Open to Friends!
Alice could now say she understood why people made such a fuss over weddings.

Well, no, not really---she would enjoy having the pictures with her friends, and dancing, but everything else was really unnecessary to her. Not that it was bad, no, no it was terribly fun to dress up and see everyone else dress up, but she had never been one to seek attention. And, really, that's all a wedding was, making sure everyone in the whole world knew that the bride and groom loved each other very much. Let's show you by wearing a big white dress and snazzy tuxedo!

No, no--they could just look back at the year Frank and Alice have had as a married couple, to understand what they meant to each other. Admittedly, it wasn't as stressed as some other's may have been, thankfully, but they still had made it. A lot of people don't even get to one year, and Alice was very, very proud of them.

Of course, their marriage might be over the moment Frank found out she helped a certain Slytherin sneak into their house last night, but Alice had faith in her husband; or, at least, she had faith in her ability to produce tears on the spot, and therefore confuse her husband into forgiving her.

Hey--to make a marriage work, you have to know how to survive.

With the party in full swing, Alice made her way through the crowd, thanking people for coming and accepting compliments and all the other things a bride-again was supposed to do. It was really nice, seeing all of her friends with happy, smiling faces, as it had been such a rough year. Maybe there was a reason for weddings afters all.

Snookums!

She fit into a tiny dress.

She fit into a tiny dress!

Liz had really, really, really been looking forward to being able to slip inside a little sexy number for the first time in months, she really, really had. And for a woman who'd just given birth five days prior, she looked rather good! The healer said sometimes that happens, if you're naturally small then--poof! Belly gone! And that's what had happened, mostly. Of course there was weight she'd gained, but still. Fitting into this bridesmaid's dress had been all that was on her mind for the past week.

Well---until Katie arrived, of course.

And now, as she tried to waltz or whatever with Ian, her daughter was the only thing she could think of. Did Alice have to pick a pink theme? Pink was for girls, and Katie was a girl and Katie was all alone with Ian's parents! All. Alone. Without her mummy!

The poor girl had been alive for five days and her mother was already abandoning her! OH, SHE WAS GOING TO GROW UP TO BE A SERIAL KILLER, OR SOMETHING!

"I should probably floo over for a second," Liz said, tilting her chin up to Ian with a stern expression, "She gets fussy when--you don't hold the bottle right."

Now, now she wasn't saying that Ian's mother couldn't hold a bottle, or feed a baby, because obviously she had with Ian and Ellie (unless she like--knew some secret magic spell that she hadn't taught Liz--oh, oh she better have oh God--), but Katie required a special touch.

That only her mummy could provide.

Therefore she needed to go home to her baby.

"Liz, stay." Ian firmed his hold on his fiancée and smirked down at her affectionately. Being a new father, he of course was feeling the pangs of separation in his first extended (extended being more than ten minutes) period of time away from his daughter just as badly as Liz was. But Katie was with his parents, who had been absolutely dying to get a second alone with their first grandchild, and after almost a week of basically no relaxation, they needed this too. So Ian had been batting off Liz's worrying--with some reluctance, Katie did get fussy when she---no, no--and continuing to keep her occupied to the best of his ability. "I'm sure my mother has dealt with plenty of fussing from babies between my sister and I."

They continued to sway back and forth on the dance floor, and he found that his hands unconsciously kept running up and down her sides. Her sides that were very not-large, like her stomach that was not-large, which had to be some kind of freak of nature thing, but Ian wasn't about to complain that she'd popped right back to her old form. Not that Liz hadn't looked fabulous while she was pregnant--she always looked fabulous--but damn. Ian really didn't have a lot of experience with pregnant women, but from those he'd known, he didn't recall any of them looking this much like their old selves five days after popping out a kid.

"So I guess this'll be us in just less than a month, won't it?"

She had been so ready to retort that Ian's parents didn't know how to take care of Katie, but that probably would not have gone over well. Right. Well. Ian seemed to trust these 'parents of his', so she should as well, yeah? Right.

UGH THIS WAS SO HARD.

What happened when Katie wanted to go to her first sleepover? Merlin's beard, Liz knew she'd have to go over and investigate the house, interrogate the parents, and then set up wards on the sleeping bags to make sure that no boys could get in. And what about when she--when she wanted to go to Hogwarts? Oh--oh fuck that, that girl was getting home schooled, there was no way she'd let her even get the chance to run around with hooligans like Black or---oh, wow.

Wow.

