character.Name: Rudy Steiner

Personality: Rudy is a fun boy. He likes to talk to people, he likes to go to parties and he loves to not attend class. He doesn't have the best marks, but he doesn't really mind as long as he passes. He gets mostly As with a few Es scattered about. He is incredibly fond of charms, having showed an aptitude for it early in school. Rudy also loves the Muggle world, since a lot of his relatives, (all of them really), are muggles. He thinks their televisions are fascinating. Unfortunately, he's never allowed to tell them that he can do magic, so he can't show off for them. His parents figure the relatives are better off without the stress of a wizard running around with their children. His mother's side of the family are aware of his abilities, but they never spend time together. While Rudy doesn't necessarily value hard work as much as his housemates do, he does value honesty and fair play. He never intentionally lies, and never, ever cheats. He thinks cheating is ridiculous. Why do all that work to get a perhaps right answer when you can just find the right one yourself. (Or guess, as he frequently does.) He's also incredibly loyal to his friends and house, and can keep secrets to the grave.
Family MOTHER Daphne [Boot] Steiner (39), is a Muggleborn witch. She fell in love with Daniel when she met him at a football game in the summer before her Sixth year. He knew right away there was something special about her, but he didn't find out until after he had proposed. He didn't mind though, the fact that she was a witch just made him love her ever more. Daphne spends most of her time at home, cleaning and re-cleaning. She has a bit of OCD. Rudy loves her very much and helps her out as best he can.
FATHER Daniel Steiner (43), works as a lawyer in London. He gets paid quite a bit, so he tends to spoil his family with nice little trinkets. Their home is modest, but he makes sure they get the best of everything else. Rudy and his father don't speak much, though Rudy knows his father must love him and be proud of him. Truth be told, Daniel's a little afraid of Rudy.
History: Rudy grew up in London, knowing that he was most likely going to be attending Hogwarts when he turned eleven. All of his friends would ask him what he wanted to do when he grew up, and he never would give them a straight answer. He wasn't allowed. He would mumble something about being a football player and then quickly change the subject. When his letter arrived, it was the happiest day of his life. His mother was extremely proud and took him to Diagon Alley the same day to buy all of his supplies. He went off to school and was sorted into Hufflepuff, and his mother was pleased. Rudy quickly made friends and even had a girlfriend at one point in his first year. They broke up, though, and Rudy survived.
In 1940, Rudy's fifth year, his family had to move our of London, due to the Blitz. They barely managed to escape; two weeks after they had moved, their section of London was bombed and their former home was destroyed. Rudy hates the Nazis and Hitler for destroying his home and city. He doesn't like living in the country, and the fact that he hasn't seen any of his Muggle friends since he moved makes him worry. He doesn't know any way he can help, apart from signing up to fight with the Allies (which his mother will Not let him do.) He thinks Hitler is a sick, sick man and should be shot.
