her to attend law school, in order to teach her responsibility. The side effect of such is that this managed mostly to piss her off.
She will do anything for her mother and is currently working on a way to free her from prison legally.
Character location/Home: New York
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Independent
Relatives (living/dead?): Walter Hardy (grandfather, deceased), Lydia Hardy (grandmother, deceased), Felicia Hardy (mother, living), Thomas Fireheart (Father, living)
Backstory: The Puma and Black Cat worked together for years as allies and friends of Spider-Man before they took an interest in each other. What started out as a purely physical relationship eventually became a romance and the pair produced a child that seemed normal, for all intents and purposes.
Gwen's heightened senses developed at ten years old, making it easier for her to hear the things other kids said about her (that she was weird, as a little girl, and many of the less flattering things, as she got older). Incidentally, it aided her in gymnastics, as she grew better with her balance and precision. When she finally explained to her parents what was happening, Thomas took her to the reservation in Arizona. The members of his tribe treated Felicia and Melinda poorly and Fireheart lost standing among the tribe for siring a half-breed child with a white woman.
At thirteen, they allowed her to partake in the Kitani Rite of Passage, which indicated to her that her path was both the same and different from that of her parents. Felicia stole a tribal relic before they left in repayment for the tribe's "kindness". She and Thomas ended because of this not long after, with Felicia accusing Thomas of being ashamed of his own child.
Gwen spent most of her time with Felicia in Europe and Italy, but wanted little as both her paents provided for her in their own ways. Her mother encouraged her never to settle for second best, as Felicia's father did for her. She put her nose to the grindstone and managed to complete her law degree in four years, just so she wouldn't owe her father any extra money. Thomas imparted to her that she need to live by a code of honor and never deviate from it.
Gwen has been working as a lawyer, getting the Queen of Crime's men released on a technicality and has been on retainer since then.
At night, though, she does her real work: marking the Queen of Crime's territory and making sure that the low-life thugs out there understand where they can and can't do business.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Any NPC criminal can be arrested and Gwen can show up to get said criminal released. The cops know and dislike her greatly. Alternately, a criminal could need someone to defend them on short notice and Gwen can step in.
What are you planning to do with this character?: Have her keep criminals out of jail by day and beat good guys to a pulp by night. A reverse Daredevil, if you will.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: I'd like to see her run for New York District Attorney if Carrie runs for Mayor. Her having issues/friendship/friendly rivalry with any other lawyer type on canvas would be cool as well.
Test scene coming soon.