She was going insane. Mummy insane. Right. Let's stop talking about that.

Liz peered over at the married-again couple with a thoughtful expression that slowly tilted up into a smile, "I suppose it will be. With a lot less pink."

Except she did like the pink, but Liz was going for more of a blueish-not-super-romantic theme. Sure she knew she was going to cry and be hysterically happy at her own wedding, but the day was to have fun and just be bouncing around in joy, so. Lots of funky colors that weren't girly and romantic. Not that Ian had much say, so they probably were girly, but.

"Holy shit, my boobs are huge," she muttered, after trying to press closer to Ian and failing because of the two blimps that had exploded into size on her chest. Liz looked up with a grin; she was really rather liking her post-baby body.

Adamina + baby

Tim had to admit. He rather liked having a reason to dress up. Mostly because that meant Adamina could dress up, and then he got to look at her all night. Lately she was a funny sight, either eating everything in sight or pushing her hands in to her lower back to try and make her barely showing stomach protrude more, but, still. He loved seeing his wife all dolled up, and if he had to put on a monkey suit to get her to do so, then, sure.

He'd been surprised with how many people he actually had known at the reception; it seemed like the Longbottoms just invited their entire year, plus anyone else they'd ever enjoyed talking to. Loads of the Hufflepuffs were there, and Tim found himself laughing and smiling more than he had since...since, well, he supposed, his wedding.

Which, of course, brought back some nostalgia, and he happily let it take over. They were married nearly six months now, a baby on the way, and life couldn't be better. He didn't think it could, at least, because his life had never gotten to this point of good.

"I have for you," Tim said, returning to their table with three glasses, one floating in the air beside his shoulder. He gently put them all down in front of Adamina, "Water. Fruit punch, non-alcoholic, and...this...pineapple, thing. Also non-alcoholic. Apparently there are a lot of pregnant ladies floating about."

Adamina sat at the table her and Tim were seated at and fiddled with her dress. She loved weddings and receptions and every other reason to go out and look good. Especially now that she was pregnant! She was excited that she was starting to show. Hardly, but it was still something, at least. She crossed her legs beneath the table and fiddled with her dress some more. Yeah, as soon as she had a chance to stand up, she'd make her baby bump show even more. Plus, the dress was helping a lot!

She looked around at all the other couples and all of the other people who were out and about, mingling with their friends. Not too too many people were there that she knew, but it didn't matter to her, as long as she was there with Tim and happy, that's what counted. And naturally the happy couple that were wedded was a good thing, as well. It was good to go to big functions like this and have fun. That's what was important and she was definitely having fun and laughing and talking to people.

When Tim returned with drinks for the two of them, she smiled happily at him and looked over her options. "I'll go with the water," she said, taking it and sipping at it slowly. "So this is fun!" Mina added after putting her glass down and smiling at her husband. "And I'm glad there are a lot of pregnant ladies floating around, it gives me a chance to question them about every month and see what I should expect!"

Tim nearly snorted out his fruit punch (he would happily finish off the rest of the drinks) at Adamina's comment, and he put the back of his hand to his mouth to keep the liquid in. Oh, that would be brilliant, aye? Spitting up all over his suit in front of at least a hundred people. At least it wasn't at his own wedding.

"I'm sure they'll be happy to oblige," he said after swallowing everything completely. Tim sat back, looking out onto the dance floor for a moment. It was nice, seeing people from school again. He hadn't been the most popular, but he'd at least been friendly with a lot of people. Alice in particular, which was probably why they were invited; they'd been Herbology partners for all their years in Hogwarts. "Liz Fortescue just had her baby, did you hear? She could tell you about labor, maybe."

Which would be more than odd, but Tim supposed there was no reason for him to stop his wife from learning all she could. It would make this all easier, right? He'd never had a baby before, and while Ryan was already a dad, it wasn't as if Tim had been following Audrey's pregnancy as closely. So--maybe it wasn't a bad idea, to start figuring this out.

Fabian?

Bess was a little more than high-strung, at the moment. She wanted to have a good time, it was the first time she'd been out and about with Fabian's group of friends and what not, it was a wedding so therefore super nice and romantic, but, she couldn't help herself. Yesterday, in an uncharacteristically nice way, she'd taken Sadie to the park near their flat, to, you know. Be a good mummy.

Fabian was making her like that, you know. She was trying harder to do things for Sadie, to make him see that she really wasn't that big of a fuck up, and, well, she was enjoying it far more than she ever thought she could. At least, she did when she didn't run into Sadie's father.

