Angels and Devils (aka Brothers and Sisters)
Braddock LeBeau had only been at Xavier's for a few days, but between all the kids, the warning from his old man (who really had no sense of adventure), and the general boredom he felt at Xavier's, he needed an out.

Maybe New Orleans was fun in this dimension.

He and Gambit (why was he still using that silly codename anyway?) didn't see eye to eye on a lot of stuff, so Brad made arrangement to borrow a car in the garage to use for his trip. He didn't have any gear, so he was on his way out the front door when he ran into the last thing he expected to see.

An angel.

"So, I'm guessin' you're here to take me to heaven for all my sins. Right?" he asks, throwing the woman his best smile.

Lyta was at Xavier's on one of her weekend visits. She'd rolled out of bed late that morning, threw on some pajamas, and had gone downstairs for some coffee, letting Misha sleep in. At the institute, she didn't have to bother harnessing her wings. She was just sitting on the sofa, enjoying her coffee, when she heard someone behind her.

She turned her head over her shoulder. "Excuse me?"

	"The wings? You must be an angel." Braddock says, gesturing at her feathered appendages. He smiles again. This angel is pretty cute, even for the whole pajamas-and-wings thing. "Brad LeBeau." Braddock says, stepping forward to extend a hand. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Lyta smirked. "Actually, I'm just a mutant. And my boyfriend and friends will definitely say that despite my appearance, I'm no angel." She chuckled, extending a hand. "Lyta Braddock-Worthington. 	Brad looks at Lyta as though she slapped him. "I'm sorry...did you say Braddock?" he asks. It had to be a coincidence. There were other Braddocks in the world. The name is like Smith, right? 	"My mom's from England, actually. As is my Uncle Brian. The only reason I don't have an accent is because I was born and raised here, I guess," Lyta said, taking a sip of her coffee. Brad didn't get this far by letting his emotions stay written on his face, but there was definitely a sense of unease now that Lyta had informed him of her mother and Uncle Brian. It didn't take a genius to figure out who her mother was and who he was talking to.

Ana and Rose would never let me hear the end of this. Gretchen would say this is Karma. And "Dad" didn't even warn me!

"What a coincidence! Me, too. Mom was never big on sleeping in. Hell, she usually wasn't too big on sleep most times. 'Sleep is just another chance for someone to kill you'." Brad says.

Then he laughs, to show her that he was saying was (mostly) a joke.

"The Red Queen of Assassins." Braddock says. It's true, if not specific.

"Of course, the name she was born with is Elizabeth Braddock. It later became Elizabeth Braddock-LeBeau when she sort-of married the King of Thieves, Remy Entienne LeBeau." he clarifies.

"And that makes me Braddock James LeBeau...named after my--/our/ Uncle James." he says.

"How you doin', Sister of mine?" he asks sheepishly.

"It's really less of a marriage and more of a business agreement. You can have sex, kids, and all that, but you're not bound. Most importantly, you can't kill each other. My parents have a real issue with that last one." Braddock says.

"And yeah, I just got here a few days ago. You've probably met some people where I'm from already. Rose Logan and Anastasia Summers. We're from the same place.

Damned Tiki Statues." Braddock curses.

"Ah. See, my Mom didn't marry Dad because she thought it sounded too much like a business deal to her. But I'm really not sore about it or anything. My parents weren't together, but I just thought that was perfectly normal growing up. And honestly, if they had gotten married, Mom probably would have ended up killing Dad."

"I know Rose, as she's my boyfriend's sister. Not really so familiar with Anastasia. Heard of her, but I don't really know her. At least you've got people here that are from the same place and in the same situation as you."

Lyta smirked. "So from this experience, you've learned to stay away from Tiki Statues?"
