RALPH - Last Night!
"I NEED MY PINK SHIRT!"

Miranda shrieked to Greta, or to no one! She didn't know! Was Greta even in the flat? Had her friend's mind gone as completely blank as Miranda's had when the owl carrying the most amazing issue of the Daily Prophet ever burst through their kitchen window at nearly midnight? She couldn't think! Well---she could, but the only things running through her mind were the fact that You-Know-Who was gone and that Ralph wanted to marry her.

Again! He wanted to marry her! For real this time, she knew it was different, she knew that it was because their lives were finally going to be disruption free, death eater free and they were going to be able to get married and buy a house and make lots of babies and---

Knocking! Loud---loud knocking! But she had to look nice for when he put the ring she'd returned back onto her hand. Miranda combed her brush through her hair one last time before shooting out of the bathroom and to the front door of the flat. She'd been so cautious about opening doors without checking these past few months but nothing could ruin this night. Miranda flung the door open and there was Ralph, and she let out a shriek of joy as she threw herself at the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with.

It was a good thing Miranda was much tinier than Ralph was, or else he was sure she would have knocked him over with the amount of force she threw herself at him. Taking in a deep breath of air, Ralph's feet slipped back slightly as he wrapped his arms around her. But that didn't stop him from laughing loudly. Laughing! In the middle of the night! Because it didn't matter! They were free-- he was free! The simple thought of no longer having to hide his identity anymore was so liberating! And Miranda---

Ralph pushed his face into her hair, taking a in a deep breath of her scent. Everything from before, everything they had gone through... it seemed so much longer ago than it actually had been. Like a distant memory compared to the fortune they were experiencing now. You-Know-Who was dead, the wizarding world was no longer a war zone! It was over.

"It's over!" Ralph repeated only what his mind had been repeating over and over again. It was just unbelievable, how all of this had happened with little to no head notice... but that wasn't what to focus on now. Now was for re-realizing the actual future he and Miranda could have together now. It wasn't just a far off dream, but something actually achievable... their children wouldn't be in danger because of him, they wouldn't be in danger because of him anymore. It just--- he hadn't felt this happy in a very, very, very long time.

"I have--- I have---" Ralph began to fumble, pulling away from Miranda only slightly to reach for his front coat pocket.

Her excited laughter couldn't be stopped and she clung to Ralph as hard as she could. Miranda wanted to make sure that he was real, that this was real. For the first time in literally years there was no sense of foreboding, that if they were happy they'd have to watch out for whatever bad thing was undoubtedly going to come. They could be happy without consequence, and she had been waiting since Hogwarts to live like that with Ralph.

Miranda didn't want to let go of Ralph, but her instinctively feminine nature caused her heart to skip a beat (or two---or five-) when he began to rummage through his pockets for what had to be the engagement ring. It was a ring she'd worn before, it was a ring she'd given back but now it felt like it was the first time, that it was better than the first time. This time, they were getting engaged for the right reasons, there was nothing pressuring them, there was nothing to feel---not guilty, but---

This was for them and Miranda had never felt happier in her life.

Miranda stepped back, unwilling to pull herself completely away from Ralph's grasp. She watched him intently as he fumbled, her heart began to pound faster and faster. This was it. This was the beginning of the rest of their lives. They weren't going to be boyfriend and girlfriend anymore, like they had been for the past--more than four years. They weren't going to be in a confusing, scary place because they didn't know what an engagement meant, what a baby---Miranda's eyes instantly welled up at the thought of being back to this place, at being ready to---try again.

She was ready, she was so ready to marry Ralph and be his wife, and have their kids and just--"Yes, yes, yes," she blurted, before he'd even managed to pull out the ring.

The box seemed to slip between his fingers as Ralph fumbled for it, unable to focus on anything for longer than a second. Miranda! The ring! Really being married! You-Know-Who gone! Breathing free! Miranda--- the loop continued, new spastic thoughts pushing themselves in every few moments. But they always went back to her, of course Miranda was always on his mind. Ralph began to shake, his mouth wide open as she began to speak to him before he had the chance.

