Mafalda!
"Jacob. Jacob. Don't. Don't---"

Estella sighed, waving a dismissive hand as she watched her son attempt to climb the ladder on the jungle gym. Which was definitely not going to end well, but he could try. Her niece was a bit older and had already mastered the gym, so, with Marcus' influence plus his cousin, Jacob truly believed he could run around with the big kids.

It was nice getting a day with her sister-in-law, just the girls (and Jacob, but he was easy to control, so she didn't count him often). Florence was always so busy with her job at the salon, so she rarely got to see her sister these days, but Mafalda had been her friend since way back in Hogwarts---Estella hadn't been very in with the Slytherins in her year, and it probably didn't help that she'd befriended a Hufflepuff early on. But, school grudges and rivalries were long gone, and she honestly didn't care anymore.

She leaned back into the park bench and tilted her head toward Mafalda, a slight grin on her face. She'd been meaning to ask her if she was going to attend her recital next week (oy, next week), but Estella kept remembering that they'd both need sitters, and seeing as they usually just switched kids...

"After Jacob busts his knee open, I say---nap time, then we try out that spinach dip Tobias was going on about."

Mafalda watched Caleigh contently, knowing she wouldn't try any daring moves on the swings, or go rolling down a hill by herself. Still, her eyes never left the younger girl as she climbed ladders and jumped about with Jacob and another kid. A small sigh of relief was given. How was her kid so bloody well behaved? Perhaps it was Tobias' calm demeanor, given, that wasn't ALL of the time. A small smile tugged on her lips and she looked over at Estella.

"Nap time would be very much appreciated," she said with grin and a nod before looking back at the kids again. "He said it was good, so I'm assuming, it's good." That probably had been the first compliment she said in the direction of Tobias in months. She hadn't been feeling quite attached to him like she used to. Perhaps it was all his working and her being around with their daughter. Their daughter that hardly saw her daddy anymore. "Hell, I could use a nap."

Estella nodded, completely understanding the need for adult naps. Of course, her mind was always so rattled so by the time she actually got Jacob down, finished what she wanted to do while he was asleep, and then flopped onto the couch, her son would be up and the whole cycle would begin again.

She...didn't really notice any sort of tone with Mafalda's voice, concerning her brother, but Estella had noticed the slight tension when she did see the two together, which...was not very often. She knew Tobias was busy, but surely he'd been a healer long enough to get some decent shifts?

With a yawn (yes, a nap was needed), she peered back out at the children, "Maybe they'll tire themselves out to sleep for the rest of the day and night?"

Yes, naps were few and far between, but Caleigh had already gone through her fussy stage. She was mostly willing to be put down for a nap, so she was thankful for that. Most days, she just wanted to be carried around, so Mafalda stuck her on her back and went around doing what she needed to do. That way, she didn't have a whole lot to worry about .

She didn't really want anyone to know about her and Tobias. She loved him, he loved her, she assumed, so there wasn't a whole lot to worry about. The only thing she did worry about, however, was his obsessive working habits. He COULD take a day or so off, she hoped he understood that. The last time they spent any time together was their anniversary, in which she mostly forgot about. It was him that reminded her, so she had to make up for it other ways.

"We would only be so lucky!" she teased, shaking the thoughts of her very confusing husband away. Looking over at Estella, she smiled, letting her know all was fine. "So! If I remember correctly, you have a recital coming up soon, yes?" She smirked. "When? Tell me about it!"

"Ooh, yes," Estella said, feeling a blush creep up her neck. She had no idea what had prompted her to make a public journal entry about it, because even if it only made one more person come, that meant one more person watching her! Honestly, the other dancers at work wondered why she even got into dance if she hated performing in front of an audience, but Estella responded that she wanted to dance. She just found such beauty in the art and wanted to go out and learn new dances and just--

---it sounded silly in her head. But she supposed if athletes were allowed to say they play for the game, not the fame or fortune, then she had the right to feel the same way about ballet. At least, that's how she defended it to herself. Out loud, she just got flustered and shrugged.

"There are three performances, the eighteenth to the twentieth." Estella bit her tongue, her expression taking on somewhat of a secretive expression even though it wasn't that much of a secret, "Caden's never seen me dance, he's coming---I don't know whether to be thrilled or terrified."

"Three? I'm sure Tobias and I will make it to all of them! Even if I have to blow up St. Mungo's and drag him there, we'll both be there." Together. In the same room at night? Now that would be a bloody miracle! Mafalda smiled. She wished she had the time to do something, but she really didn't want to have to get a sitter all the time and she surely didn't want Caleigh to begin to forget who her own mother was. Yes, that was her biggest fear.

She smiled at Estella, she was proud! She liked that her sister and law had something good going for her. "I'm sure you'll be fantastic," she said with a reassuring smile to the other woman. "And I'm sure Caden will be shocked, but pleasantly surprised. I believe we all will, what, with you gracing us with a fantastic performance!"

Now she was honest to goodness blushing up a storm, and Estella let out a breath, turning away from Mafalda, only to turn back with an excitedly tight smile on her face. It was always thrilling to see Caden play, even though she'd been to so many of his matches (and she couldn't even get started on the playoffs--), so...she didn't know if he would feel the way she did when she watched him perform. There was that exciting and most of the time she couldn't believe it was actually Caden on the broom, but, there he was and after every match it just made her realize how much more amazing he was.

But, ballet wasn't as nearly as entertaining as quidditch. Well, to her it was, but Estella was terribly worried that he'd get bored and never want to deal with ballet again, and---ugh.

"It's so strange---we've had sex, but I feel like this is going to be more personal," Estella's nose scrunched, "Does that make any sense? Am I being odd?"

Mal smirked. "It is more personal. It's something you want him to ... appreciate you for, not something you'll both be doing together. You want him to be proud." A short snort was given. That probably sounded much more far fetched than what she had just heard from Estella's mouth, but it worked! At least in her head.

Folding her hands, she rested them on her stomach, looking over at the playgrounds watching the kids. It was nice. Having kids, going out, having someone to go out with. If it wasn't her husband, at least it was from the same bloodline. "I wish I had a hobby like that that would make Tobias proud. I just ... sit at home all the time. No time for dancing or singing or ... painting. Cooking, cleaning, ugh." UGH was right. She sounded like a fifties house wife. She was a house wife. She had so many problems, apparently!

Caleigh climbed down from the jungle jim and over towards Mafalda and was quickly scooped up and stuck in her lap. "What'd you do with Jacob, munchkin?" A smile was given as she brushed some of her daughters hair away.
