Making for others

"I'd have to say this is one of the best ideas that I've had," Anya said she watched the ribbons of green light dance around the night sky. She had been working night and day and Sarah had been really busy with the Avengers, leaving the two of the with little free time.

A little intervention was needed. So she grabbed the supplies they needed for this impromptu trip. A few thermoses of hot chocolate, chairs and arctic gear and grabbed Sarah. They headed to the North Slope of Alaska to watch the Aurora Borealis.

Anya finally got her chance to go into space and to Knowhere to boot. The station was a marvel and she was intent on exploring all of it and all the systems. She found herself tracing conduits to an access panel in what appeared to be a closet.

Anya opened her eyes and blinked a few times. A yawn escaped her and she pulled herself up into a sitting position. Okay. She was in a jail cell and her head felt like someone was taking a sledge hammer to it. There had been too much alcohol last night. That was the only thing she was sure of at the moment.

She looked around and saw Kelly next to her. She nudged her with an elbow.

Anya was home from work at a reasonable hour, meaning before 9pm, and sat the Thai takeout she brought home with her on the table. Sarah was nowhere to be seen. Anya knew exactly where to look for her wife. Anya headed straight for the gym.

Anya plopped down into a chair across from Toni at the small cafe in the Village. It had been awhile since she had seen her best friend and it was time they caught up. Anya had some news.

"Sorry I'm late," she said.

"It's dead," Anya said as she stood up. Leave it to the engine of the boat to stop working in the middle of nowhere. The only good thing was that they had managed to make it to a small island before the engine completely died. The boat was beached and so were they.
