Out and About
It was a perfect winter day to be out and about in Los Angeles. The sun was bright and the air was a very mild seventy two degrees and more importantly, Zoey was in school for the day. It was perfect for shopping and Syd wasn't going to pass the opportunity up.

With her substantial increase in salary she could afford to treat herself to some new clothes. She asked if anyone wanted to go along and Aridis had taken her up on the offer. Syd also called her sister Bryn because if anyone loved to go clothes shopping it was Bryn. The woman lived for clothes.

Right now they were taking a break and grabbing a bite to eat. It wasn't anywhere fancy, far from it, but Pink's did have the best hot dogs in the entire city. Possibly the United States. Syd worked on a chili cheese dog as they sat outside at one of the tables.

Bryn worked on her own chili cheese dog, blessed with both a good metabolism and the ability to eat very light after an indulgent meal, and eyed her younger sister curiously. Syd liked books, not clothes. Syd had to be urged to buy a new outfit. Syd wasn't acting like Syd.

Who better than a sister to get to the bottom of it?

She wiped her mouth with a napkin and sat back in the patio chair. "Did we get everything you wanted today?"

	Syd nodded as she swallowed the food her in mouth. "Yes. I just needed some more suits for meetings. I have no idea how many I'm going to have to actually go to." She looked at Aridis. "You're hardly the easiest person to compliment, Syd. You start making excuses if somebody says they like your shoes. He was probably going for the obvious because you are a great mom to Zoey. She's a fabulous kid." Bryn sighed. "We're taking some of this stuff back right after lunch and we're getting you a more-you wardrobe. You, just more comfortable and approachable."

	Syd climbed out of the car and hurried toward the door. The drive back had been quick and had broken quite a few traffic laws and speed limits.
