My Characters: Part Three
Part three of this special character bullet train. Insula De Virsta!

This game has had several incarnations and regardless of how many times we've played it I always end up with a disgusting amount of characters. I'll be listing characters from only the current incarnation and to keep it a little easier on me I'm going to break them up by tribe.

Insula De Virsta A magical island, a well kept secret, floating and hidden from prying human eyes. There are creatures from the mundane to the mystical and all are capable of wondrous things. They've been keeping their perfect habitat secret for centuries, until a group of castaways crashed onto their shore. Another one of my babies, we've played this game several times (with the death of GJ forcing us to end the game there and restarting this last game on Inksome before moving to Scribbld).

Diadem A tribe of fallen gods, living secretly on the island. Their powers are varied and unique to each god; their secret is that their exile on Insula De Virsta is a punishment for past wrong.

	Oporo No one knows that Oporo, Rapithwin, and Saturna are three incarnations of the same person. Oporo appears to be the most innocent and sweet of the three. She makes silly mistakes and is easily manipulated. Rapithwin keeps her on a short leash. However, she is secretly the most devious.
	Rapithwin Rapithwin is the middle ground of Oporo and Saturna. She took the balancing middle edge, being the most level headed, even tempered and logical. She liked to be in control of her other selves.
	Saturna Saturna is the most troublesome. She is devious and clever and would like nothing more than to rid herself of Oporo and Rapithwin (though she fears the consequences of eliminating them). Rapithwin once banished her from the island, but through subterfuge and careful planning she managed to get back home.

Enkeli Everto Enkeli are angels/demons. They have wings capable of flight. They can control people with their voices, and can spy in on thoughts.

	Abel Weird and outcast from his tribe. He lives in a separate cabin with his girlfriend Lily. He crafts things, like custom chairs and tables and gifts them to other tribes in exchange for food or magic.
	Asher Wilmont He didn't have an easy childhood. His mother (Dinah of the Enkeli Everto) abandoned him to his father shortly after his birth (since she was from the island and could not stay on the mainland with him). Asher grew up without ever knowing who his mother was or that he had magical abilities. He decided to become a lawyer, finding that he had immense skill at putting together persuasive arguments and convincing others to his point of view. He never lost a case. After the crash he bonded with Dahlia and began to acclimate to island life.
	Dahlia Benette Has been reincarnated more times than she cares to admit. She remembers every single life and often seems crazy or queer, just by virtue of the things she knows (and shouldn't know). She is completely aware about Insula De Virsta and has longed to return home for many lifetimes. Levi is her father; the long dead Kantele Roma was her mother. After the crash she bonded with Asher and taught him all she knew of their shared heritage.
	Dinah Dinah was not born mute; she was punished for an indiscretion and the removal of her voice has dampened her ability to control people.
	Helen Helen is Levi's daughter with Serene. Helen was born with wings and couldn't be kept among the witches. She doesn't know who her mother is, that she has an older sister (Heidi) or why she can cast magic in addition to her Enkeli abilities.
	Jael Jael has a fiesty, restless temperament and is often meddling (for better or worse). Has a tendency to take Levi's side, even if she doesn't really agree with him.
	Levi Has children all over the island, in particular 7 daughters. Helen is his only child with wings, thus the only child he bothered to raise. He keeps detailed family trees of every tribe. He likes to cause havoc with particular tribes for undisclosed reasons.

Guarnizioni Guarnizioni are selkies, part human, part seal. They often live on the beach, near water. If their pelt is stolen they must remain in human form. They often crave time in the water.

	Ianthe Lived on the mainland for years. Paolo's ex-wife. Former model and spoiled brat.
	Paolo Lived on the mainland for years. Ianthe's ex-husband. Former pianist, might be gay.

Humans Normal people hailing from the mainland, or anywhere not on the island. Technically not a tribe.

