Geoffrey!
Her hair was in a tight braid, she had on sunglasses that could work as mirrors with the way they reflected everything, and on top of her head was a low-brimmed hat.

Maggie did not want to be caught seen having this conversation with her brother. They had been in correspondence through owls and journal entries, but meetings like this had been few and far between. Geoff was basically a leper in the quidditch world, and while Maggie knew about the trouble he'd gotten himself into, it would be hard to explain to the league, the players she considered family, her own family...Merlin, her parents were out of their minds with worry, with disappointment, it---it wasn't a good place to be in.

But Geoffrey was her brother and he'd helped her out in more ways than she could remember. Maggie was sure she would be dead if it wasn't for his quick thinking and vase smashing on Braith Selwyn's head. She owed him, so she would meet up for him at the dank Hog's Head pub, even if she was deep in disguise.

"You couldn't have found a cleaner establishment?" Maggie said lowly as she wiped down the seat of her stool before sitting upon it. She frowned at Geoffrey, who looked worse for wear. Her expression softened. "How are you?"

Geoff was proud of himself, in his own way. He certainly hadn't made the smartest decisions in his life -- and he'd hurt a lot of people. Maggie, his girlfriend -- but that was going to be over with. The only person he'd been hurting the past few months had been himself, but it had been worth it. The danger that he was in now, it was something he'd brought upon himself doing the right thing. It was something he could be proud of, that he didn't have to hide from his family any more.

He couldn't help the laugh that bubbled up from his throat. He was in too good a mood to have it spoiled by his sister's words. Even if he looked terrible, exhausted, and tired -- he felt better than he had in years. Aberforth had been one of the few people to actually speak to him, to listen to him ramble even if he was pretty sure the other man was half-asleep. It still counted.

"They've got better stew than the Broomsticks," he offered with a half-smirk, shaking his head and clasping his hands together as he put them on the bartop.

"I've got good news. Is it too early for reputable players such as yourself to indulge in a pint?"

Maggie shook her head, smirking at the layer of dirt on the bar counter. "I have a match tonight."

That was the truth, even if she felt like Geoff's 'good news' was going to make her want to drink. Her brother hadn't had anything good to tell her in months, a year, what could have him laughing right now? Maggie remembered quite vividly those men who had banged on her and Adrian's front door trying to find Geoffrey; that was the closest, thankfully, that Maggie and her family had gotten to the trouble that her brother was in. She hoped that this 'good news'

Finding it far too dark in the pub with her sunglasses on, Maggie decided to risk being recognized and took them off. She gripped them tightly, nervous that Geoff was going to tell her he was moving to States to play quodpot and that he'd escape all of the madness he'd created for himself. Perhaps that would be good for him, but she couldn't bear the thought of being so far from her brother---not that she'd admit it outloud, she couldn't, but Maggie felt queasy at the thought.

"I'm afraid to hear what you consider 'good news,'" she said.