Oh, Bess couldn't fathom why she'd ever found him attractive. Chester was handsome, almost inhumanely so, but there was a nastiness to his soul that sent shivers through her veins. So, of course the first time she sees him after telling him she was pregnant (and him telling her she was a slag and the baby wasn't his), she has Sadie with her. That wasn't the oddest part, though. Chester seemed far too interested in her daughter than Bess would've liked, and his comments and looks and--it was just unnerving.

She should be dancing, because she was a good dancer, but Bess found herself seated at their table, hands clasped together on her lap and knees bouncing. She just couldn't stop thinking about the encounter.

It had taken Fabian a while to actually get up and leave the table, since he felt very guilty just leaving Bess to sit there by herself. He had asked her if she wanted to walk around with him, but she seemed…uncomfortable about it. He just thought she was nervous about being around so many people that she didn’t really know that well. There was no way that he would be able to know that it was something much more than just that. So, after telling her about a million times that he would be right back, he had gotten up to make his way around the room, saying quick hello’s to everyone, trying to hurry things up to get back to Bess. People kept stopping him though, trying to make small talk with him. He would just keep making up odd excuses to get away and not be rude.

By the time he had made at least one ‘lap’ around the room, he had said hello to almost everyone. In his opinion, ‘almost everyone’ was a step forward, and he would be able to sit down with Bess and not feel bad about avoiding anyone. So, he would try and make his way back to the table, approaching her as an upbeat song began to play. As he walked towards her, he noticed that she looked very uptight. Brows furrowed as he stopped in front of her, his head canted to the side. “Hey…you alright? I tried to get back as soon as I could.”

What on earth was Potter trying to get Pettigrew to do...? Bess' head shook slightly out of her gaze upon the boys as Fabian addressed her. She stared up at him oddly for a moment, before looking back over at the boys, then down to her hands, and then back up at Fabian, a tight grin on her face. He looked very handsome, even if he did look a bit worried, about---oh, he was worried about her. Bess wasn't used to actually caring about other people's feelings, but she didn't want Fabian being upset because of her.

"I'm fine," she said, standing. Bess struck a little pose, tossing her hair over her shoulder. Hell, she hadn't been able to dress up in such a long time, she shouldn't be sitting her sulking and making Fabian be all worried. About her. Sigh. She could put Chester out of her mind for the night, right? It wasn't like he'd shown any real interest in his daughter.

A pang struck her in the gut at the thought of Sadie's father not giving two shits about her, but Bess pushed it aside again. She'd make up for that.

"Let's dance," she said, going up on her tiptoes with pursed lips. Bess dropped back down on her heels, "Maybe you can break out the hokey pokey."

Turning his head, he tried to figure out what she had been staring at, only to let out a light laugh as he shook his head, watching as Peter frowned and shuffled onto the dance floor with his girlfriend. The poor kid looked miserable, and he was certain that if it wasn’t for James prodding at him, the poor blonde who was crazy enough to hang around with Pettigrew would have had a very boring night, staring at her shoes. The grin remained on his features as he looked back to Bess, even though it faded slightly as he noticed how forced her own smile was.

“If you say so.” He knew that it was best not to pry, but if she kept acting weird for the rest of the night, than he’d know something was wrong. For now though, he’d just try and enjoy his time there. Frank and Alice were only going to get married once, so—

Okay, well, so they were married twice, but they were going to only have one wedding. He didn’t want to look back and remember being upset during the reception. He wanted to have a good time, and he wanted Bess to have a good time, but he wasn’t just going to let whatever was making her miserable slide. He’d bring it up later, maybe, when they were far away from the cheery happy people.

“I don’t think you can handle the hokey pokey. And besides, I don’t want to upstage the bride and groom.” He grinned again, reaching down for her hand as he spoke before he led her over to the dance floor.

She grinned, following Fabian eagerly. It was oh-so-nice to have a boyfriend, to be able to go out like this. She'd waited all her years at Hogwarts to get out into the real world and have her fun (or rule the ministry, either or) but of course she'd made her mistakes and had to put all that on hold. Thank goodness that her brother simply adored Sadie and loved taking her whenever he could. Adam really deserved a some sort of trophy as greatest-uncle-ever. Veronica, too, but she was around with that crazy auror of hers, so.

So, it was nice, it was very nice to feel like the young person she was. Not everyone got the happy ending when the bad things came their way (not that Sadie was bad, Bess didn't think that anymore--).

