Caden!
It was a strange feeling, having to keep off your feet. Especially when being on your feet was what you did for a living. Estella's bones had settled, but because of the strange break the healers had recommended she keep her foot elevated and to not put much pressure on it for the next few days. The potions were working, but they had to work slowly to make sure everything was completely back together.

She winced as she wiggled her toes, the only part of her foot visible from the end of her pink cast. She felt silly for finding herself in this predicament and wanted to have someone to blame other than herself, but it really was only her fault. She had let one of the older students take on a class, and while trying to not so subtly watch the girl like a hawk, she'd stumbled mid pirouette and had gotten caught up in a nearby stool.

Estella let out a sigh of frustration and dropped her head back into the arm of the couch she was currently sprawled across. Her mother had graciously taken the children off her hands, Adamina had full control of the studio, and Caden was being a wonderful husband and running some errands. The house was a beautiful, eerie silent that any working mother would be grateful for.

It had only been twelve hours and she was miserable. Estella put a pillow over her face and let out a whine. This was torture!

It wasn't the first time Caden had run out of the house to get groceries, but he still never really knew what he was supposed to get. Estella had written him a list, but he didn't know where anything was, and it had taken him longer than it probably should have to find everything, pay for it, and take it all back to the house.

He had the bags balanced in his arms as he apparated into their kitchen, calling out to Estella to let her know that he was home before he worked on unpacking everything. Again, she was normally the one who took care of it, so he had some trouble remembering where shit went, but eventually got everything back into the cabinets or the fridge before he made his way into the living room, where his immobile wife was lying. He had to let out a smirk at the way she covered her face with the pillow - always so dramatic. He lowered himself down in front of the couch, pushing the pillow from her face.

"How you holding up?"

He asked, wondering if she was going stir crazy yet. Usually the tables were turned, with him being the one who had to sit around and heal while bones set. It was a miserable feeling that he knew all too well, and his hand reached out to push her hair out of her face.

Her disgruntled expression remained on her face as he tugged the pillow away. Estella's arms flopped down to her side.

"I don't remember the last time I've sat for so long."

With their three children, there was never a moment of rest, at the studio she was not only an instructor, she was the owner and there were always a million things to be doing, to sign, to approve. At quidditch matches only fools who didn't know the rules of the game stayed seated the entire time so----Estella pushed herself up, not so careful to keep her foot on the pillow and shutting her eyes in pain as it slid off to the couch cushion.

"I can't believe I did this," she exclaimed, gesturing angrily at her foot. It was more frustration than anger, really, but being confined to the couch all day had given her thoughts far too much time to get crazed. "I'm getting sloppy, this isn't the first time I've fallen."

Caden winced when she moved herself up on the couch - he had broken just about every bone in his body over the course of his Quidditch career, and while he wouldn't say that he was used to the pain, he definitely knew how to deal with it better than Estella. He tried not to smirk at her again when she angrily ranted about her foot, and eventually let out a sigh before he stood to his feet. He lifted her legs up off the couch, sitting down before he lowered them down onto his lap. He rested his hand on her knee, looking over to her.

"You're not getting sloppy. You slipped. It happens."

He didn't know the first thing about dancing, but he knew how good Estella was. He also knew what a perfectionist she was, and how much this was killing her.

"You aren't going to be confined to this couch forever."

Even though it hurt to have her foot touched and moved, Estella felt her frustrations melt away at how tender her husband was being with her. She felt the redness of her ears slowly disappear and she let out a breath, leaning forward to press her chin into his arm. Even though she was quite certain that her skills weren't as up to par as they once had been, and that maybe it wasn't that the floor was slanted...Caden always told her the truth, or at least he did not sugarcoat a bloody thing.

"Feels like I am," she said with a pout, a greatly exaggerated one that helped quell her annoyances even further. How could she allow herself to focus on how infuriating it was that she'd messed up in her own dance studio?! Okay--okay! It happened, it happens. No one was perfect.

In her studio she was supposed to be, but it happens.

"There's nothing fun to do on the couch," she muttered, letting out a growl of aggravation and playfully biting Caden's upper arm to demonstrate her current state.

He looked down at her as she leaned into him, giving him the same face their daughter made whenever she didn’t get her way. She was definitely cranky, though again, she had good reason to be. Still, was amusing to him that she was acting like this was the end of her career because she had broken her foot once in all her years of dancing. He couldn’t even imagine how hard she had to have landed to break it like she had, or what kind of maneuver she was trying to do, since when he had asked her in the hospital she just kept babbling at him. They had drugged her up good and proper.

“Well it could be worse – the kids could be home.” He loved their kids more than anything, but they were all little terrors in their own way. Good kids, but terrors all the same. “Marcus and Jacob are maniacal when you’re mobile, just imagine all the hell they’d be raising knowing you were bound to the furniture.”

Her restless biting made him smirk again, and he looked down at her. “Not necessarily …” he started, though his smirk turned a bit devious as he ducked his head down to capture her lips with a kiss. He might not be able to convince her that she wasn’t going to spend an eternity on the couch, but what he could do was try to distract her from thinking about all the other things she could be doing.

"I already had Jacob not believing it was broken and---" Estella's whine was cut off by a most delicious kiss from her husband.

She melted into it quickly, her hand moving up his chest to lay on his shoulder. Hmm, yes, they were in a rather good position for a snog, especially with the children gone. With the quidditch season back in full swing, their whirlwind lifestyle had been set back into motion. Estella loved that her husband played quidditch, she was always so amazed at his skill in the air and how so many people looked up to him, but she did miss those lazy days they'd had in the off season. Especially now with the studio, where she was the boss and could stroll in whenever she pleased (usually!)!

Estella made an unconscious move to get more comfortable on Caden's lap, but her foot twisted in a strange manner and she sucked back a breath of pain. She dropped her head to his forehead as the sting passed, then smiled meekly before kissing his chin, then up his jawline.

"How precarious of a snog can we have?" she murmured, wondering how long she'd be able to feign a hurt foot so that her mother would keep their children away for a bit longer.
