She could hear the Ravenclaws laughing and milling about in the common room, but Eliza paid no mind. It was dark in the room, so she couldn't be sure what time it was unless she sat up to find the clock, and she didn't feel like moving that much at the moment. Eliza grinned however, lying on her stomach with the thin sheet clutched to her chest underneath her. She watched Dedalus sleep with keen interest, and wondered about how many naps they'd taken and the strange hours of their sleeping patterns since she was finally allowed back into Gryffindor the night before. In all honesty, Eliza would not be surprised if they hadn't left his dorm (and more specifically, his bed) in two days.
Oh. Her cheeks blushed a deep red at the thought, but it was true. It was really astonishing how much you missed sex when you couldn't have it for a while, Eliza had never understood those complaints from her roommates or friends, but now, well. She hoped they never were locked out from each other's rooms again.
Eliza's hand crept out from under her and soon her fingers were lightly dancing up Dedalus' shoulder, her eyes intently watching his face for a reaction.
Dedalus couldn’t care less about whatever was going on outside of that room. True, he had spent the last month or so locked away in his room like Quasimodo up in his tower, but he was all by himself then, and he had been totally consumed in all of his textbooks and notes. It really wasn’t anything he ever, ever wanted to do again, and even though he knew that there would be a point in time where he was going to have to take his intern exam, his mind was completely off of any sort of test. He wasn’t even thinking about school right now. He was only thinking about how comfortable his bed felt at that moment, since he was absolutely exhausted. But…this time it wasn’t because of studying all night long. Heh.
It was more than obvious that both of them had missed spending time with each other, and they had a lot of time to make up for. N.E.W.T.s had put their relationship on hold to begin with, because well…Dedalus was freakish with his busy schedule, but then there was the whole Ravenclaw and Gryffindor war that had pushed them further apart. So, of course when they were able to be around each other again, they were going to celebrate a little.
Or, you know…a lot.
His eye lids twitched slightly as he felt something creeping up his arm, and after letting out a low and quiet groan, he let his lashes part gradually so he was able to see Eliza. He gave her a very tired smirk before he raised his hand to take hold of the one of hers that had been traveling up his arm. “Hey…” His voice was groggy, and his grip on her fingers was loose since he was barely awake. “How long’ve you been awake…?”
"Not long," she sort of lied. She had been waking up and falling back to sleep for the past...she believed it was two hours. It was that strange sort of slumber, where you simply could not wake yourself up, even if you wanted. Sleep took over your mind and it was a nice place to be in. Eliza let out a breath and pushed herself to sit cross legged, sheet tucked tightly under her arms as she held onto his hand, "You can go back to sleep if you want."
She probably wouldn't let him, though. Eliza's other hand took interest in Dedalus' and she methodically spread his fingers out and traced the lines and creases of his knuckles and palm. Was it creepy, if she said that she would be fine touching him like this, slowly and thoughtfully, for many extended periods of time? She could really play with his hair or hold his hand or---anything, just anything with Dedalus, all day, and Eliza wasn't too concerned about that sounding sappy or silly; she enjoyed the fact that there was someone special enough in her life to warrant that kind of attention.
"When does your internship start?" she asked, even if he did decide to go to sleep. Eliza knew the answer to this; she'd asked him and Brianna the same question a few times, but she liked figuring out time frames. It all depended on their N.E.W.T grades, so if they past those (which she knew they would), the next week they'd start the program.
And she'd be bored out of her mind with her boyfriend and best friend working shifts that could go up to forty-eight hours.