Bess was very lucky that Fabian liked to dance. Not that she'd doubted it, not with his fun-loving reputation (oh, yes, she'd followed him closely in school), but it was very nice that her boyfriend liked to go out and do fun things like this, that he had no problem with doing what she enjoyed. And he was good at it, too, so Bess got to twirl and be dipped quite a few times before the music slowed. Aw, okay. Weddings were super romantic, and Bess pulled Fabian close as they fell into a slowly rocking step.

"I love this song," she said softly, resting her head on Fabian's shoulder.

Sigh. She really, really, really loved weddings. And winning the quidditch cup. And sex. She really loved all of those things, really. Really, really.

Her vocabulary had gone to shit.

Emmeline didn't mind it for now, though, and she sat blissfully unaware of her surroundings at table near the drinks, chin in hand and eyes nearly glazed from the euphoric mood she'd found herself in. This weekend had been exactly what she needed; winning, boyfriend, pretty dresses---just everything to keep her sane for her last, extremely stressful month of Hogwarts. Yes, Emmeline was sure she'd be able to thrive off of these past two days and make sure she passed her N.E.W.T.s with outstandings across the board, because she was just that happy.

Huh. Happy. That was a word her vocabulary hadn't been used to emitting. Hmm.

Her daydreaming was broken by someone entering her peripheral vision, rather close, really, and Emmeline's eyes slowly lifted to face them, a lazy grin on her face.

Caradoc pressed his lips together in amusement at the sight of Emmeline's face. Well, didn't she look... blissfully unaware and glazed over. Not that that bothered him at all. In fact, it made him feel incredibly smug. Smug, in addition to the upbeat mood he was in, considering that he was at a wedding, of all things. The fact that this wasn't even a real wedding, because the Longbottoms had been married for a year already, and yet everyone was being forced to treat it was one didn't even bother him. It would take a lot to bother him now. Or, you know, just one really fucking annoying Gryffindor.

The amused smile was still on his face as Caradoc leaned over to her eye level. He took the sides of her face into both his hands, as if preparing to inspect her for something on her face. "You look like you're on drugs," Caradoc deducted happily a few seconds later. The hint of pride in his voice was undeniable, and Caradoc dropped his hands from her face to move and sit in the chair next to her.

"It suits you," he added, chin turning to rest on his shoulder to look at Emmeline. Caradoc grinned again, making another funny face.

It was really hard not to picture him naked.

Her eyes locked onto Caradoc's immediately, feeling her face heat up instantly at his touch. It was hard not to think of things when he touched her, was close to her, and Emmeline was sure she'd be able to handle all of this much better at a later time, but right now? Oh, well. Right now, she was rather wrapped up in the fact that she knew exactly what was going on underneath those rather dashing robes of Caradoc's, what could go on a few times and---

---right. Make yourself out to be a complete and utter tart, why don't you, Vance?

At least it was only going on in her head. She was allowed to be completely smitten by her boyfriend in her head, yes? Yes. That was part of the rules, she believed. Of course, she was only going to let it go on in her head (and of course, letting Anneliese know, because she had to let Anneliese know), because Emmeline knew the kind of games that went on when she got wrapped up in a boy (and, wow, two of her ex-boyfriends were in the wedding party, haa..).

Got wrapped up, had fun, got serious, things went to shit. So. She was going to be careful this time.

"Does it?" she asked, mimicking his pose, scrunching her shoulders in a much more flirty manner than him, however. Emmeline's batted slowly, her satisfied grin plastered on her face.

Sirius wasn't hiding or sulking or doing anything that one might've expected of him lately. He was pushing out of his mind that the last time he was at a wedding, he and Laura were together in the coat room. And then things went to shit. This time things had gone to shit before hand, but Sirius Wasn't Thinking About That. He was currently stacking petits fours on his plate, ordering them by shape and color, making stacks and towers and was planning on eating his way around the stack, but he didn't want to get any chocolate on his nice pink vest, so he stuck a pink napkin in his collar and set about taking one of the petit fours off of the highest stack and popping it in his mouth.

In fact, everything was pink - Sirius was pretty sure he would win the bet that Frank was wearing pink underwear, Alice seemed to have a fondness for the color, but it wasn't like the entire area looked like a cotton candy maker had exploded, it was nice. Though, Sirius would've probably added some more greys, but it wasn't his wedding and really, it didn't matter all that much. Right now, all that mattered was finishing all of these little cake candy things.