	Colter Morris Colter Morris is the first mate and lover of cruise ship captain Sven Ford. He is more cautious than one might first expect. He is loyal and terribly devoted to his love. He writes in his journal everyday.
	Dane Landon Deryk Landon's older brother. He's working on the boat to pay for an indiscretion in Atlantic City that he doesn't like to talk about. He has gambling debts that would make Bill Gates blush. He believes in shortcuts in all things (which is perhaps why most of his paychecks have been lost in Atlantic City). He's also a terrible cad with the ladies; he has a strict policy of love 'em then leave 'em. As soon as possible.
	Ingrid Parrish A dancer from New York. She has a twin sister, Rachel who she goaded into traveling on this trip through sheer boredom. She is nothing if not narcissistic.
	Rachel Parrish A dancer from New York. She has a twin sister, Ingrid who goaded her into traveling on this trip, which they had been forbidden to take by their father. She doesn't have a very good moral compass. She was pregnant (believing her brother in law to be the father); her pregnancy proved difficult and she died shortly after giving birth on the island.
	Sven Ford Sven has been a ship captain for most of his life, only taking up posts on cruise ships in recent years to satisfy Colter's worries about violence on the high seas. Before then he'd been something of a pirate on the high seas, careful to sail in international waters with his vicious friends. He believes that he never resorted to murder and didn't associate with those who did (this resulting from a few bad experiences in his youth), but this might be a lie. Sven has always felt at home on the ocean.

Iustufikii Iustufikii are faeries, born from flowers on the day the island was formed. Frivolous, silly creatures who do not typically concern themselves with more important matters on the island.

Vashti Part of the Royal Council. She has a very high opinion of herself and a very low opinion of most everyone else. Aspires to dethrone the king, knowing that it's never been done before. She's never gotten played, so I may simply discard her.

Jimo Jimo is a human tribe that has lived on the island time out of mind. They live in a village protected by Nataliya's magic in exchange for blood, but that protection has ended and no one knows why.

Ganesh Ganesh is a little left of center. Usually mumbling to himself about the weather, he likes to wander around the island and barely gets himself out of trouble with other tribes. Not to be trusted with any amount of responsibility. It's rumored that Ganesh once ate one his younger siblings, but it's possible he started this rumor himself.

Kantele One of the Kantele's abilities is to reincarnate after death, though they do not always retain their memories. Their lesser known ability is to balance the magical energies that exist on the island and prevent them from tearing the island apart.

	Broderick Broderick's special gift is the ability to turn various objects different colors just by touching them. Since discovering this ability her hair has been through a plethora of impossible colors. She likes to spy on the faerie village, as if it's her own private soap opera to watch.
	Corwin Graves Freelance photographer and recent divorcee. Corwin has never quite fit in anywhere. He is a lone wolf of sorts. He met Isabelle in Canada, pursuing photography. He was contacted for a job involving photographs on the Hnakra. He thought he'd invite Isabelle along for kicks and was surprised when she actually agreed to come along. After the crash he decided to follow Isabelle into the Kantele tribe despite knowing he'd forget about her.
	Isabelle Hughes A photographer from Canada. Her past has been nothing if rocky. Isabelle traveled on the Hnakra with Corwin Graves to take photographs of some of the high-profile guests. After the crash she decided to become a part of the Kantele tribe because she'd be able to lose her memories of the mainland (and maybe shake this bad habit with Corwin).

Kouzelheks Kouzelheks are a tribe of witches, mostly female (males tend to have less magic). They are either dark or red haired, which signifies whether they have grown to maturity magically. They are divided into Heksenketel (dark, chaotic witches) and Kouzelnice (light, balanced witches)

