I would like to live near an active volcano.

Any particular reason why?

It's pretty.

Make sure you live up on a large hill then.

That is equally dangerous, you will get the highest level of toxic fumes.

Then you should pick which way you want to die early. Getting burnt by lava is more pleasant sounding.

I wonder how long it would take for you to die in a lava flow.

Shouldn't be too long. The temperature is intense.

I've heard. I would have to see someone else burn in it first, to properly judge the time.

Instead of living near an active volcano, just go on holiday near one. If it erupts, there are lots of tourists to sacrifice.

That is a good way to think of it.

Seconds, I'd guess. Lava reaches 1250 degrees Celsius. Nothing would be left except bone.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]inhumanresource

How long until the bone goes as well.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

I'm not sure. Bone doesn't melt, it becomes ash (calcium and phosphorous). Crematoriums burn bodies at 870-960 degrees, though, so it wouldn't take long for lava.

I see. It should be an interesting experiment. I will need to find someone willing to throw themselves into the molten rock.

You'd probably die before you got close enough to an active volcano as it is. The temperature near it would be enough to kill you.

I've seen shows. They have a special suit. You can also take tours in Hawaii near underground lava flows. You can walk across them, on the black hardened lava.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]vitiated

The black, hardened area, sure. But not next to a spewing volcano. And those suits are probably really expensive.

I would not want to be near one that was in the process of exploding.

Maybe you can rent them. You can rent scuba gear. And boats.

That seems like an unnecessarily dangerous way to live.

Yes. It seems exciting.

You require molten rock for excitement then. Interesting. Would you take pictures?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]inhumanresource

The destruction they cause is interesting. I would like to see a person thrown into a lava flow, as well.

I would take pictures.

I don't disagree with that. I'm sure the would feel otherwise. That is unless they were suicidal. Then I suppose you'd be doing them a favor by letting them be thrown into your volcano.

Would you share them?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

I will consider finding a suicidal person, thank you.

Yes.

You would not live long to enjoy it.

(Reply to this)(Thread)

[info]inhumanresource

But the short time would be enjoyable.

I disagree, though it would be interesting to watch from a safe distance.

[ooc: wheres a dei muse when you need them? LOL]

What do you dislike about them.

[ ooc: lmao, right? FIELD TRIP GAIZ. big big booms *_* ]

[info]notyourfantasy

I have not encountered one to dislike, I just do not wish to die from them.

You will not die if you are careful.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]notyourfantasy

I am careful, that is why I have not been killed by one.

Keep up the good work, then.

[info]legwarmersplz

That sounds exciting enough to be worth the danger! You must be brave to want to do it.

(Reply to this)(Thread)

[info]inhumanresource
2009-09-16 04:31 am UTC (link)
I do not think it is a matter of bravery.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]legwarmersplz
2009-09-16 04:41 am UTC (link)
Why not? Most people would not be willing to live near one because it is dangerous. So if you want to despite that, then I think you are!

It is curiosity. I wish to watch them.

you like the heat? maybe a electric blanket would make you fall asleep.

I like it when it is cold outside. But I will try that.
