Anya plopped down into a chair across from Toni at the small cafe in the Village. It had been awhile since she had seen her best friend and it was time they caught up. Anya had some news.
Toni shrugged. "I've learned to add somewhere between ten minutes and an hour to whatever time a Stark says they're gonna be somewhere. And that's the conservative range."
Well that was certainly not the reaction she was expecting. Anya had been expecting a reaction with a lot more yelling and mention of not being responsible.
"He bet that you'd be pregnant before 25. I bet that you were way to career/make the world a better tomorrow to stop and have kids."
And Toni would probably have ranted at her, maybe a year ago. But they'd both passed that point into being adults, with their own lives. Not quite as much her place to judge. Even if being judgey was a Rhodes thing.
"Admit it. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities," she said. She smiled. "I will take that as a compliment, but as for another Stark in the world, well this one will be tempered by the Rogers side."