	Claudette Aligns with Kouzelnice. When her twin Aina opted to be a vampire, Claudette remained a witch. She has yet to darken.
	Danae Aligns with Kouzelnice. Danae is the Head Witch and Tribal Leader. She has an ability which allows her to set people into their right tribes without all of the guesswork. This ability has been passed down her line for centuries. She is the mother of Serene and grandmother to Helen, Gisele, and Heidi. She knows about her third granddaughter, though she is not supposed to.
	Fidelis Fidelis is one of the few men to darken and also be pledged as Heksenketel. He has an air of maturity, as if he knows things far beyond his youth. He can be arrogant at times, assuming his vision will allow him to see all things before they transpire. He is terribly attracted to Heidi.
	Heidi Heidi is the daughter of Levi and Serene. She is not aware of her father's identity or that she has a younger sister Helen, nor her powers as part Enkeli. She has a cantankerous relationship with her half-sister Gisele. She's a powerful Heksenketel witch who darkened at a very young age. Her magic was unstable so she was moved to Isis' house to live and practice magic. She had a number of scraps growing up and is often at the center of trouble, simply because of the nature of her magic.
	Holly A funny Kouzelnice witch who glamours her hair red because she likes it better than having black hair. She is Isis' cousin. She is having serious flirtations with Ligeia of the Vatnadis and is rather conflicted by it.
	Isis A promising Heksenketel witch who tutored Heidi and helped her through the early years of chaotic, dark magic. She may be named as Head Witch. Isis is in love with Daevas of the Vatnadis and mother to Lilaea of the same tribe. This peculiar little family shares a cabin at the edge of the lake.
	Marina Aligns with Kouzelnice. Is a quiet witch who has a serious crush on Claudette. She has yet to darken.
	Serene Aligns with Kouzelnice. Mother of Heidi, Gisele, and Helen. Former lover of Levi. She is dying, but refuses to tell her mother (Danae) or children. She did not hide her first pregnancy and birthed Heidi, a peculiar girl with vast power. She realized how dangerous it could be and did not handle the ridicule of being a single mother well (as she was never willing to tell who the father of Heidi was). Gisele's father is a witch. Helen's father was Levi and Serene hid the pregnancy from everyone. She sent Helen to live with her father and made him swear to never tell her about her mother and sisters. Levi reluctantly took the girl and has kept the secret since.

Lagrimas Irmoes The Lagrimas are merfolk, which live in the central lake of the island. They have been granted the ability to leave the water (by switching fins to legs), but only during the daytime. At night they must return to water.

	Annaliese Selfish, dark, and willing to do almost anything to get her way. She was not born a mermaid nor on the island. She was washed overboard her parent's luxury liner along with her brother. She was cursed by the witches for some awful thing she and her brother did and changed from witches to merfolk.
	Cat Cat has sketchy heritage, which is why she bonded so well with Dimas (both feel like outcasts from their tribe, though they do not often complain of it), besides the fact that they were raised together. Her father was the selkie; she knew him but he died when she was still young and he never officially claimed her (believing it was for her own well being). Her mother raised her and Dimas as if they were a normal merfolk family. Cat is loyal and calm, very smart and strong.
	Dimas Dimas' heritage is a little sketchy. He is part selkie, though he inherited only merfolk traits. His mother was a selkie who had a tryst with Johannes. She died in his early youth (since merfolk are immortal and selkies are shortlived). He was passed to Cat's family to be raised since they understood the importance of discretion about their lineage. He is Cat's best friend; they stick together through thick and thin. They learned to defend themselves at a young age and are often sparing partners. He's strong and quick to judge. Very set in his ways.
	Johannes Annaliese's brother. He fell in love with sisters Heidi and Helen (first Heidi, then Helen). He's the calmer, more collected sibling. He was not born a merboy; he was cursed by the witches with his sister for some awful thing they did. He is often scheming for a way to get out of the water as well. He once hooked up with a selkie; he doesn't know she had a child (who just so happens to be Dimas).

Nghrau Nghrau are vampires. They live mostly by night (as they age dramatically in the sun) and must drink blood to survive. They are known as predators.

	Aina Aina was born a witch. She has a twin sister Claudette. She was turned by West, his first sireling. She is torn between her loyalty to West and her fascination with Lucas. She is going to sire Branwen and start her "after" life again.
	West West was born to a woman who was pregnant when she was turned to a vampire. He can walk in the sun without aging because of the nature of his birth. He killed and drank his mother. The witches put bindings on him to control his growth. He sired Aina, though his relationship with her has been troubled. He plans to sire another vampire (and I think it's going to end up being Fidelis).

Nos Hellyllon Nos Hellyllon are the dark elves, separated from the lighter elves tribe by an old and deadly feud.

