Tattooed

Do you have a tattoo and if you do where, what is it, and what’s the story behind it?

If not would you get one and where and what?

Me I’ve got a cross on my left shoulder that I got on my eighteenth birthday because I could and can remind me that just because holy stuff can hurt me I’m not evil. Had to add a little magic to it so my it doesn’t just get healed out.

I used to sometimes consider getting a spot tattooed over my eye, like Mom and Uncle Laz, but decided against it.

Face tattoos aren't for everyone they can be hard to pull off.

Yeah. Plus I realize that Mom and Uncle Laz might think of it as less 'family solidarity' and more 'weird'. Their matching was a matter of circumstance, and I already have the streaky-hair thing Dad had at my age by nature. A tatt would be a conscious decision to look more like them, and if there's one thing Mom can't abide, it's a Copycat.

Truth be total I've got a hair streak too. Had it since I was real little too though I kind of hide fanatically.

I'm pale and vaguely-potentially-gothy-looking enough that it doesn't cause many any trouble.

A three inch thick streak of white in a three year old tends to make you self conscious about it. Little kids are mean.

...That's a tattoo? I always figured it was natural.

Naturally, Mom and Uncle Laz just had completely white skin. Those are state of the art tattoos they got when they were babies.

Mom's not exactly super-informative. She likes the fact that people get confused as to whether it's makeup or natural or what.

I briefly had a tattoo of a snake on my arm. It wasn' voluntary, and I was glad to see it go.

How did that tattoo happen then?

Part of a spell. Once some friends and cousins tanned the caster's hides enough, it went away.

Really power occult stuff there. Sometimes when I use magic I get covered in glowing red occultic symbols.

I have tattoos all over my body. I got them during my warrior training. I really like them and it’s a very common thing among my people especially facial tattoos.

It was a drunken night time hopping in the future. I was trying to help out a friend and there was a lot of tequila involved. It's all a little hazy but seemed like a good idea at the time. But at least I ended up with a cool Celtic design,at least I think it's Celtic, tattoo on my right shoulder.

Very cool and the symbolism behind it is equally as cool.

I have my initials tattooed on my right wrist MJSD. I still haven’t told my dad or anyone else in my family about it and typically keep it covered up around them not sure how dad would react.

Tattoos aren't my thing, but I wanted to mention a friend of mine who also has a holy symbol, a chalice. Just like my necklace :: shows flaming chalice necklace:: but she wanted something she couldn't lose.

Same as Moira, I had an unwilling one for a while, but of my own choice, I've got a pink tiger-claw print on my left cheek.

I love tattoo parlors. Especially the part where they think they've put in two hours of work on some incredibly intricate design, come back, and its all gone, other than maybe a little ink bleed.

That said, getting it done the old fashioned way, either Japanese or Samoan, is kind of awesome. Takes forever, but the needles and inks and flesh and the intricacy involved is kinda cool and occasionally made me wish one would last.

Wow you sure know a lot about them. You probably could find a way to make it permanent there probably are ways if you really did want it.

Not really, the whole uber-regeneration thing resists needles and inks and permanent alterations. I do use the temporary tattoos now and then though, if I want something that'll last a weekend.

Do you know if graphite might work for one because I know in normal humans if you get it in deep it will just stay there forever since it’s doesn’t do any harm to the body so it won’t force it out. I do know a few things about uber-regeneration.

It lasts longer, but doesn't last. If I slice myself up in not-easily-visible spots to get attention on the actual wounds, I can get graphite tats to stick around for a couple hours.

Tough, I use magic to make mine stay so it doesn’t heal out or get transformed out.

Mine, I just found it, is a great big warning to stay away from Olympus or they'll execute me. My uncle, the God of War, delivered it when I was younger. It hurt like hell.

I have a tattoo of a clock inside a bottle with the letters "IICSTIAB" directly beneath it.

The letters are the first letter in each word of the first line of my favorite song, Time In A Bottle, by Mr. Jim Croce.
