Peter Pettigrew
Gryffindor
First generation pureblood
May 15, 1960[Personal]Personality: While in one aspect he's the weak follower he is portrayed as, the other aspect shows him as a strong force that shouldn't be messed with. Peter is very much a follower (first with his family and then his friends), but it doesn't stop him from having him own mind. He might not voice his thoughts often, but he still has his own. To him, knowing the difference between right and wrong and not doing anything is better than blindly jumping into something without knowing anything (or doing whichever one you want). Somehow, it all makes sense to him.
History: The history really starts with his grandfather (Hufflepuff), who was muggle-born. Then his father (Ravenclaw), who was still a half-blood (and hated that fact). When Peter was born, his father constantly reminded him that he was pureblood and, if Peter so much as questioned anything regarding that, his father hexed him. They weren't harsh hexes, but just enough to remind not only Peter, but himself that wizards were not to use "muggle means" for anything. Until Hogwarts, Peter was confused (his grandfather's portrait talked to him often, even if his father forbade it) and blindly followed his father's words. When he was nine, his father died and his mother (Ravenclaw) took over where before she was silent. Peter asked her one day about his grandfather since his portrait had been removed and she told him that he had no grandfather and there was no muggle blood in them at all.
When he entered Hogwarts and became a Gryffindor, his mother was horrified. She claimed that he was in the house of blood-traitors and that he was a disgrace to the family. Not knowing any better, Peter hid himself away from the rest of the house, choosing instead to do homework or wander the grounds.
Eventually, Lily started to pull him into activities within the house and the school. He always kept this from his mother, not wanting her to demand he stop speaking to her. Over the years, Lily helped him open up and become his own person. Staying in Gryffindor helped Peter to open his mind up to different ideas. It was then he started carrying on two separate lives: one at home and one at school. While he was with his mother, it was "pureblood forever" in order to try to get into her good graces. While he was at school, blood didn't matter and he was freer. After a few years, he just got used to it.
Hobbies: With a little prodding, Peter is willing to try anything. However, his favorite things to do it study, sort of. To him, there's not much else to do at times. Other than that, he likes to pleasure read.
Patronus: Peter has yet to perfect his patronus charm. As of now, it fizzles and dies out before anything can form. He tries not to be too put out by this (and allows the others to make up their own stories), but it does make him jealous when others can do it and he can't.
Boggart: Peter's boggart is his father holding a broken wand. He is terrified of letting his father down and not proving himself. His father has threatened many times to snap his wand if Peter messes up again, so he does all he can to both do well in school and put up a happy-home front.
Pet: It isn't his pet, but he does have an owl that goes between Hogwarts and his mother.
Sexual Preference: No preference, though he isn't attracted to either sex. Men are too strong, but he's too shy to talk to girls. He'll wait for someone to come to him for now.
[School]Desired occupation: Peter wants to work with smaller children. More specifically, he wants to invent games for them or play with them to keep them company. If he can't do that, he wants to work in the child services department of the ministry and help the muggle children who are coming in. He doesn't have anything other than that as far as specific, mostly because Peter doesn't want to be upset if he doesn't get his chosen career.
Classes: [TBA]
[What if?]Has anything changed about your character?: Just the relationships he holds with people. That and he isn't as pudgy and rat-like. :D Also, he's a bit more bookish than "canon" Peter, but he still struggles a bit in school.
How do you feel that would affect his/her relationships?: If Severus gets close to them through Lily, he'll grow as a person and be better able to stand up to his mother when it comes time to.
Any future events that you would like to see and/or change from canon?: He doesn't betray James and Lily, for one, because there will be no Harry Potter to betray them to. If Lily and Severus get uber close, he won't join the Death Eaters because he won't really have a reason to.

Other information: Peter was born in the Year of the Rat (more specifically, the Metal Rat). This has a lot of stuff that both fits and doesn't fit within his personality, but it doesn't matter to him.