Sveta Sveta has taken relish in fighting during the many elf skirmishes; ever the warrior she practices when there isn't fighting and is right at the front lines when trouble starts. She has no desire to end the violence. She is having a secret relationship with Levi of the Enkeli Everto.

Ghosts/Other This is a category for anything else that falls between the cracks (like characters who don't belong to a tribe, or don't quite fit with the tribe the live in).

	Alexis Wyatt The assistant to the small group of vampires on the ship. She kept them protected and safe during the day with the promise of being turned into a vampire one day. She died during the boat crash and is unpleasantly surprised to find herself a ghost wandering the island. She's formed a friendship with fellow ghost Casimir.
	Casimir Aina's deceased love. He's a ghost now, though Aina isn't aware of it or the havoc he's been wrecking on her love life. He's become friends with Lex and has been helping her grapple with being a ghost.
	Roma One of Levi's lovers. She was the original mother of Dahlia. She is long since dead (and probably reincarnated without her memories). Pandora poses as her to fuck with Levi.

Todesfee Todesfee are banshees which wail when death or serious danger is coming. They are a tribe of only women (and are born in Corcyra's swamp).

Fiona As far as she knows, she's the only one of her kind. She has a close relationship with Corcyra who has been like a mother figure to her.

Ungur Áll The Ungur All are light elves, seperated from the dark elves because of an old and deadly feud. They are wonderful at the healing arts and have a connection with nature and the natural world.

Lily Lily is estranged from the Ungur All, having fled to safety during the war. She lives in a cabin in the Southern Valley with her boyfriend Abel of the Enkeli Everto. She misses her tribe sometimes, but she likes her simple life in the valley.

Vampires This is an entirely separate tribe of vampires from the mainland. Their line was sired by Lysranda.

	Silas Ioannidis Silas was originally from Greece. He's an old vampire, a part of the coven that was traveling on the ship. He was made by the same vampire who made Victor. He sired Camilla and possibly one other. He had a close relationship with Alexis and intended to turn her.
	Viola Winter A vampire sired by Silas. Viola left Silas to seek her own fortune and hasn't seen him in many years. She knows that leaving Silas deeply wounded him, but she has always wanted to return to him and share her adventures again.

Vatnadís The Vatnadis are water spirits, or naiads. They are usually women, connected to a body of water that they must remain close to. They have power of water, much more over their specific body of water.

	Corcya Eleionomae, or marsh naiad. She governs the unnamed swamp located in the Black Woods. She is usually smudged with dirt in human form. She is usually easy going, if not entertaining.
	Daevas The Limnatide, the central lake spirit and the tribal leader. He's the only male naiad He cares greatly for his Potameides, though they had a very rocky start. Over the years he has fallen in love with Isis of the Kouzelheks. This resulted in two things, the birth of Lilaea and then the decision to move in together as a family. The three share a cabin together.
	Indra The oldest and wisest of the Potameides (river naiads). She has a close relationship with the Kouzelheks.
	Ligeia A tenacious, if not deceitful potameide. She is the southern river. She is not the original spirit; she took it many years ago from Callisto who was too tired to carry on. She is not picky about who travels in her waters. She is very much in love with Holly of the Kouzelheks, though they have yet to openly declare their feelings and are still only flirting.
	Lilaea Lilaea is a Crinaeae who embodies the spirit of the Southern Valley puddle (which occurs when there is a rainy season). When her puddle dries up she moves into the small offshoot of Tistrya's river. Lilaea was born as a result of Isis and Daevas' affections and is very much their daughter. The three of them share a cabin at the edge of the lake, very near the mouth of Tis' river.
	Tistrya Tistrya is the eastern Potameide. She is not the original; she took her river from Amaltheia who was too tired to carry on. Tis is bubbly and carefree despite a tragic past. She once fell in love with a selkie who died. She was going to have his child and so an offshoot grew from her river, but she lost the baby. The offshoot however did not dry up; she allows Lilaea the use of it so that the little girl does not die. She dotes on her like an aunt.
