World of Warcraft — Pings
Being on my trip to California I thought I wouldn’t be able to log into World of Warcraft for whatever reason. Well I could…but it was terrible!

At JFK I connected to JetBlue’s free WiFi and logged in. Even the authentication took quite some time. When I finally connected I had a ping of 8000ms to 8300ms. That’s pretty bad considering I ping around 80 at home…I pretty much gave up right away and logged out!

My second attempt was at the hotel. The authentication went much faster and my pong was much more decent at 100ms to 300ms.

The next problem came at my MacBook. The laptop cannot handle this type of game at all. My fans were moving faster and faster and the unit was getting quite hot. I played for about 10 minutes and logged out in fear of the MacBook catching fire.

It looks like I am going to be World of Warcraft-less for almost a week! EEP!!!