"Really?" Ralph blurted stupidly, his mouth once again moving quicker than his brain. Of course she was going to say yes, not only had he just asked her ten minutes ago, but this time around it was different, it felt better, more natural because this wasn't forced. He shook his head with a loud laugh, mouth split wide open. "Forget-- that---" he spoke jerkily, his head shaking still.

Just as he was going to put the ring on her finger, Ralph stopped for a moment. Wait-- wait, if they were going to do this right! Miranda deserved it! She definitely deserved more, but this was a good start. "Hold on---" Ralph rushed, disconnecting himself from her completely to go down on one knee.

"Miranda Dasiy Dodderidge," Ralph spoke surprisingly in a calm manner toward her, despite his wicked wide grin across his face. He had no idea how he was managing to stay balance on the ground now, it felt like the entire world was on acid. "Will you marry me?"

She would never get tired of hearing him say her name. She'd never get tired of that smile, or his eyes, because the way Ralph was looking at her--Miranda could honestly believe that he'd always be in love with her, just from that look. People used to tease her, about how sure she was of her relationship with Ralph, and now look! Four years later he was still making her heart jump and flip, and he wanted to marry her.

"Yes!"

Miranda clamped her hand over her mouth (her right hand, she needed to keep the left free, of course--) and she held her breath as it truly began to hit her. Ralph, Ralph, Ralph! For the rest of their lives, their lives---starting right now, it was starting right--

"Ralph, yes! Of course!" Miranda jumped a little in place, unable to contain her excitement and the bubbling of great emotion. It was the end of the war and the start of their lives! There was nothing that could stop their happiness now, she was going to show off this ring and be so proud to be the future Mrs. Ralph Frobisher.

"Miranda Frobisher sounds so good," she let out as she leaned forward to kiss her fiancé properly.

He knew-- he knew what she was going to say, but that didn't stop Ralph's heart from speeding so quickly it felt like it was going to tear itself out of his chest. She said yes! Of course she said yes, this was always meant to happen, Ralph knew they were soulmates who were meant to have a lot of children and grow old together. He knew it, she knew it and now it was actually happening! And not because of anything else, but because now was the right time! Nothing else was standing in the way---

Now. Now. They should go now! Why not? What else was stopping them? Nothing! No one! That was who! Becoming even more excited at the thought of this, Ralph jumped up from the ground, holding Miranda tightly on the arms after slipping her ring rightfully back on her finger.

"It does!" he spoke quickly, unintentionally missing her cue for a good snog. He couldn't even-- Ralph felt so rational, so crazed, he could hardly focus on anything else but saying what he wanted to say. "Let's go now--- let's make you Miranda Frobisher now!"

Miranda gaped like a fish out of water. Go now! Get married now! Become Miranda Frobisher now! The idea completely dazzled her and she felt dizzy for a second as everything came rushing forward. This really was it, this really was the beginning of the rest of their lives and---he wanted to marry her now, Ralph didn't want to waste another second of their lives and Miranda beamed with adoration and devotion toward the man grinning like a fool in front of her.

"Yes--yeah, let's go! Let's go get--let's---" Miranda's shoulders scrunched in excitement and she grabbed Ralph from behind the neck and pulled him forward to kiss him properly. He'd proposed, twice, and they hadn't kissed! Miranda and Ralph were known for their snogging sessions, so Miranda pushed against him with such force that she was sure they were going to end up on the floor.

She mumbled into his mouth, not wanting to break away because she loved him and she loved their life so much right now, "I love you I love you I love you---"

"Really?" Ralph blurted as Miranda pulled him up to her. His eyes were as wide as they could be when she began to kiss him. She wanted to get married now. Now! He hadn't seriously thought she would accept, it was Miranda. She had been planning their picture-perfect wedding since fifth year. So-- so-- for her to jump at this not only shocked him (in the best of ways) but also invigorated him as well.

This was how they were supposed to be. Happy and in love with no care in the world except each other. And for that, he was eternally in debt to the Potters. They-- they had created this for them. And while Ralph wished there could have been another way for all of it to finally happen--- he couldn't. So---

Ralph stood up straighter, making sure to never let go of Miranda. He grabbed onto her waist tightly, creating the ability to pick her up off the ground. As much as he wanted to continue this, he wanted to be able to call her Mrs. Miranda Frobisher more. "I--- love you--- let's---- go!"
