Search for Steve
1. Trigon/Steve leaves the Teen Titans after Black Night. He's unable to do anything to them, as per the contract Steve managed to get him to hold.
2. Titans know they have to deal with Trigon possessed Steve before he wreaks havoc on the world and makes it his own.
3. Titans track down Trigon/Steve to the Church of Blood hideout.
4. Titans fight the Church of Blood and learn about the contract Steve made with Trigon saying that Trigon could not do or cause harm to the Teen Titans in any way, shape or form, including sending somebody else to harm them. If he did, the contract would break the possession and free Steve without killing him. (This still held up during the fight with Ty, since Trigon was not in conflict with Ty himself.)
5. Titans attack Trigon (while still fighting the Church of Blood) and force him to fight back, breaking the contract and freeing Steve.
6. Steve returns with the Titans, but warns that Trigon is not gone for good.