"Ooh, those are very good," Alice said with a smile as she peeked around Sirius and his plate. Yes, she and Frank had much fun picking out the desserts. Probably the only part of this whole planning thing that her husband did enjoy, but at least he knew how to pick out food. Never could deny that! But, her eyebrows did quirk up funnily at Sirius' tower of chocolate, and Alice lifted her skirt up a bit to inch closer. Not just to get a better look, but to maybe strike up a conversation with Sirius, see how he was doing.

...oh, she really needed to stop butting into people's business. It was going to get her in trouble someday.

But she couldn't help it! Maybe it was because she didn't want kids of her own right now, that Alice was just simply overly maternal. She was always this way with James, and she admittedly was the calmest out of all her roommates, a problem solver---and now she had Emmeline, who she wanted to become like a sister to, deeply (most of this had to do with Frank's relationship with the girl, though Alice would never admit a jealousy there). So--she was just naturally maternal, motherly, and with the Order, they were all family to her, so--she. Cared. She cared a lot.

"Are you having a good time?" she asked, honestly concerned about that. It would be no good if everyone wasn't enjoying themselves.

Gleny shifted her feet beneath her, almost amazed at the fact that when she sat down (which she was doing now), she could not able to see anything down at the flor over her stomach. Well, she could if she leaned far enough but she didn't exactly feel like doing that. Too much work--- or cause too much sweat to happen. It wasn't as if she was complaining about it, just that... alright, it was weird that she was due in basically two months. That was what amazed her because everything had flown by and here they were. Wow. Really close to baby time.

She let out a low breath of air, and then propped her eblows to lay flat on the table. The wedding (again?) was beautiful, everyone there was dressed up so nicely and---- Gleny felt her eyes well up a bit as she pulled her lips back, trying not to make another scene because there was no reason for her to be crying over the beauty of this wedding. They had gone to many weddings before, and while this one was much different than any others (as they all were)---- apparently talking herself out of her hormonal change was not possible.

From the seat next to her, Gideon turned to face her, most likely alarmed at the fact that his wife was making sniffling and weepy noises. Gleny tried to shrug, or at least convey that she was fine, but that only resulted in more sniffling, and much more confusion. "I don't know why I'm crying," she mustered, a frown forming on her face as she pulled one of Gideon's hands into her own.

Everything was pink. Pink! How could everything be pink?

Sure, there were chocolate colored napkins, and the bridesmaids had a brown little ribbon, but pink was the overwhelming color. Agatha put on a good face when people greeted her or when she rushed over to say her hellos, but it was almost painful to be in the sea of pink. Surely Frank had nothing to do with this; Alice must have a couple of screws loose.

She was probably just being mean. This whole happy-ever-after wedded bliss had never been part of her mindset, or at least, Agatha hadn't really had a chance for it, so maybe she was just being harsh. But it was a lot of pink.

"Smeth," she stated, gripping onto her friend's arm. Agatha had basically been dragging him around the place, because...because she could. And he needed to get out of his rut, "Dance."

Even though Smeth had not planned on going to the Longbottom wedding date-less, here he was. He tried his darnedest to put on his best face and smile and greet old friends, but of course, no matter how many times he tried to ignore the happy, smiling couples around him and focus on chatting it up with friends...

SIGH.

Luckily one of his best friends Aggie Timms was here as well. It sometime astonished him that such a little person could exert so much force (he will adamantly swear that Agatha had some sort of superhuman strength; it would make him feel loads better about his own lack of bodily strength).

"Certainly," he said agreeably, setting down the hors d'oeuvre Marlie McKinnon had handed to him and taking Agatha's lead onto the dance floor.

"So, I'm sneaking into the Hobgoblin concert next weekend to try and get Stubby Boardman to endorse SETMAC," she said as if commenting on the weather. Well, it was her plan, anyway. The Hobgoblins were the it band of the time, and Agatha had been noticing that the band members were--she supposed, a bit friendly by their comments in the journals.

Hey, they probably had a million crazy fan girls trying to get backstage daily, one of them has to get through at some point. And she had a more worthy cause than shagging Stubby.

Which would probably not be a bad thing, but. Not on her list of things to do. Literally? Noo.

"What do you think?" she asked, eyebrows quirking high, "Got any advice? Any of your superheroes go on any adventures that could help me out?"

"Hmmm." Green eyes narrowed slightly in consideration at her question and he smiled. "Perhaps you can go in disguise? Maybe dress yourself as one of his fangirls so you can easily get past security, or something of that sort?"
