Jag är hemma!

And for those of you who don't speak Swedish: I'm home!

Please, hold your applause -I'm sure you can express your excitement in other ways that preferably don't make much noise, seeing how I feel as though this hangover is going to last for another couple of hours before I eat something greasy and disgusting. It's only been a few days since I've been back, but I was hoping to get settled into my new place before making the announcement.

But, I'm back, and I figured I'd make the announcement for anyone who cares enough...and anyone who doesn't, I feel sorry for you.

Sweden, is it? I had been wondering where exactly you your friends came from.

I believe we met last night, if you were sober enough still to recall.

I would have been more than happy to tell you, had you asked.

You underestimate my memory. Of course I remember meeting you. I suspect you made it to see your friend in time?

It was not that big of a deal, just an offhanded thought.

What friend was---oh Yes, I was only fashionably late. I trust your friends enjoyed the rest of the evening? Why am I speaking to you?

So I gathered, given by the way the way that you didn't - ask, that is.

I'm sure you were worth the wait. And yeah, I'm going to judge by the way they're all laying scattered around my house, completely immobile, that they enjoyed the rest of the evening.

Are you trying to flatter me, sir?

That said, I am always worth the wait.

Merely stating an opinion...though if you were flattered, that's just an added bonus.

I'm sure.

You are quite bold, I'll give you that. Amusing.

Hah, I can live with 'bold'. At least I'm not being called - what was that word you used? Boorish, I believe?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Is there a reason you're still mocking my vocabulary? I apologize if my speech has gone over your head.

That said, I'm astonished you remembered a single word.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Ouch. What do you think I am, some sort of Neanderthal? I know what the word means, it's just not often that I hear it used in casual conversation.

I remembered much more about our encounter last night than a single word. Again, you underestimate my memory - especially when it comes to pretty girls.

My word, you are bold.

Unfortunately, I must inform you that I am immune to such flattery. I am wholly uninterested in such things these days.

Miss Hooke, are you insinuating that I have some sort of ulterior motive?

Quite frankly, I'm insulted. Though I must say, as a side note, that's disappointing news for every male with a pulse.

Mister Gray, everyone has an ulterior motive.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]thegraychampion
2011-05-28 04:45 am UTC (link)
That's a rather pessimistic way of looking at things.

You must not have much faith in people, though I'm sure you have your reasons.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]cecilias
2011-05-28 04:48 am UTC (link)
I have plenty of reasons. That said, to not understand such a thing indicates a lack of touch with the reality of human nature.

But I don't mean to bring down your mood.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]thegraychampion
2011-05-28 04:50 am UTC (link)
No, I understand better than I'm letting on.

I just didn't want to bring down your mood.

Well then, that's very interesting. Hiding a dark past, perhaps?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]thegraychampion
2011-05-28 04:56 am UTC (link)
Something like that.

I think the word complicated would be a better word to use than dark.

Hope that doesn't disappoint you.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]cecilias
2011-05-28 04:59 am UTC (link)
Not at all. I could use being acquainted with less dark people. Complicated is manageable.

This may be the first time having complications have worked in my favor.

Hey, I'll take whatever I can get.

I only said acquainted. Don't expect too terribly much.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]thegraychampion
2011-05-28 05:16 am UTC (link)
Do I expect much? No.

Do I hope for things? Maybe.

After all, you need to know what these complications are before you can decide whether or not they're 'manageable' or not - if you're interested, that is. If not, I'd be just thrilled to be nothing more a lowly acquaintance. Sound fair?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Impeccably.

I suppose I'll see you around then, Mister Gray.

Rebecca Corner! I've been great, but I'm doing much better now that I've heard from you, gorgeous. How have you been?

Oh ahhahaa aha! That's so kind. I've been doing fabulously! I'm currently working as a healer at St. Mungo's in the potions and plants area, and I'm living in London now

And I'm married!

That's brilliant! You definitely have the brains to be a healer.

Oh, really? Belated congratulations, then! Should have known you wouldn't be on the market for long. Who's the lucky man?

Why thank you! I seem to remember you having a keen interest in architecture...?

His name is Euan! Euan Abercrombie, and he's quite the brilliant healer, but he works in the psychiatric ward!

[info]thegraychampion

Well, let's say I had enough of an interest in architecture to make it into my career. It's going splendidly - I'm actually living in one of my own designs, which is completely mind boggling and amazing at the same time. I'm hoping to show it off to as many people as I can; hopefully at once, by having some sort of get-together - one may even call it a 'shindig' or a 'hootenanny'.

As long as he treats you well, he's a good man in my eyes.

That's fantastic! That would be fantastic, though I hope this 'hootenanny' of yours doesn't get too rowdy!

He does! Very well, in fact.

I have 3 years of lost time to make up - I promise nothing.

Than you should definitely bring him along, whenever I do decide to have people over.

Rebecca Abercrombie - I'm going to have to get used to the sound of that.

Believe me, it took me some time to get used to it as well! I hope you have your shindig soon, the only events that have been going on are stuffy ministry events---it seems like every other week they find something to celebrate and dress up for.
