Character Name: Diana Keesler
Age and physical description: Diana is twenty-five (born April 12, 1985). She's of about average height (5'5" or so) and rather slender and boyish in appearance. This illusion is further enhanced by the fact that she tends to keep her pale blonde hair cut very short.
Former Deity Name and Pantheon: Loki, Norse Pantheon
Personality: Diana is a fun and funny girl, the sort of person you want to show up at a party, especially if it needs some life breathed back into it. She's very energetic, seemingly almost always on the go and ready for just about anything. She's also utterly straightforward and doesn't pull her punches. It's not that she's not tactful, it's just that she sees no point in self-deception and extends that to the deception of others. She has no dark past, no hidden, painful secrets. For the most part, what you see is what you get: a happy, slightly loud, witty boyish-looking girl.
History: Diana was born in Annapolis, MD, and has lived in the DC/Maryland area all of her life. An only child, she learned at an early age that if she wanted to have friends, she had to be outgoing to get them and spent a lot of her time (once she was old enough) running around the streets of Annapolis with her friends and getting into (minor) trouble. It probably helped that her parents had a rather laidback style of parenting that basically amounted to: if you need us, we're here, but we're not going to keep you locked up in your room all the time. She's still on good terms with them and every now and again, when she feels the need to get out of the city for a little while, she'll catch a ride out to Annapolis (she doesn't own a car) and visit them.

Diana was a fairly good student in high school and could have had her pick, more or less, of just about any college that she applied to. Instead, she chose to move in with a friend to a tiny one-bedroom apartment in the District (she sleeps on a fold out couch). To pay the insane rent, Diana holds down two jobs: working as a tour guide on the weekdays and part time as a barista in a local coffee shop most evenings and weekends. She's just barely making ends meet but she says she loves it. It probably helps she's not too interested in the accumulation of material wealth. Or having health insurance.

After her roommate moved out and Diana couldn't find a replacement, she accepted an offer of another friend (Jack Donovan) to move in with him. She says he's become her "sugar daddy" even though she continues working at two jobs.

Though Diana's fairly satisfied with her life of late, intermittently she's been finding her sleep rather uneasy and disturbed by things she can really only term as nightmares though she doesn't really remember the details in the daytime.

Strengths: Diana can make friends with just about anyone, given enough time. She's just got that sort of personality that people are drawn to. She's also got a personality that allows her to juggle multiple tasks at once and not drop the ball and somehow manage not to lose her cool with any annoying tourists she happens across in her line of work. She has a flair for languages, picking up bits and pieces of various ones from the people she meets. It's also entirely possible that, in the future, she will develop the ability to light candles with her brain. :)
Weaknesses: Diana can't keep to one single task for any extended length of time. That's a big reason for why she's got two jobs to keep her entertained and for why she lives in a city as big and diverse as Washington DC. This does, however, make it difficult for her to keep her attention focused on any one thing or person, making any sort of deep, lasting relationship hard. Her habit of speaking her mind can also get her into trouble since many people aren't fond of hearing the unvarnished truth. As past memories surface, Diana will also find herself conflicted between the relatively straightforward and good-natured person she is now and this other being (liar, thief, murderer, lover of chaos, etc etc) that she once was and the temptation to fall into old, bad habits.
General Deity History: Loki was the Norse god of sudden, unexpected change, also associated with fire, thievery, liars, smooth talkers, and general cunning. His history shows him growing more and more ambivalent through time, until his actions finally land him into hot water too deep for even his skills at smoothing things over to get himself out of and he found himself punished, theoretically, until the end of the world when it is predicted he will lead the forces of darkness (more or less) in the final battle. He was also a shapeshifter and gender changer and slept around like a Bronze Age Casanova.
