Flashback: Two years ago.
The Red King was starting to nod off where he lounged. His associates thanked Minnie for her performances and for the 'joint operation' they'd participated in earlier together. They get her coat for her and show her out.
Minnie returns to her little flat and waits as instructed for the knock at the door. She's tired, but she can't go to bed yet. The Tall Lady is coming.

There is a knock at the door, but when Minnie answers it, no one is there.

When she returns to her living room, the Black Queen sits elegantly in the chair she has just vacated. The fabric is soft and form-fitting, but Selene somehow manages to make it appear like some kind of dark throne.

"You have done well, Minerva." she says, looking out of the nearest window at the London night.

"What have you to report?" she asks.

	"Thank you, Ma'am," Minnie said, looking at the floor. "The job went well, and then he really enjoyed the performance. There's a lot of...contrast? "I dislike the term, 'Most Likely', Minerva. All things are likely; I am interested only in what will be." Selene says, fixing the young woman with a cold glare, offset by a razor smile.

The child was so obvious in her desire it was laughable.

"Your feelings betray you, child. You wish to know how my son fares." Selene says, nodding to a manila folder on her coffee table.

"In there is your latest update on your paramour, such as he is." Selene says, looking out the window again.

What Minnie lays eyes upon inside the envelope are photos, which are worth a few thousand words.

The photos are of Julian with a very buxom, leggy blond woman in various coital positions. He seems to be enjoying himself and so does she.

Around picture number six or so, Minnie will even notice the expression Julian wears when feeding.

"As you can see, he is well, Minerva. Worry not." Selene says, as though she'd just shown the girl a hand-written missive of little import.

	Minnie blinks in surprise -- not that she objects to Julian having a sex life, but she normally only sees it when it's common friends. Because in those cases, she was there, too. At six or so, seeing that he's most likely getting all his needs fulfilled by some girl who looks like everything she's not... "Yes, thank you, Ma'am," she says in a very small voice. 	Minnie isn't nearly stupid enough to ask to stay until Julian comes, but her heart aches. "Yes, Ma'am. Whatever needs doing." Still, she'll get the quiet times, alone at night, to know that things are going well for Julian, and she helped, even if she can't be there. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Obtain what is necessary. You know how." Selene says, rising from her chair. "You will see me again in three weeks' time. I will come to you in the dark. You will report again then.
